Thank you for sharing, I went to the hospital too and was misdiagnosed and then the psychiatrist they set me up with said I was manic and paranoid because of my intrusive thoughts.

Hi Nick I’ve been suffering from saliva/swallowing ocd for the past month. After a lot of panicking and being upset over it I’ve been trying to accept it and it’s got to the point where I’m not compulsively/purposely swallowing anymore and I’m not as aware of the saliva in my mouth. However now my throat keeps tightening up and gulping involuntarily every 5 minutes or so. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Is this still part of the ocd? I’m not sure how I’m supposed to ‘not give into the compulsion’ when my throat keeps gulping on it’s own and I’m constantly aware of it. Do I just try and ignore it until it hopefully dissipates eventually?

Hey! So it’s difficult to give a full explanation over one message, but primarily we need to, in time, bring down the fear surrounding noticing these sensations forever + bring them for the ride everywhere.

free will does not exist due to determinism. Every event was determined from the big bang. Only thing that determines your choices are what brain you were born with and what experiences you had. Free will obsession was big for me as I felt I wasnt special/everything was given to me/others dont deserve punishment because it was determined to happen by laws of physics. I think its hard to accept but there are some positive things that come with it.

Absolutely but free will not existing is also not certain.

@@OCDRecovery true. Just wanted to say I really enjoy the videos. Ever since seeing your tiktoks I started doing radical acceptance and my quality of life has increased so much in the past months. Its hard because basically all the therapists I saw gave terrible ocd advice. I was too scared to do exposure/accept until I heard it from someone who suffered the same fears as me.

@@playerbeats12345 it’s sadly so misunderstood!

@@OCDRecoveryhey, had a question. So if im so called manually breathing and I stop breathing momentarily, do u think I should let my body keep doing the breathing? I know it sounds crazy but honestly I think the manual breathing is is actually interrupting our automatic breathing.
