I was so sad to hear about Norm’s death. It reminded me of that tragedy.

That moving to Reno story broke my heart. He truly was a gentle soul.

Norm had the biggest balls for going on the view and calling the clintons murderers

Norm's always been one of my favorite comics, but this Reno story has solidified him as the GOAT to me. He realizes his friend is messing with him about moving to Reno, so he decides to just lean into it. Even calls him up later to be like, "so, when we moving to Reno?" Nick's like, "Norm, I'm not moving to reno, it was a joke." So what does Norm do, knowing he's probably not got long. Confide in a mutual acquaintance how much he's looking forward to moving to Reno with Nick, on the off chance they'll bring it up after he's gone.

I don't think Norm ever knew how highly he was regarded. He was his own genre of comedy.

How to make a person love Norm more. Let Nick talk about him.

You have to admire his commitment to a bit, he set up the "I didn't even know he was sick" bit while battling cancer

I saw a clip of Nick during the pandemic and he said he was depressed because his friends were dying. This was before Norm passed. I'm so sorry, Nick.

I'm 41 years old and never in my life had I ever shed a tear when hearing about the death of a celebrity. Norms passing changed that. It feels like we've just witnessed the extinction of a beautiful species of animal of which only one specimen is known to have ever existed. We miss you Norm. Always will. ❤️

That's how big of a guy Norm Macdonald is, 2 months later and still relevant. Never met him, but definitely one of those guys that when they pass, no one can fill that void accept that person, an original, lost book as Theo has once said. When Norm passed, I watched more Norm videos and stand up than I have ever watched in my lifetime of Norm. God bless him.

So I’m only 5”6 135. My wife and I had the pleasure of hanging out with Mr McDonald in Vegas. He looked at my wife and said, SO, What’s it like Fu$&@“! A 14 yr old boy? What a guy! I’ll cherish the half hr we spent with him for life, he truly was a wonderful human being. We love and miss you Norm.

He does a great Norm impression. Sometimes when I’m watching some of his old stuff on snl I forget he’s dead. And hearing that Reno story, good lord. Rest In Peace to the great Norm Macdonald.

Crazy to think Norm was battling Cancer on his own for an entire decade & didn't tell anyone. That is one tough human being, he would rather make people laugh than make them sad that he was sick

I'm still convinced that Norm lost the Weekend Update gig and later quit SNL because of his constant shitting on the Clintons and not because of OJ. The Simpson case was being widely joked about and OJ mocked on the Tonight Show and Late Show, but Conan and Leno weren't fired.

i fucking cried, i was driving with my GF and was listening to XM and they were playing his sanfran set and i was telling her how great he was then they said "remembering norm" and i was just like nooooooooooooooooooooo. i got a little teary eyed and i felt stupid cause i didnt know him but i loved knowing he was breathing the same air at the same time as me

Norm was a deity level troll, and his best trolls are with people whom he knew didn't know were being trolled by him. And, this includes Nick and the retiring to Reno idea. And, Lori Jo, whether Norm put her up to it or not, is trolling Nick on Norm's behalf from beyond the grave, without Nick having clued in yet.

Norm was the only celebrity that passed that actually hurt my heart.

Dear God how I loved that man! Norm was funny as hell but there was just something so special about him. I'm sad he's no longer with us but I'm grateful he's no longer in any more pain. He's in a much better place than we are 🙏❤️

I live in the UK and I introduced a lot of my friends to Norms comedy over the years. We lost the British comedy legend Sean Lock to cancer this year as well. I feel Norm had so much more to contribute to the world from his unique lens. I just hope that Adam Eget and the other people involved with his show are doing okay.

Can't even put into words how much Norm meant to me. Had the same reaction as Nick. Buddy posted it into our group chat and I just started sobbing. You were one of a kind Norm and I'll miss ya forever.

I deeply respect norm for his commitment to himself. There's a solitude in committing to long jokes that will only be understood later on, or even after your death. His ability to be him fully and truthfully always is so commendable. I miss him and hope wherever he is he's better off.

I LOVE hearing stories about Norm. They’re just as funny as watching Norms bits.

One thing I loved about Norm is that he never made fun of his friends when others expected him to. His bit on the Bob Saget roast was genius. If someone expected Norm to perform a different way, he did the opposite. Every single time. From the roast, to the Iowa State Fair, to his podcast and show. Even when Spade had him on his show and they wanted him to blast OJ and he refused to do it and claimed he was only guilty of being the “greatest man to ever carry a football.” One thing I did notice was that he LOVED Nick. On his podcast and show they had him on and he was so good. Norm loved Nick and you can tell it was mutual. Norm is my #1 comedian of all time. Yes that’s subjective, I love Carlin, and Pryor and Chappell and I really like Theo. But no one could get me laughing like Norm. The best of the best.

That 'The View' interview is legend. I was watching it in real time. He had a short lived sitcom on ABC. That's why they had him on. He just tore the couch cushions up and scattered them all over the room. They didn't know what to do with him. "Let's talk about football!" "No, let's talk about MANslaughter!" lol RIP, Norm.
