"You shouldn't criticise this country because in this country you have the right to criticise the country. If you want to criticise the country, then maybe you should go live in a country where you can't criticise the country...' Some of these people, honestly!
Yank here. Nick did a pretty good job, but he needs to use more meaningless adjectives, like “tremendous,” “yuge,” and “outstanding.” He also needs to refer to himself in the 3rd person and make up random shit people come up say to him, followed by “Sir.” Ending with “Everyone is saying it. I don’t know,” would make Nick’s impression 👌🏻
@@dianaprince3176 Millions of people are saying that Nick's Trump is the bestest Trump impression ever. Millions. So many people. All friends of mine. So many friends. The best friends.
Old women tend rice paddies all day in Asia ..old men work as builders, bricklayers and labourers on building sites. Some people are fitter at 60 than some young people ...picking veg wouldn't be easy but then no labouring job is ..but its stupid to say people cant do that at 60
Im listening to this in October 2022 & all I can say is..... Times were so simple back then. If only people new what was in store for them right now :D
I picked potatoes as a teenager. 75 potatoes? the drills stretch into the bloody horizon. These old folk, and especially city dwellers would die out there. Its hellish hard work.
I worked 12 hour days installing elevators ..lifting heavy stuff ..drilling etc .climbjng flights of stairs in high rises ...it's way harder than picking veg ..guaranteed ! I'm 60 with a heart condition. I've seen young men try this and they can't handle the pace, they cant do a days work without whining and complaining and last less than a week or two. You can't say ALL older people are incapable ..some old people can work far harder than young people. Some people in their 60s are triathletes, karate masters , yoga teachers, can run miles or cycle miles. Nick Abbot was not only 100% wrong but he was being a stupid ill informed, smug ageist patronising twat. Some 60 year olds karate masters would be able to kick his arse, outrun him and out work him in gym.
@@PirateRemy And do you know what these 60 year old "Karate Masters" has been doing for the last 40 years? That’s right, they’ve been training Karate - but they still would get their ass kicked by someone in their late 20's who’s training every day as well.... Companies that need people to pick fruit and vegetables have experience with who can keep up, and who slows it down. Also, the work IS "backbreaking", ask anyone who’s been doing such work for the last 40 years!
@@gorillaguerillaDK Clearly you haven't a frigging clue what you are talking about ... You can't say ALL 60 year olds cannot do it....its not only stupid, it's ignorant. You don't even know what it feels like to be 60 so how would you even know ? Some 60 year olds can climb Everest, some 20 year olds can't...the oldest man to climb Everest is 80 years old ...Id say that's far harder than bending over picking a a few veggies ...the oldest woman was 73 to climb Everest. Climbing Everest is one of the most difficult things to do in life
@@PirateRemy Sure, I'll agree that if you put an out of shape novice up against someone who's been training all their life, the older guy would win. There's no prejudice here buddy, I'm fully aware of the potential there is in a healthy "senior citizen" population, (part of my work is to help people get fit again, or become even more fit, regardless of age), but the thing is, the kind of labor we're talking about is STILL backbreaking. Even for people who's been doing it all of their life. In my late teens I've been a grape picker in Hungary and France for a couple of seasons, pretty hard work as well, and when I started I was pretty slow at it, but during a week I was just as fast as the old ones who were in their 60's and had been doing this kind of work for years, and after two weeks I was quicker than the old ones, but I never got quite as fast as the ones in their mid 20's - I might have been if I had continued doing this a couple of seasons more, but luckily I had better things to do. (Such as practicing Karate) I don't disagree that you can find a few who can do this kind of labor, who's in their 60's, but all the things you mention, being a Karate "Master", climbing the Mount Everest both have something in common, it takes years of practice - you don't walk from a lifestyle where it's 8 hours at the office, then home for tea and watching telly all night. Not even adding a run or a trip to the gym is enough! It takes a lot more than that - and when you grow older, it gets harder. It's basic physiology! Not impossible, but harder. That's why those who employ fruit and vegetable pickers prefer young people. Or if it's someone older, then someone who's very experienced. And don't forget, hard labor also increase the risk of injury, and that risk increase with age, and healing time is slower as you grow older. I know, both from personal and professional experience, (and education)
Racists with shouty voices - luxury. I'm glad Nick Abbott's dared to say what we all suspected - that Brexit was a charter for racists to express their stupid racism.

@@ParcelOfRogue I never stepped foot in a pub whilst I was there so can’t comment! Probably because I was expecting something of that ilk. I did hear unashamed racism on a fairly frequent basis though.
Trump was elected President of America ...I think that settles any argument about how stupid people are. He even suggested injecting disinfectant to cure COVID and his stupid wall can be climbed with a ladder.
You know, some of these clips are quite old and now the callers have been utterly proven wrong by the bizarre things they say - do you think they have realised that, or are still oblivious to the nonsense that dribbles out?
Do you know how much a picking basket filled with cucumbers (or most other produce items) weighs? It’s obvious these people have never worked as a picker on a farm. I did it in my teens, and it was beak breaking, sweating work, for low pay. You get paid by how many pallet sized bins you fill, and they take a long time to fill. I picked pears and strawberries every summer in Southern Oregon, US, and I can’t imagine how anyone over 45 years old could survive picking pears. I still have scars from the shoulder straps. Maybe strawberries, because you fill small flats, but you’re still bending over for hours at a time, and that’s its own special flavor of hell.
Most of these people are genuinely awful, but I must admit to having a soft spot for Brian of Stockton-on-Tees. He sounds like he'd be a laugh to have a few beers at the pub with.
The problem this caller has is that he believes that other than wild guessing Trump understands anything of what he is told....he doesn’t, he just runs with it!
not sure i would call all of these covidiots, just very strange people with misguided ideas. i don't agree with nick on the postman though and most of the time i do agree with him but a postman is on the frontline someone has to handle the letters
@@johnmackenzie8559 On some cases yes on others no. I have no problem him calling out stupidity but I took particular exception to him describing a 60 year old as being unable to pick vegetables. In the third world 60 year olds work in rice paddies, some 60 year old.men work in construction for 12 hours a day. His attitude stunk, and I found him condescending smug and most of all ignorant. There's 60 year old yoga instructors , martial arts experts, mountain climbers, survival experts , athletes etc...all likely far more capable than he has ever dreamt of. I'm 62 and I worked installing elevators, I could outlast most younger people who simply could not handle the hard work and heavy lifting ..if anyone's incapable it's younger people who have gone soft on technology and playing X Box all day, insipid, pale and weak. Apparently Nick Abbot is 60 years old..and no doubt a bit of a wimp, it just seems he's projecting his own inaquacies on to every other person his age.
@@PirateRemy Did you take issue with the hiring manager refusing to hire a 63 year old woman to pick pounds of veg 8 hours a day? Or are you just upset with Nick Abbot for agreeing with the hiring manager?

Always funny and entertaining. I looked at the image .... Strange how Brexiters have an identical look. How about a Biden take off in the light of his and Democrat dismal performance in the USA? @@mattgreek1066 No, he did denigrate her. I'm a big Nick Abbot fan, but this was one of those rare situations when he acted like a plonker.
