Nah, I'm not making excuses for him but from a fellow introvert's perspective, I can understand that it's difficult for him to have eye contact with a stranger, it's even more difficult if that's his fan. It's just not a natural thing for him and from what I have observed, Nick is kind of an awkward type of celebrity who tries hard to keep a straight face and be friendly at the same time. He did make an effort to be friendly by throwing out some competitive comments but it's just not his thing.

LolMar SL I remember I randomly watched his mini documentary on his solo album and I got exactly that impression. Like he just seems like he’s all about himself and I think just gives off terrible energy/vibe. Not the kind of person you want to be around. I’m surprised he has “super fans”. Like I can get maybe liking some of his music, but as far as like loving him I see the appeal for someone like Shawn mendes because he’s so kind and amazing to his fans, but if this is how he treats fans I don’t know why anyone would like that

I don’t think he looks miserable. He’s usually shy and flustered with compliments, or at least that’s what I’ve noticed in past interviews. He just feels a little awkward in these kinds of situations, I think.

I’ve been a fan of Nicks for the majority of my life (so much so that I got all the questions right) and I can understand why people are saying that he looks disinterested, but honestly that’s just his personality. He’s nice, but he’s competitive and very introverted. He’s not mean, just didn’t know how to act. His behavior was normal from what I’ve seen being his fan for the past 10 years.

This reminds me of my cousin’s wedding. I noticed that in some videos, Nick looks like he’s not interested in what he’s doing. There are videos of him where he’s very energetic and very friendly though. But I think he’s just that type of person who isn’t good at hiding when he’s not necessarily in the mood. And I remember Kevin saying that Nick doesn’t like to be touched sometimes. Even by his brothers.
