I used to feel so safe late at night watching Nick at Nite. The shows and these commercials made me feel odly at ease, entertained and relaxed. I really miss Nick at Night.
I’m definitely a Nick @ Nite kid. I liked watched I Love Lucy, The Munsters, and others during this time. Watching these promos brings back so many memories. The simple days.
I used to! I'd beg my Granny and Papa to let me stay up and watch either I Dream of Jeannie or Bewitched but I'd end up falling asleep in my Papa's lap.
Wow, I never realized how creative and quirky the Nick At Nite promos were, even though I loved watching it back when they showed other shows besides "Full House" and "Friends".
There are a couple other compilations on RU-vid with the Nick at Nite jingles but this has some that the others don't. The comfy jeans one is one I remembered but wasn't available on other compilations. So thanks for this.
Holy Nostalgia Batman! What fantastic memories of way back when. Miss watching this with friends and family as a kid and teen. I randomly sing some of these since way back when! I miss the bumper where it shows the Nick at Night TV set water skiing, lol.
Whenever I watched horror movies growing up, I would always watch Nick at Nite for an hour or so afterwards so I could fall asleep with the lights off.
I feel the same way, but do the math...when Nick at Nite started in the mid 80s, it re-ran shows from 20 to 30 years old. Today's 20 to 30 years ago would fall in the 80s and 90s. I'd much rather watch the original N@N lineup, though.
These were the days when Nick at Nite was worth watching. At least we have new networks that keep the original vision of Nick at Nite today. I hope that we'll one day get this concept back. But, the chances of that are slim, since Nick at Nite dedicates itself to modern programming.
oh i couldnt agree more. i loved nickelodeon by day and nick by nite. i was a kid during the 80s, but ohhhh how i loved that channel. It was certainly my favorite, and oddly enough, i loved those old black and whites along with these goofy promos. They made the network so eccentric and original to its own. Of course, now, as an adult, i feel like i sorta grew up in the 60s. Like yourself, i wished Nick at Nite would return to its original black and white line ups of great old sitcoms, but, due to streaming and how you can watch t.v. nowadays, im afraid its just as much of the past as the original shows itself. :( Nevertheless, i still watch old classics myself through streaming, but it'll never be as it once was.
exactly- I was a 90s kid and loved watching the programming on nights i had to be babysat by my aunt because my mom was taking college classes. This introduced me to classics such as the Dick Van Dyke Show, the Mary Tyler Moore Show, I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched.
0:14 you hear Latka, but that spot had PREVIOUSLY been reserved for Maxwell Smart saying "Love it" and again at 0:17 he used to say "Marvelous." But this was after Get Smart was gone from Nick at Nite, which is why you hear "You bet'cha" at 0:17 instead. (Yes, I remember that much detail about it. lol)
Dude imagine being an 8 year old in a house that's unfamiliar to you watching this super late at night because you're being babysat by your aunt because your mom is out of town- this creeped me out but it gives me a comforting nostalgia if that makes sense.
What happened to the Happy DAYS ad talking about Chuck Cunningham disappearing from Happy Days with no explanation and scenes of the Chuck Cunningham actors GAVAN O 'Herlihy and RANDOLPH Roberts were in the Nick at Mite Happy Days Promo.
Oh man the memories: I dream of Genie, Adams Family, Taxi, I Love Lucy, The Odd Couple, Happy Days, The Jeffersons, The Wonder Years, The Brady Bunch, Different Strokes, and The Facts of Life
you're not alone pal! I was like, where is my babies at right now? I'm supposed to be seeing doug and the crew right now! I'm supposed to hang with mikey and get him to the goal right now, not this crap! Now, I'd rather see old Nick At Nite than this one they got now, because this current one sucks!
