Nick is an awesome caster. Proof its technique and not brute strength for distance casting.

Thank you! Correction for the video, the only part you propel forward in a spey cast is from the tip of the rod to the apex of the V loop.

Can you explain what you mean by shooting head configuration. Did you cut the line to make a shooting head.

@@davidbenjamin5356 I can't remember the wording as this was a while ago. I'm guessing this was discussing the Long Haul Line?

@@rederiver6974 it's ok. I checked out the lines on your website. It's self explanatory really. Thanks

I’ve bought a floating line from eBay, very thin running line, very thick belly relative to a standard wf7 and a short front taper I guess around 3ft. My question is what would the best leader system be? Thanks

@trevorluft1763 which line did you purchase please? I personally use the tapered leaders we sell on the site, I prefer to use a 12ft and cut 2-3ft off either end and make a small loop on the thin end to connect the tippet.

@@trevorluft1763 Ok, sorry that's not one of our lines, thought it was odd when you mentioned the 3ft front taper, but wondered if you were on about our Wind Cheetah which is a DT line but has different tapers on each end.

@@rederiver6974 I was just asking for advice for the line I bought, I think it’s more like a spay taper, the head is very thick

@trevorluft1763 yeah just a bit of confusion on my behalf. Either a furled leader, a poly leader or a tapered nylon leader will transfer the energy from the line to the fly better, basically any tapered leader will help you, I'd try to find something around 6-7ft to make your front taper 9-10ft total
