Another excellent video. How u dont have a job in the NFL is puzzling. I'M curious what u think of JOEY BOSA now after the video u made. Does he have more quality sacks than he did b4??
For April fools Brett should do a super serious analysis of Nathan Peterman and make him sound like an absolute football God. Edit: Hey thanks for the likes!
@meaturama lol okay guy. What's wrong with seeking advice or perspective from someone who is experienced? This provides a deeper insight and breakdown that not everyone is able to pick up on by themselves yet.
@@dolo3 High Vertical = very explosive. The vertical itself is a measure of explosiveness. Speed is also directly related to explosiveness which is why faster players also tend to have a higher vertical.
Brett Kollmann what do you think of Allen vs. Ed Oliver? I know one is more of a DL and the other one OLB but if my team needs a pass rusher, who would you like best?
I absolutely LOVED watching both of them play at OSU, I just wish we had another Bosa coming down the line. They were soooooo much fun to watch in college! I'm convinced that whoever drafts Nick is going to be a lot better immediately.
@@CharlesTMunger1 it was kind of implied that when you said the underdog was sacking the goat that since miller was doing the sacking he was the underdog
That was as much anticipating the snap count correctly as well as the quick jump. If you slow down it frame by frame, you will see that Miller is already in the Patriots' side of the scrimmage while the ball is still being in the air after being snapped. Nobody else on the Denver side has moved.
@@zackhurwitz9441 we're in a win now situation and allen would just get bashed by the o-line in nfl his first year. But in 3 more years we will come back to this comment.. hopefully
@@lahkooky504westside3 I actually think he is a better prospect than bosa tbh. He's been more productive on a less talented team in a tougher conference and is more versatile and athletic. I'd prefer Quenin Williams ahead of both, this class is deep at edge, someone will probably be there at the top of the second round.
I always see a comment like this so ima keep the trend going, you are such an underrated film breakdown RU-vidr and especially the way you explain it. You are such a great teacher that helps a lot of us understand the game of football better. We seriously appreciate it, thank you 🙏. Drop a like on this video guys
I’m in my first year of high school and in junior high I never thought getting to the corner was that important I always went straight to the to the QB. I’m gonna try to improve that. Hey maybe you’ll be talking about me in a few years
@NatarisX we had a 300lb overweight asshole trying to teach us how to play line. Nothing he said is stuff you see at the next level. More likely than not, he didnt really know what he was talking about
If Joey’s proved one thing, it’s that you don’t need to be Myles Garrett to be a stud pass rusher. They both aren’t athletic wet dreams but out hustle and outwit many linemen to produce on the same level as many other top tier pass rushers.
Bosa won DPOY, and got one of the best pass-rushing games I've ever seen this year. That's with getting double-teamed because the lack of a pass rush in LA.
My issue with your emphasis on that 2017 Oklahoma game as a indicator of how he’ll do against NFL OL is the point in his career at the time it was played. He didn’t start a single game as a freshman (still saw significant time/snaps) but that Oklahoma game in his sophomore year was only his second start ever. Just some food for thought. Nick has 600 less collegiate snaps than Joey going into the draft.
@@davidjohnson7373 Nobody will give you shit for Solomon, Saleh playing him at the Edge tanked his value big time. He'd have better numbers if he played on the interior. If any guy could be traded is Armstead, who will be a FA next year and could save 9M.
RK Belmont hey you never know. Package him with a pick 🤷🏽♂️. & honestly I like Armstead. He was our 2nd best D lineman last year. A beast in the run game. I’d want to keep him
Bick Bosa looks like Defensive Player Of The Year . He pressures QBs like no one else. Also he can dominate in the run game !! He is plenty explosive enough . He has all the pass rush moves as a rookie !
I wonder almost everyday how guys like Stephen a and cowherd have daily jobs broadcasted to the whole country yet they have maybe 1/5th of the knowledge and die hard work to your craft you’ve shown the last few years. Puzzling
@@kaizenkonversations8337 I don't really see the value of a traditional defensive end if a hybrid like Allen is available. In today's NFL the more versatile the better. Besides they'd both be on the team to rush the QB, same as if they'd pick Bosa, but with a player that could do more if necessary.
been saying it for awhile. Nick doesn't have that burst and arm length. I like Allen as a better prospect due to his raw athleticism. played in the SEC and was the only one u had to worry about when you played Kentucky and he still had 17+ sacks. Nick has the technique but that can be taught. Buckner was just that coming into the league. 2 years later he has double digit sack love the vids man keep it up!
if technique could just be taught to everyone then bosa wouldn't be a prospect at all. The point is he's already mastered some levels of technique that some defensive lineman will never reach in their whole career
Exactly. Most LT in the league are technicians them selves technique can be taught to anyone that has the desire to learn of corse. But thats when physical and athletic abitlity can beat technique. i was just stating my opinon@@jair7231
Im a harcore Eagles fan but hot damn!, I really really enjoy watching this man. Hes a true freak of nature. What he did yesterday when he caught an interception in the backfield and took it in for 6! WoW!!
Forget the arm length look at the size of his hands they are ridiculously huge. They are strong as fuck and he uses them to knock the tackles arms down
Another great breakdown. This kind of helps explain why I wasn’t 100% excited about my 49ers taking Nick Bosa. I still think it’s the right pick at the end of the day because we can absolutely lock down the edge rush position on our team which has been our biggest weakness for years.
Could you do one of these on Josh Allen? I’m still debating on who I want the niners to take between Allen, Bosa, or Williams. I’d really want to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks
This was a really interesting analysis. As an Ohio State fan, all I’ve heard is how both are generational talents. Lots of good insights as to how both brothers are limited physically. That being said, what makes these guys special is their physicality and mentality. Even going back to their freshman highlight tapes at Aquinas HS, it’s evident that both of these guys are straight up old school football players. They’re physical and relentless every single play, and when they get their hands on QBs they beat the hell out of them. Like you said, I think both guys have such high floors they’re hard to pass up.
Yo, Donald's arms are as short as Bosa's. I think the question should be why do they have that ceiling? How innovative is the staff they work with to overcome arm length? Consult a short arm boxer lol.
Since I'm guessing that the Cardinals are picking Kyler Murray. Who do you think is the best choice for my 49ers at the 2nd overall pick, Nick Bosa or Josh Allen?
thats when the dc moves them around. look at what happens when you put ingram and bosa on the same side or put him in the middle. i completely agree with your criticisms. but as long as your dc knows how to utilize them they will be great
Also bob miller and guys like that guess the sanpcount speed around the edge is okay but Miller guesses the snapcount if u hit him with a altered snap count or hesitations he normall jumps offsides
I put him somewhere between Chandler Jones and Michael Bennett. both could generate up to 30 QB hits and he can generate a great deal of tackles for a loss due to his ability to get penetration. he's got a decent amount of burst and strength but is a straight technician so he'll be good for years.
I like how you used context in the comparisons and judgements between the brothers than simply using statistics. Stats are all well and good on paper, but not as great when trying to put into effect. I also loved how you broke down each play down to the name of the lineman and used plays from multiple seasons instead of simply his epic failures or highlight reals. Plus, Nick can most likely be taught how to speed up his jump off the line later on with whatever team drafts him. If he starts next season, he may struggle at first to get to the QB and only make him move for the first few weeks, but disrupting QB's like Tom Brady or Jared Goff to make him scramble can be just as effective in stopping a play as sacking them. Joey has done so well recently is also most likely not only because his previous skills, but Joey has also been training with some of the best Defensive Line/Pass Rush coaches in the NFL for several seasons in Giff Smith (D-Line Coach) and Gus Bradly (Defensive Coordinator) along with a good mentor/partner in fellow pass rusher DE Melvin Ingram. I agree that Nick shows (just as you said many times in the video) the same kind of promise to do just as well as his brother, especially if the right group of coaches
Coaching is really going to be important, not that they can really do anything for him individually, but they've got to put him in a good position to succeed against tackles that he matches up well with. He's not a guy that can just go out and beat anyone week after week. It's all about matchups with these brothers.
Yeah I’d take either Bosa brother any day over most “elite pass rushers”. I’m a buckeye fan and I’ve been watching them since they were in high school. They’ve been completely dominant against every level of competition. Very strong against the run as well.
Every 49ers game I’ve watched this season it seems like every play Nick is influencing. If he’s not getting a sack, closing up running lanes, or forcing a fumble, he’s pressuring the absolute crap outta the QB! Idk if team’s are just showing him a lack of respect because he’s only a rookie or his supporting cast really helps his game but I find myself yelling “OMG, Bosa!” a lot more than any player before.
If you're AZ who do you pick #1? Let's assume they don't draft Murray and are not drafting out of need. Would you take Bosa, Williams, or Allen #1 and why? Awesome video.
If you are the tackle who played against them. You was like finally Joey is done and out then In the next game u be like wtf is Joey doing here screwing me over . you will have nightmares for the rest of your life
You've done Williams and Bosa. I love your breakdowns and would love to see what your analysis of Josh Allen as they are probably the first 3 defensive guys off the board and all vying for #1 overall.
Recently found your channel and you have a new sub! Very well done videos and I especially like the way you analyze and break things down. It is almost like watching a football coach speak. Looking forward to your upcoming videos!
Your videos are always the best, and most detailed. Have you ever thought about doing some video analysis on players that everyone though would bust in the draft and ended up a Pro Bowler in the league? It would be interesting to go over the things that people thought were red flags about a player and ended up being nothing.
Can you start doing ones that solve debates of who’s better at their positions? Brady v Rodgers, Gronk vs kelce, brown vs Jones, kuechly vs Wagner, etc
As a niners fan, I’ll take Josh Allen. The niners got two new linebackers. Dee Ford and Kwon Alexander. However they will be putting Dee Ford on the line. So I would take Edge Rusher AND linebacker Josh Allen. Allen also has longer arms, more strength, speed. And is even taller than Joey Bosa. He even placed top 3 in combine scores, which was also better than Nick Bosa.
Bosa fits our scheme the best while also being a productive Edge Rusher which the Niners have lacked ever since Harbaugh left. Q Williams is the most dominant defensive player in the draft by a wide margin, just that the Niners might not pick him bc they have so many interior defenders already. But Lynch did say he is choosing the best player available so there's a possibility there. Rather have either of those two over Allen
