JoeKing K I believe from an interview on triple J he mentioned his music was getting too personal to him and it meant more to him to put it under his actual name rather than Chet Faker, his stage name. I don't see too much of a difference in style, but I can feel how much more involved this song is. I love it and haven't been able to stop listening since he released it, gifted man. ❤️

Well, it's okay, not the usual stuff we are used to hearing from this man, but frankly, I only really enjoyed the part from 5:26 to the end, just my opinion.
He released it under Nick Murphy not his alter ego Chet Faker. His art is expected to be different. Same with Eric Prydz (Cirez D) some like one but no the other. All in all you are entitled to your opinion but I wanted to share that thought.
Artist can band themselves to whatever synthesis they fantasize, it's all based on them temporal feeling or enthusiasm. The point is all of them need to expand in theirs audience target. But see, a little part of them, the rare ones, the real composers, they dont stay attached like that, changing and runnig for some expancion or digging to more and more public an famous. This rare ones, they never change becouse they are unique. wen a musician change stuff, name, style visual, its just one more try. Be permanent is different..... the only thing i have to say about this song and its compositors doesn't metter if its Faker or whatever... congratulation for the new try! go ahead Hero, you are one of the less that have courage to do changes, to move foward to the immutable step!

Credit to Jesse Strobel, he said: you need that build up to really appreciate the end though. the man knows what hes doing I agree, its much more emotional, much more intense with that build up into the end.
In the 1st part i didn't recognise the Old Cher, from 05:25 i really like the vibe. Chet keep the old stuff and cannot wait for the album. I enjoyed your concert 2 years ago in Poland and hopefully you will be again with more good music.
For someone who never really enjoyed Chet Faker, other than maybe 2-3 songs, i'm really digging this. Dave Harrington (from Darkside) had a huge influence on this. I understand why his fans don't like it, personally I love it.
I think this is spot on. The melancholy of the second half is as if someone is staying behind and watching as the other progresses with unstoppable force, the first part, which has so much energy and positivity. Also the second is more reminiscent of Chet which supports this idea further. I like that this was done in this order. And it personally speaks to me where I am in life right now. Only other ideas include him talking about a girl / lover, or going from talking about himself to the listener. But those aren’t as strong as the one you suggested.
Really liked the whole track, especially from 5:22 to the end. I really don't care what you're gonna call yourself just as long as you go on making music because that's what this is all about, and we can always go back and revisit your previous albums although I'm pretty sure your best work is still ahead of us ;)
