Alabama is way to scared to take a chance losing to a powerful team like Boise State on the Blue. Play nobody Nowhere. the Tide Must Hide. Beat Arkansas, Miss St and West Carolina then tell everyone you are good. Talk is cheap with your participation award trophies.
@@getbig2501 well, you obviously don't know what the hell you are talking about. The conference play alone doesn't allow any team to hide. (2) The season opener every year there's been top ranked teams we've played. BEATING them usually, really well i might add.
@@margaretnoles3819 The Mountain West beat the weak SEC in head to head 2 years ago and all the SEC teams only play with home field advantage... Alabama is the most over rated team in the history of sports
Nothing about the post tornado community service, Nick’s kids and other community service. He has been way more than football. That’s one of the reasons he and Ms Terrie are so special. 🐐🐘🏆🎊👏❤️‼️
@faydenereed4056 LOL. To walk off the field and not shake hands at the end of the Super Bowl is an absolute contradiction to what you typed. He cant win the biggest games he has started and he is Cam Newton type of poor sport.
I'm not an Alabama fan and never will be. But anyone, and I mean ANYONE who doesn't respect Nick Saban and recognize him as one of the greatest football minds to ever coach, is not a true football fan. Saban is a mastermind, who's greatest skill may be how he alters the mindset of every player, causing self motivation, discipline and excellence on the field. He says "We don't keep practicing until we get it right, we keep practicing until we can't get it wrong" (paraphrasing). He's very unique and an amazing cultivator of young men.
Much respect and appreciation for your thoughtful comment. I've been an Alabama fan all of my life. There was some very difficult times at Bama and I didn't know if we would ever get out of those dark years, especially after the Mike Price thing. As Bama fans we are truly blessed and to be honest we dont know how good we have it. The fans that expect a national championship every year tick me off. Their unreasonable expectations are purely ridiculous, I wish they would take in each moment presently and realize how good we got it. I'll never take Nick Saban for granted, Never! One day we will look back and be in awe of the accomplishments we've had over the year and realize just how great of a coach, person, and leader Nick Saban is. I am in awe despite the irrational Bama fans. Anyway I appreciate your appreciation. I hope you are doing well and God bless you and Roll tide!!! Lol
@@nylontusk1289 Thanks for the nice words. Those unreasonable fans need to just spend ONE season as a Tennessee (UT) or Vanderbilt fan. THEN they might realize what a stellar program and coach you have. My best friend is a die-hard Bama fan, but we are both Nick Saban fans. God bless my friend and good luck headed to the championship!
People talk about Saban like he's an asshole when those moments percolate inside his mind and then he releases that frustration of wanting his players to keep from making mistakes. It's not like he's getting pissed about something that makes no sense, I mean he's getting pissed because these players practice these situations all year long, and to me, it's the equivalent of having your son or daughter not knowing how to tie their shoes when they're 15 years old, and they keep stepping on the strings and falling on their faces when they shouldn't be lol. (Wouldn't get as angry at a 15 year old like he does a 21 year old though) And you're exactly right about how Saban affects the mental side of these players. I remember Saban talking about when he was at Michigan St, and he wanted to understand the psychological part of the players mind. I don't recall the professor's name that he learned from. But I believe he kept in touch with that guy, even when he was at LSU, The Dolphins, and even here with Alabama. And I respect your firm stance on never being and Alabama fan, and I respect you even more that you appreciate and give Saban credit for the amazing coach that he is. This is Alabama! It's a freaking extremely difficult task to try and get these "Bear Bryant for lifers" to ever agree that Saban has out coached the Bear. And that he definitely has!
Fitzpatrick is a better guy for Saban too! He was fussed at so is everyone he’s an emotion man demanding that you do your best but your life will be better for knowing the man!
Nick Saban is the best investment the University of Alabama has ever made !!! 6 National Championships at Alabama and is still going strong !! 🐘 Roll Tide Roll 🐘
I agree he truly is the best investment. I mean he's worth 100 million dollars in my opinion, maybe even more because it's almost been something you cant even put a price own. How much is true greatness worth? Idk 🤷♂️ but your so right the best investment in Alabama history of all time. Roll Tide!!!
Been a Bama fan since the 70s. I've lived through some great moments in Bama history and some times where it was hard to be a Bama fan. This video was superb. Your work is really awesome. I think you're striving to "be the best street sweeper you can be". Coach Saban would be proud. I'm sure I watched the SEC championship and Iron bowl 10 times. Roll Tide and thank you!
What’s amazing is that most of his angriest moments happen when they are up by 20 😂😂😂. That’s why they win close games, because he NEVER allow his players to feel too comfortable. High pressure at all times. I love it.
I'm a Kentucky fan, this is the greatest coach of all time! This man wants nothing more than his team to DOMINATE the game of football! He defends his players and is brutally honest with how every single one of his players play each and every day! Love it!
What makes coach Saban so great is that no matter how big his team is up, he's gonna coach until the clock reads zeros. On the other hand, when his team battling great opponents, he stays calm and is always reassuring his players.
Yes - and he definitely rode with Jalen Hurts through everything - Nick got soo tired of hearing the questions about when is Tua going to play - I am a big Jalen Hurts fan but I knew Tua should have been the starter in 2017 - the respect Saban showed Jalen is probably the reason Jalen came back to Bama in 2018 instead of leaving as soon as Tua threw that TD against Georgia in the National Championship Game - Jalen should have been transferring as soon as that game was over, but he stuck it out and basically waisted a season in 2018 - but things happen for a reason, because Bama doesn't beat Georgia in 2018 if Jalen is not there - Salute to Saban, Jalen, and Tua how they handle the situation in 2017 and 2018 - all 3 of them handled themselves like True Professionals

As an Alabama fan, we are so blessed to have Coach Saban. We are so blessed to have had the Best two college football coaches ever..... The Bear, and the Goat
Yeah there were a handful of times in the 2020 season the old Saban came out, typically after a long 3rd down conversion by the other team, we call those "3rd and Golding"
Nick Saban gets really pissed off when people assume Alabama is going to win the game.. and i think that is part of why he wins all the games.. he is never underprepared
So proud he’s a West Virginia native.Coach Saban has accomplished so much. He’s a true coaching legend.I liked the part he was talking about second chances.Great human being.Good luck to Alabama in the national title game!Roll Tide!!
Proud to have this West Virginian coaching for Alabama. We ain't known for much here in Alabama but when people think of Alabama, they think of college football and I can't express how grateful I am for this man. He's a great guy.
The best clip to me with Coach Saban making sure he talked to that player from Arkansas after the game because if I remember correctly that player from Arkansas had lost his father that week and Coach Saban just wanted to say a few words and try to help the young man. I know people love to say coach Saban doesn't have a heart but that's the furthest thing from the truth....
From one who took an easy path rather than a path chasing my dream - my advice - go after what you want out of life. I’m now 61 years old and wonder what if. My talent was in another sport (motorcross). Same rules apply. I have regrets. Regrets are served cold. And it doesn’t go away. All this said - go for it brother with everything that you have. Leave no stone unturned. And thanks for your service.
Speech at the very beginning, very first one, is an excellent speech and great way to look at a situation. Granted these guys are 18 and up, but let’s be real, most are still kids. Many in the media need to listen to that and let it sink in. Looking at you Paul Finebaum
It just goes to show that even the greatest human beings in their field of endeavor have their flaws. You praise in public, and admonish in private- and you don't lose control of yourself on national TV. That said, Nick Saban is the greatest coach in football history, period.
I get what you’re saying and I agree to an extent, but I don’t think he ever actually loses control of himself whenever he seems to be flipping out on the sidelines. I believe it’s mostly all calculated, just like pretty much everything he ever says or does that his team or potential recruits may see. I know that may seem like a crazy thing to say, because losing your temper isn’t something that people generally do on purpose, but I’d bet anything on that being the case. The main reason I think that is because you never see him “lose his cool” like that in crucial moments when the game is on the line. It’s pretty much always when his team is up big, and the game is basically already over, when people are more likely to get lazy and not pay as much attention to detail, that he goes absolutely berserk like that on the sidelines. I’m sure most fans have noticed that in tense situations, when people have a tendency to panic and make mistakes, and when enthusiasm isn’t an issue, because everyone is fired up and full of adrenaline, he seems to always stay cool, calm, and collected. For someone to be better at what he does than anyone else who’s ever done it, he has to be great at every little aspect of it. Coach Saban not only knows how to get the best players, and how to make them great, but he also understands the psychology of what it takes to get the very best out of the great players he has. Almost everything he says and does is calculated. Even a lot of what he says at his press conferences is to send a message to his team. It’s all a part of the process, because that’s what it takes to be a champion. He knows this better than anyone else, of course, and that’s why he’s the GOAT 🐐
@@chriswebster24 It's possible that his outbursts are calculated. Frankly, I doubt it, because I've seen him go beet red at times. But, it remains possible. However, even if it is calculated, you don't put people on the spot on national TV. The "praise in public, admonish in private" is a very old axiom which has stood the test of time. That said- even if his outbursts are NOT calculated; even if he does lose control of himself, it only further demonstrates the truth that all human beings are flawed somehow- and that, despite that flaw, Nick Saban remains the gold standard by which all other football coaches are judged. Calculated outbursts or not, he's likely to remain that standard for many years to come.
As a fan of another SEC team, I was taught to loathe Alabama from an early age. However, if you don't have a deep respect and admiration for Nick Saban, you are not a true fan of football. Nick is a legendary coach, possibly the best to ever coach college football. More importantly, he's a good man. And that's the highest honor a man can strive for.
@@izallgood37 keep it up then, if you’re passionate about it, it’ll all fall together, you can make a good career of it. Good luck, God bless, and thanks for the great content.
I should despise him as an LSU fan, but I can't. His moral principles are totally in tact. He cares about these students instead of looking at them as play pawns to advance a career. Gives examples of their future success. He's proud of it. What can I say to despise this man? I hate Bama, but I respect Saban.
I love the comment about the jeans. When they first appeared in stores, my husband stood staring at a Mannequin in Penny’s department store. The salesperson approached my husband and asked if she could help him. He said, “When do you start taking trade-ins?” It took her a few seconds to get it and they had a good laugh about how time changes.
Nick, you have done an awesome job coaching. I have said for years that You, The Bear, Tom Osborne and my coach Bill Snyder are in a league of your own, at the Top of any and all coaches, I will never forget the way you treated an Arkansas player after the game. THAT is a Top of the Line Coach.
There is so much that can be learned from coach Saben. Whether you like him or not he is very well worth listening too. I know of no one who has had such a positive impact on young adults lives. Thanks coach for you being you.
Straight-up legend! I wish I could have been yelled at by him! Never be another like him! The gold standard! Summa cum laude! Thanks for everything coach!
It's crazy but necessary to think back to the Franchione/Mike Price/Mike Shula days...back when Bama was on probation and sanctioned by the NCAA. We were 4-9 in 2003. We simply were not good. I remember just hoping that Bama would make it to a bowl game. Times have changed....and for the better. Roll Tide. We haven't always been where we are now.
I graduated in 2003. But four years of high school, Alabama wasn't really good. I hated my Auburn friends for talking crap, but it's apart of what's so great about Alabama and college football. When I was in the Marines, I was stationed in Okinawa during the 2004 season. My buddies couldn't understand why I would wake up at 3 or 4 am Sunday morning, just to watch an Alabama game. They just couldn't get it......
A Sudden Illness, SeaBiscuit, Unbroken, The Tender Bar, The Wire, Treme, and Red Tails are really important works for me. John was an English teacher and I imagined in mind whether him and Nick Saban would do a workshop on the importance of these works with Joe Burrow and maybe Doug Flutie and Hershel Walker. Sport's Literature matters.
I have watched the story of the Alabama Crimson Tide 2020 2021 at least 12 times and will probably watch it again best video about the tide that's been put out there thank you very much and roll tide
Coach day!! Aspire to be this man.. I know it’s Bama and I’m a buckeye but fuck!! I respect this man and every team he builds each year.. the goat indeed!!
Yeah, like Vince Lombardi said many, many years ago:"It's not practice makes perfect, IT'S PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!" And you practice it until you can't get it wrong. However, there is always a defense trying to blow it up.
I really must say "I miss Coach Saban already". I'd noticed he didn't have the drive, the passion & the ANGER on the sideline that pushed the Alabama football teams to be their best on every play. It seemed like the team was constantly screwing up and he lacked the passion & drive to Coach them into NOT screwing up. And so arguably, One of the best coaches to ever coach college football retires at age 72. Although he pressured all other teams to become better by coaching his teams & coaches to be the best. I sincerely believe Nick Saban greatly improved college football dramatically BUT that with the SEC bringing Texas & Oklahoma into the conference & dissolving the previous East/West divisions in the process AND with all the NIL deals going on & the playoffs going to a larger 12 team playoff & the way players are getting switched all around with the transfer portal that Saban just ultimately got tired of the constant aggravation of change in college football. He's probably hired & lost more coordinators to head coaching positions than any other coach in history. Like a coaching rehab for Head Coaches that had been fired too. Kiffin and Sarkisian come to mind. And Kirby Smart was "smart" to wait for the perfect opportunity which was Georgia. I really don't know what is going to happen with new head coach Deboer. If he can coach Bama players as good as he did at Washington then we could maybe see a NATTY the first year. The first thing that the offense needs is a center that can snap the ball right every time.
