Right? Nick's love for June is genuine. His loyalty is to June, not Gilead. He needs to do all he can to make sure he's not on the wall so he can protect her. He risked so much trying to get June to Canada with their daughter and June chose not to go. She would be free in Canada right now if she got on that truck. Everyone would be praising Nick for getting her out. It's crazy how people can't comprehend that.

@@mfricke27 yeah it completely blows my mind and I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve tried to explain/ describe/ defend. I don’t know what else the writers and actors can do to convey the message and story and clearer than it already is. There’s some deeply rooted hate thrown towards Nick especially after the start of S4, but obviously they’ve misunderstood him. He’s risked his life for her and their love and everything he does is to keep her alive. There’s truly no greater love than that. ❤️

@@teamnickandjune It truly is mind boggling how anyone can see Nick as anything other than a man deeply in love with a woman and that he'll do everything in his power to protect her. Either these people aren't paying attention or they're bots trying to influence the writers of the show to bend towards the Luke and June storyline. They just want to mess up a good thing. So frustrating. That said...I do believe she will give Luke and their marriage a chance once she's in Canada but they'll eventually go their separate ways because her heart belongs to Nick.

@@mfricke27 I think June has changed so much that may not bring her close to Luke again. She still loves Luke but her heart is with Nick. I hope The Handmaid's Tale is not a hopeless love story, it should be a story that love prevails, even is a shitty place like Gilead. Nick is a good guy, he just got involved with the wrong people and trying hard to get out.

Team Nick, all the way. I’d be disappointed if she went back to Luke. She’ll make it to Canada but I reckon deep in her heart, she knows that the two people she loves the most (Hannah and Nick) are still stuck in Gilead and for that, she will return! 🙌🏼

@@teamnickandjune love makes people do crazy things; June loves Hannah, she risks everything to get her back and Nick loves June, he also risks his life for her and their baby, even before Nichole was born. I guess Luke is to take care of Nichole so that her mom and dad can take her sister Hannah away from Gilead and they will be united. I hope June and Nick will be a real family and Luke will move on.

I reckon the writers will let June and him reunite and give their marriage a chance but I do hope she realises that the man she truly loves is Nick. ❤️ She has to return for Hannah and also to be with the man she loves and take down Gilead together!

Nick was so scared that June might commit suicide like the previous handmaid the minute Commander Waterford took her to Jezebel. And of course, what man can stand the woman that he loves is being mistreated by other man, Nick is human after all.

@@azuraahmad8372 absolutely! They were quietly flirtatious in the early days and it was subtle so many viewers missed it but it was definitely clear to us fans that they took a liking to each other before anyone else came into the picture.

Season 2, Episode 5. After Nick weds Eden, June lost all hope and walked out to the garden to slowly die. Nick finds her on his way back to his place after having drinks with Fred.

Hmmm...I highly recommend re-watching the episode again as you may have missed some important signs. It also helps to read interviews with the showrunner, writers and actors as they could help clarify any confusion you may have of Nick. In short, Nick wasn't the one who "hunted" or sent troops to catch June and her friends (fact checked from interview with the stars of the show). He also is not in control of where she goes to (ie breeding colony). He was the one there with June so that he could keep an eye on her from further harm. Imagine if it were a random Commander doing the job? She may not have made it out of that episode. So the fact that Nick appeared was a huge sigh of relief, and you could tell from June's reaction and this is further proven by the way she embraced him when they meet after on the bridge. Nick never means any harm to June and their child. It's crystal clear and proven time and time again across four seasons now. 😊
