This could be the most beautiful Nickel Creek song I've ever heard about being in love with being in love. It's too perfect. I've listened to it on repeat at least 100x by now.
God, the upload date got me. I remember as a little kid when this album came out and a few years later when Nickel Creek came to our town and we got to watch them sing my favorite songs live.
Holy god, sat down and transcribed the lyrics to this and then just sat here and then just basked in melancholy. So, so powerful, and so good. Talk about a self-indictment.

The fiddle plays such an important part of the musical tapestry of the Firefly series and Serenity film. The music of the TV show is a wonderful soundtrack in itself.
I was never into Country or Bluegrass, but you guys add this twist that makes it so nice to listen to. It has so much ear candy and it has lyrics that I can relate to! Love love love.
As a drummer who enjoys playing a variety of musical styles I find myself addicted to applying drums to Nickel Creek material. I enjoy playing to NC more than anything else. This group does something that no other group has ever done for me. They combine technical wizardry on their instruments while also playing truly beautiful music that isn't compromised by all of that skill. I hope Nickel Creek keep churning out great music for years to come! I certainly appreciate them...
I've waited 5 years for this, I have enjoyed the solo careers of these members in the meantime very much but I'm excited all over again that they're back again.
My sister got me into NC just after they went on hiatus... needless to say, I was heartbroken. But, I understood their reasons, and am overjoyed at their return. So much love from my ears, heart, and mind to you wonderful people. :)

Saw them live in 2006ish in grand junction CO. very talented and excellent live!!! One of the best concerts I've ever been to! I believe they are two brothers and a their sister. They have a good sense of humor- very entertaining for sure
This song, this music- it's got this effect on me unlike any other music. Transports me somewhere else, and it's got very little to do with the lyrics- it's Something very beautiful and magical, and probably my favorite song. Will probably be for a while which is a big deal considering my song favorite changes often. All in all this song is something akin to -is not more than- soul wrenching. Just so perfect.

There are so many "Reasons Why" I'm excited. Even if it takes a while for the whole album to come out, I "Can't Complain." I never thought they'd even think to make a new album. "I Should've Known Better."

I would think Chris Thile would be relieved to be back with Nickel Creek for a while and embrace a more simple more beautiful style. With his other projects he always has to be the fastest gun in the land, and the most esoteric.

I've got pretty much the same as you (and thanks for "long legged icon," couldn't get that for the life of me). The big change I've got is "Love of mine, when you die, I tell myself that you never lived." Where you have "Oh, but she gave us to each other," I have "The love that she gave us to each other," but I'm not sure if that's right.

Yes it's right up there. There is one tune "Hayloft" that really breaks tradition but I find myself enjoying it more and more. This album is no let-down!
I'm trying to find a song I heard while sampling"beats" headphones @ a place that is long gone.it was on "a dotted line" it was Amazing & I wish I could describe the song with more detail but only heard it once. anyone have any ideas? guess I'll just listen to entire CD.🎼 ? Alex Nuttall this is two years old but I'm working through this record on guitar. it is! dropped 3 half steps down. mainly in C, B, and G (relative to the tuning) I have the chords for it.
It seems like Nickel Creek wasn't inspired for this album. The "Light House" seems like a song inspired by a story told to NC or a member in the group, and then wrote a song. Maybe I have to listen to the songs again! MPBWY S
Just have to say its a different time of life for these guys. The energy and enthusiasm of youth will generally lend a more vibrant feel. Is that what may be different here for your ears?

A)Clearly you haven't listened to the entire album. Destination, Rest of My Life are both kickin' songs, and the cover Where is Love Now is just a gorgeous song. B)The body of work of these "kids" both together and side projects affords them not to be compared to Tears for Fears.
Noel Ransom I wasn't comparing Nickel Creek to tears for fears. TFF or mostly Roland writes a lot. Everybody loves a happy ending, but it never got the attention. Now I don't know where" a boy from school" came from. Was in a Lowes Hardware store and it was playing. Would'nt NC be considered country?
