Some of his alternate picking runs were flashier, and the lack of hybrid made the percussiveness totally different but... I think he's got you pretty much pegged. :D
Nick is so amazing. Everyone needs to go buy all this stuff. He's such a nice guy too. He even has transcriptions with solos from all his albums on his website. We need more guitarists like him!
Good presentation ;~) from England [don't play if your hands hurt, many years ago I was studying for a classical guitar exam with RSI in my right hand, and I persisted in spite of the pain, and even after the doctor's investigated the problem and told me to rest my right hand... I still carried on and took the exam.... I should have rescheduled the exam because it affected my performance badly! And then it took forever to heal ]
Whoa! Very intense players all of them! I have both Petrucci and Richardson on the waiting list, I'll add Loomis to it. Thabks for the suggestion!!! :)
Great video! Could you explain the bridge/tugging technique a little better? Do you pull it up or push it down? What kind of bridge is on your Suhr guitar? :)
Thanks man! Sure thing; I'll get to it soon enough! I pull the bridge up. The bridge is a Gotoh 510 (I actually learned this from one of my viewers :D ! I used to think it was a Wilkinson bridge :D
Hey Juan, Incredible video man! I’ve been learning a lot from your channel lately, I would love to see how to play like Aaron Marshall video, do you see it possible?
Interesting how... I bet even Nick himself don't know all that information about his playing! I'm not trying to say he can't play modes or can't operate with modal interchanging (which he does very good), it's just from what I've understood he learned to play without a proper theory education and all that stuff! That's just fascinates me, as it is clearly shows how talented he is as a songwriter and guitarist both!
Hi, Your videos are really great and detailed I've suscribed ,liked and hit the notification bell. Could you do a video on Martin Miller's techniques if you time? Thanks
+Mark Derby That guy is a beast! I'll add him to rhe waiting list. That list keeps getting longer and scarier with each new name! Thanks for the suggestion!
+Rod Rodrigues Thanks man! Im a bit on hold at the moment with the situation at my island. I live in Puerto Rico and still have no services (water, power, internet). Ill get back to making videos as soon as I find access to a place where I can work! Thanks again man!!!
Juan, excellent video brother ! ! Thanks for sharing this peek in to what makes Nick sound so good........ the only thing I felt was not working was your tone. Kinda screechy.
+Sakki Thanks man! Yeah, I was using a different (more primitive) method for recording when I recorded this vid. Hopefully it's been getting better as of late (though I know I still have a lot to learn about making videos) :)
Hi I'm just going at the modal interchange chart and after V7 on harmonic minor and melodic minor it shows bIVmajor7 and IVm7(b5) I'm new to all this but I'm wondering if it should say bVImaj7 and VIm7 (b5).
+Mark Derby I checked the table just to make sure everything was right and it is. Melodic minor has VIm7(b5) and VIIm(7b5). Let me know if you have any more questions! :)
Mil gracias hermano! Añadí a ambos a la lista de espera y me encantaría trabajar a ambos! El de Jeff ya lo venía planeando que es posible que lo suba un poco en la lista. Mil gracias por la sugerencia!
