I've been an election poll worker clerk for over 20 years. Less than 50 percent of all registered voters actually vote. Get out and vote. Vote by mail if you can't get to your election precinct. Democracy doesn't trickle down from our lawmakers. It pools up like a spring from voters below. RESEARCH all candidates before giving them your vote. Don't be a team player. Vote for those who follow issues.
Agreed, if just 5% more people showed up to vote on one side or the other, there would be a major change in an election, which could trickle down to the government. Especially at the local and state level, where it really matters and can make a change in our lives. We'll until they get paid off and sell out too. LOL
We don’t have democracy , we have a constitutional republic , Russia is a democracy , Canada is a democracy socialists have democracy ! Not trying to be a jerk it’s just important we all know democracy is bad , it’s mob rule not a balanced and fair representation of all people not just a large group of them !
Love this conversation. Especially in light of the past few weeks. Praying for mercy on our country and that we turn back to God as a nation and maintain the freedom to raise our families as God directs us.
Well, hello from Finland, the happiest county in the world. We have social security and Medicare for everyone for free. We have no school fees, no fees for university. If this is not working in the US it doesn't mean it can't work anywhere.
@@justanothermichele yes taxes are higher but there’s no suprise bills, no bankruptcy from emergencies, no being unable to get social assistance when needed. It works out a LOT cheaper and creates a happy, healthy, stable and calm society.

We are retired homeschooling parents. Both of our kids graduated our highschool. Both graduated college by choice for desired careers. They both worked during college and lived at home and now have NO college debt. Their choice in our home; at 18, work and pay rent or schooling and work to pay tuition. We will support both choices. One loved math, one did not. 😂
Agriculture is inherently political, because the government heavily regulates it. Anyone should be concerned and have an interest in WHO is making those laws that affect all of us.
My grandfather was a farmer and was incensed that his field laid fallow by order of the government and was forced to "go on the dole" rather than work his farm.😊
@@mistygrider7825…and on everyone else too. Homesteading Homeschoolers are not being more or less restricted by government than anyone else. Homeschooling regulations in America are the most relaxed and unregulated compared to most other western countries. What is the complaining about?
Honestly, this was the best 2.5ish hours I have spent on RU-vid! I'm glad you titled it like you did because it grabbed my attention. I feel rejuvenated, uplifted, moved to tears, and oh the laughter! Thanks guys. This was amazing!!! Especially what he sais about telling your girls that you love them. When I was in my mid twenties going to college, I took a psychology class and realized I needed to know if my Dad loved me because he had never said that before, it was a hole in my heart. It took a little alcohol and being at my paternal grandmother's funeral to work up the nerve to tell my father I loved him and miraculously he told me he loved me. It not only changed my future, it changed my relationship with my father for the rest of his life. Those three words are so powerful they can change the destiny of our lives. Loved, loved, loved this episode!
My goodness! Joel Salatin AND Nick Freitas!?!? Who is next??? Thomas Massie? Rand Paul? Ron Paul? John Stossel? Matt Kibbe? Dave Rubin? Joe Rogan? Andrew Heaton? I feel like after these two excellent guests the possibilities are endless! Go big!
I’ve watched Nick on reels and shorts for the last year and have loved his point of view on everything but never took the time to really research who he is. Thanks for this wonderful podcast and for pointing me in the right direction to watch more of his content.
I am 100% with the money follows the student. So many mom's could make the personal choice to stay home, raise the family and enjoy that process of being the CEO of her home. Other moms that want to work outside the home could have a business instead chasing Benjamins at a job she hates. Children don't have to be forced off to college if all they want to do is be a welder. On and on. The rebirth of the nuclear family can heal the nation.
I think this video is a learning lesson,no matter who we are, politics affects us all. This channel has ever right to speak their ideas views and thoughts. Freedom of speech for all, not just for some. We may agree or not agree with them. But I will listen and think about what is being said. Then I will come to my own conclusions, of what I think and feel about what is happening in OUR USA. We need to know what the hired politicians are doing for the American people. I pray that people will use wisdom and knowledge. I used to tell my grandchildren, I can explain it to you, but I can't make you understand it😂. May everyone have a wonderful day and enjoy the weekend.👍👊💪🤞💜🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Agree they have the right to their opinions just as we have the right not to watch it, our choice just move onto another homesteading channel who doesn’t push an agenda. I didn’t give a thumbs down I just moved on…..simple.
I agree on a lot of points but I think they should balance it with someone who sees other opinions balance and respect. Being left with a decision of 4 years of chaos, or knowing what to expect from the present situation I will select peace and wisdom . Being a homesteader I want to provide for my family’s needs and I am not one to fear - fear itself
Everybody outide the US is praying and hoping it's not going to be the Orange Man again. The other side is too old imho, but given the choice, he is definitely the lesser of two evils.
@@georgiarasmussen8343 I could not agree more! However, at least from the outside, it looks like those are the only 2 "realistic" options. Again, it should not be like this, obviously.
I 100% agree with the gratitude explanation! I’ve been there and seen family take the other route, and the difference with how the long term response is is night and day.
I homeschooled my 6 kids in south Florida.. Now they are homeschooling theirs. We schooled through hurricane Andrew. A couple of years ago we went to my grandson's homeschool graduation in Orlando. 2 of my sons like Star Wars, the oldest being very creative and made realistic Jedi costumes. We walked through the convention center and lots of people asked to take pictures with them. They gladly did. We headed over to the practice area to meet up with my grandson, and were quickly forced out because one of the graduates was afraid of people in costumes. THAT girl was coddled and would likely have a hard time surviving in the world. That is not the best example of a homeschooled student.
I subscribed to your channel yesterday after watching you with Jim Cavaleski (sp?) Unsubscribing today after watching you with Nick Freitas. I’m watching a homesteading program. Not Fox or CNN or MSNBC.
Guatemalan, watching Justin and Rebecca for about 10 years and followed Nick Freitas for about the same! Nick's 2A speech still inspires me... We we had politicians like him down here where both rjght and left want authoritarian governments.
I thought I was being singled out as a person with multiple kids! I’m not alone!! Why do people feel the need to even comment on the number of children a couple has? Is that anybody’s business? I think not.
Agreed. We have 7 children and we frequently got asked questions like “are they all yours?” “How do you handle that?” One time a lady at DQ asked if we were going to have any more, where I reported to her “not this year.” Like it’s anyones business but ours. Love my kids and the wonderful big family that we are! With all the kids spouses and grandkids we are now a family of 33! ❤️
Sadly, Republicans invited the maga devil into their house. Now we have the biggest threats this Nation has faced in quite some time. I pray every day that God will heal hearts and minds. 🙏
Very much appreciate this discussion even though I see comments here not liking it. I'm guessing, but would it be they who are emotionally driven? Thanks for sharing the conversation with Nick. I'm not for big gov, and I'm sure not for what's coming for all of humanity.
Dear subscriber that came here to say they are going to unsubscribe. First, that is your choice but before you go think about this. The guy, Nick Freitas, is a homesteader AND politician. So, if this guy was a teacher and a homesteader then he would also talk about teaching. The same thing goes with Nick. Be open-minded or skip the podcast. And, no I am not a Republican or Democrat.. I am independent. Edit- This is just a podcast NOT what his whole channel is about..
The fact that people that supposedly love this channel think they "have to leave" because of a conversation, shows what is wrong with our country. If you can't stand to hear the other side, or discuss topics that you don't agree with, then you are the cause of the divide in our country! We should all have the ability to talk to others that don't agree with us, and listen to someone who thinks differently than you. You won't spontaneously combust if you listen to them, I promise....and you might learn something.
There isn't a job where everyone is on point every single day. We've seen a range of slackers to high achievers in the private industries. The people that make up the government are made up of people like us. Expecting the government to run like a machine is unrealistic.
My aptitude test said I was to be in the “helping” industries…with an emphasis on healthcare. I was never interested in that…well, until now. But my definition of “healthcare” has changed dramatically since then.
I've watched shorts or Reels and went to RU-vid for the longer forms. I often suggest to part out some shorts from some of these podcasts and place them in reels or shorts. It would drive some folks from RU-vid shorts or Instagram/Facebook reels to your RU-vid for the full version. I watched (listened) this whole podcast while working and would love to share some shorts from all the various topics.. Great Podcast! One of my favorites to date!

Great conversation. I agree that the Postal system could definitely be run better, but it does not receive taxpayer money. It relies on the sale of stamps and other services to cover costs.
Fascinating watching a family that is essentially funding/making a life they love from the kindness of strangers, bitching about paying taxes to support their so called beloved country. Also as far as "regulations" how would they feel if someone purchased property next to them that used excessive sprays that leach into your groundwater and food growing operations. Should that not apply country wide? The point is that extremes on both sides are screwing things up.
Lol Fascinating, How every single person complaining here is subscribed MSNBC. Talk about extremes. Lol your watching and being entertained, What you mean kindness of strangers? Taxes, puff that print everything they need. Wtf are you talking about? The needless regulations is strangling everyone no-matter politics. Everyone knows what they are talking about. Nicks a good talker, and Becca and justin do their best, but I think they’ve all missed the point of public education in general.. it’s for those who can and cannot afford an education! And yes, if Becca refused to send her kids to public school without the alternative of homeschooling, she would be held responsible..
Wondering what kind of educational programs the children participate in. Even with online stuff there seems to be a lot of independent style learning going on that may need mkore monitoring?
Homeschoolers don’t want more monitoring. Nor do homesteaders. Why would anyone have to report anything to another human being, if, as Nick mentioned no one else’s rights are being infringed?
Public school is too dangerous. The politics they push. The social rules. Those are for parents to teach. And I didnt even mention the peversion. Drag queens and smutty books in their library. That is NOT academics. And my daughter who is autistic would kill herself if she had to have boys in the rest room with her.
@@seekinghim7909 it’s hard to know if the children’s rights are being infringed until they’re older and have perspective. I personally think school is so much more than book learning. Unless the parents are very motivated, their kids miss out on trying sports, hobbies, random excursions, social situations, music, experimenting….it’s all possible to incorporate with Homeschooling but often the kids just do whatever the parents do and a bit of book work. Not a very balanced or individually inspiring childhood.
@@freefahren homeschoplers i know do public school sports, FFA, select ag classes in public school (as part of FFA), school plays, private music lessons, community (not school) plays, ... And these are in a rural, agrarian community, where the school is rather small and driving to any of the music, theatre, and other lessons probably averages 30 minutes. The children are active with many different ages of their wider community. They interact with babies to geriatrics, well and feeble; not just same aged "peers" where lots of time is wasted. They can help their neighbors and extended families and learn life skills. So long as they learn to read, do basic math, and THINK FOR THEMSELVES; they will challenge and run circles around the ones who sat in public schools. Teaching kids to be followers, rather than independent thinkers, holds a country back from greatness.
Great interview and discussion. The entrepreneurship book that was mentioned about the Technician, the Manager and the Entrepreneur is "E-Myth" by Michael Gerber, it's a great book.
I am almost half of the way through this podcast, and have come to the conclusion that the complainers haven't watched past the first 20 minutes, and I think I am being generous. If you just read the complaints, you will think this is about politics. It isn't.
@@freefahren Oh please. Bob Dole sets you off? I have voted for people in both major parties. Who I voted for for President when I was 21 isn't relevant. The discussion wasn't about that - it's about parenting and authority and asking your parent for advice.
Nick's statement concerning the difference between a democracy and a republic is sooo important... Remember, a democracy can be two coyotes and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch... in a republic, that sheep has rights too!
@@lauriebraun1328 The analogy was to show that the three could vote on whether to have the sheep for lunch and majority win out... the sheep doesn't have any special rights.. it's only in the REPUBLIC that we have those rights... and we are free to do as we wish so long as it doesn't infringe on another's rights... i.e. your right to swing your arm stops somewhere short of my nose...
@Twangg1 I guess I have the right to believe what you're saying is and can be true in either. My point was exactly that. The majority is irrelevant in this case. I don't believe you have the right to put your nose in my analogy as much as you think.
SCHOOL CHOICE PLEASE!! My wife and I went to private schools and loved it. Unfortunately we can not afford to send our three kids to a private school and don't have the ability to home school.
I'm not leaving bc it's political. I'm leaving bc hearing people who have espoused to be independent thinkers are having saying things like "the postal service is government?" and "oh" in suprise of the idea that raising kids to only follow authority of them then surprised they don't know how to think independent of authority ...like that's is a novel idea. then to host a guest that talks small government but dies not broach my rights as a woman or how my rights are being revolked and my health and my daughters health are at risk now more than the entire 50 years I've been alive. it's crap, and a shame that so many people eat this up and call themselves independent thinkers too.
I enjoyed this hugely. It’s quite bizarre that, in 2024, adult people want other adult people to just tell them what they can/cant do. Do you tie your own shoes? C’min folks. Take responsibility for yourself and stop voting folks in who want to expand govt so much that you have to have a permission slip to breathe.

My husband and I have been involved on a Congressional level in politics for over 14 years. There are so many things I would love to duscuss about it but there is not enough time here to say it all. So I will say just this one thing for now. So many registered voters do not vote and those that do don't realize how important the primary election vote is. Let's say a candidate is running for Congress. You're backing him 100%. He is a great guy and really cares about the people and saving our country from all this devastation going on. So primary election time comes around and you take off to the beach and or don't even go vote for your favorite candidate, as do millions voters. So your candidate and most likely the best guy to vote for to help save our country is not going to win the primary election. Meanwhile the dirty crooked politician, who's been in Congress for 20 to 40 years or so, is going to be the one on the ballot again in November. Now the person that ran off to the beach the week of the primary election and didn't vote at all goes to vote in November and says, well the guy I wanted to vote for is not on the ballot. I wonder why he's not on the ballot? Politics is so dirty and in my opinion 95% of all politicians are bought and paid for. Parties are corrupt and only back the rich and affluent and or crooked bought and paid for, dirty money backed candidates. It is nearly impossible to get a man that is honest and clean voted into office. If you don't believe me, I encourage you run for Congress for 14 years and you will witness the dirty truth about how the process for the better part is bought and paid for, and if your clean and honest, you're not welcomed to run, you're shunned and excluded or put down. This is very true for all parties too. It is such a corrupt proscess that it must be totally cleaned out from within across all offices. We must clean the swamp and put honest trustworthy persons in every political office or our world is doomed. The people have the power to straighten out the system and make it work properly and honestly if they will research their candidates and not vote for the guy with the shiny flyers and millions of dollars in his campaign budget. GOD SAVE OUR COUNTRY! GOD FAMILY COUNTRY! ~~~ Sonya Gregory

Great conversation and very informative! I love Nick, as a 69-year-old woman, he resonates with me. I loved the short about spanking and his rebuttal to a commenter was spot on! So many Americans are riding the fence and complaining about what is going on with our schools, our food, our medical directions from the county clerk to school boards, we MUST vote, every American, and every Christian stand up and vote to reclaim the morals and values that made us the free country we used to be!!!! Great podcast!
I am glad I took the time to watch this video. It has caused me to pay attention to what people are saying and their thoughts might be different than mine, but at least it helps me understand what others think. 👍
According to Webster's Dictionary 1828, democracy is a form of government where the people hold the supreme power, either collectively or through legislation. The word democracy comes from the Greek words dēmos which means "people" and -kratia which means "rule, government".
Nick and Justin are careful not to say anything too shadow ban worthy. If you call the real issues out directly, they will remove a comment or a video. I have seen it done within the hour or within 24 hours. Both of those that I am referring to (although there is more), they were both respectful and no reason to be removed than that they are careful not to have truth too close to the target.
Why did you have to bring politics into your channel?! Things were going so well. I knew we didn't share worldviews, and that was ok with me. I watch you guys because we have a few things in common: we want to provide for ourselves, we enjoy the process of doing that, and we know nature can provide if we treat her right. I'm not too far into this, but I must say you guys are misrepresenting the opposite worldview. I grew up in a time when I could be murdered for being gay and no one would bat an eye. Thank goodness we live in a time and place where it was forced to not do that to me. Yes, we forced the issue you cannot kill us and now we have the ability to live our lives open and for the most part be safe. Sometimes you have to do that. Sometimes you have to force people not to have slaves. Sometimes you have to force people not to put Jews in gas chambers and not to put Japanese people in camps after taking all their stuff. Sometimes you have to force people to not pollute lakes, rivers, and creeks. Sometimes you have to force people to be safe and use safe materials when building bridges. Is this a lack of freedom? No. It's a lack of putting other people through hell so that you can either gain wealth or spread whatever religion or -ism you choose to. It is freedom from gas chambers, camps, deadly water and food, child labor, etc. We can disagree and that's ok, but don't spin it so it sounds like we are against freedom and a more perfect union. I've been on this earth for 48 years and was raised to love this country and the ideals our founders strived towards. I'll be damned if I continue subscribing to someone who propagates the tired and worn out bs that my side is against freedom and everything this country stands for. If you believe that then you don't know a thing about history.
Please tell me the times when gays were legally killed in the USA for being gay. And keep in mind that it was governments that made laws punishing homosexuality. Yes, we need laws to prevent people from doing dangerous or evil things. Take another look at what is going on in our government - by both Democrat and Republican lawmakers - and honestly come to the conclusion that government isn't attempting to shut down free expression. There is plenty of evidence. PS: Did you even watch this? He literally says, "I'm not saying that there is no role for government." and this podcast isn't primarily about politics.
Americans will only find solutions to problems when we don't think in terms of "sides". I'm sorry this video upset you so much. But what is so wrong with a live and let live point of view? I, for one, believe in your right to live your life as you see fit as long as it isn't immoral or illegal. Does that put me on a side? I'm an American. That's my side and as long as you are an American I'm on your side under the aforementioned stipulations.😊 We were "one nation under God". We need to be that again.

There should be NO political discussion in homesteading channels. The vast majority come here to get away from the political nonsense and agendas we are being bombarded on a daily basis by both sides of the aisle plus the television pundits. This should be a free zone and stick to the homestead life.
@@justanothermicheleAbsolutely not implying that. What I am implying is there has to be a safe zone from the troubles we faced on our daily life. You can get politics every single day 24 hours a day on TV / internet / social media etc., but it doesn’t have to be here. We need a peaceful place without politics to be able to breathe fresh air. Otherwise, we will not be able to turn to a place where we can be at peace. Is that too much to ask? Or do you want constant 24/7 political discourse in everything in your life? Look at the comments as is turning into Republicans vs Democrats. Is this what we want in a homestead channel? Let Off Grid with Doug and Stacy or Appalachian Homestead with Patara deal with the politics, fear mongering and conspiracy theories, but NOT here. By no means I am suggesting not to discuss or disagree in homesteading style or practices, but completely stay away from politics as we will NEVER agree.
@Miguel195211 I'll admit, I get sick of politics, especially during election years. What works for me is choosing not to watch certain videos. It's usually pretty easy to tell what a video is going to be about by the title. I can control what I watch or listen to. What I can't control is what others choose to talk about. If I really want to escape politics, I don't turn on youtube or the TV. I usually find something productive to do with my time rather than complain what others do or say on their own time or their own platforms. Working in the garden, reading a book, going for a walk, listening to music, cooking a great meal, playing with your kids/grandkids, take up painting or some other creative hobby are all great ways to escape the political chaos of this world.
