MJ 1st block 1:04:44 2nd block 1:01:45 3rd block 1:15:51 1st block maybe goaltend but that’s the point it’s subjective but there’s games where MJ got a steal, block, assist, rebound and it wasn’t credited/counted. Jordan was like an ALIEN from another planet. He made the entire league look slow... he was so athletically superior with his physical gifts it just wasn't fair... his speed 4.3 forty, his jumping ability 48 inch vertical, his gauntlet sized hands combined with his skill set was like nothing we had ever seen. Combine that with his mentality and mindset with his love for the game and it was a wrap... G.O.A.T I don't think we will see anything like Jordan in another 100n years. The only thing that Haberstroh's article proves is that the biggest majority of DPOY candidates in the 1987/88 season (and throughout NBA history) have recorded more steals and blocks at home than on the road and that Jordan's home steals and blocks in 1987/88 were marginally higher than the number of steals and blocks his fellow DPOY candidates recorded in their home stadiums. Establishing a disparity between home and road stats is NOT PROOF of home stat inflation, players generally perform better at home, that’s not unique to MJ and it’s not unique to one NBA Era...less back-to-back games, no travel, more rested, often more energised in front of a home crowd etc. The ONLY way to prove that Jordan's steals and blocks at home were inflated in 1987/88 is to analyse the video footage for ALL FORTY ONE home games and compare each block and steal on film to the official box score. That same process then needs to completed for each of the other DPOY candidates from that season, to determine if home stat inflation actually occurred and if so, was that inflation limited to just one player. That video footage (of ALL 41 Games, for each DPOY candidate) then needs to be made available for independent review. Haberstroh didn't do any of that! He eliminated THIRTY FIVE home games from his 'analysis' and the 5 games he claims he did analyse (sourced from Latvia on VHS tapes) he chose not to make that footage available for independent evaluation, so there is absolutely NO EVIDENCE that his claims are true. If Haberstroh is so confident that the footage on those VHS tapes supports his allegations, why is he withholding those VHS tapes? Until he provides ACTUAL VIDEO PROOF that can be independently reviewed, then there's NO justification for disregarding ANY of Jordan's blocks and steals from his DPOY season. Evidence matters and Haberstroh provided none.
They could start by just proving that their claims have any merit in the six games from the article. Because it's already out that in two of the games there is no discrepancy. Therefore, they should post the other 4 games so we can all see for ourselves.

Haberstroh (and Klutch) set out to invalidate MJ's 1987/88 DPOY, failed spectacularly, and instead proved that he should also have won the award in 1986/87!
We never seen a DPOY win with the amount of steals/blocks LBJ had combined. It would have been the lowest totals we ever seen, he definitely didn’t get snubbed.

Gasol was the one who got snubbed from all 1st def. The grizzlies won 56 games that year and Rudy played half the season who was their leading scorer. No other player avg more than 15 and only 3 other players avg double figures. The biggest denominator in those 56 wins was gasol anchoring that defense. Lebron would never anchor a defense to 56 wins while nobody on the team avg 20. Lebron and his camp tried it with that weak narrative
