Clément Collier depends on perspective. goodness is something relative. i think Nickelback is as good as an average pop band. if you think mainstream is listenable, then they're a decent band. if not, yes they suck. But rock fans generally have higher hopes than regular pop fans.

Plus there's plenty of other artists who are assholes who people still enjoy, folks like Eddie Van Halen, Axl Rose, Ted Nugent, Lou Reed, Kanye West, Chris Brown...I'm sure I'm only scraping the top of that list. Hell, John Lennon was a major asshole, reputedly. This shouldn't take away from the good artists out there, to be clear. For every Axl Rose there's an Alice Cooper. For every Kanye West there's a Method Man. For every Eddie Van Halen there's a Dave Grohl. As with everything, there's good and bad everywhere.

Nickleback, when this came out I was homeless, in and out of jail, and unhealthy. Now I have a house, a good job, and a husband. Eh, I can understand people feeling a band's style grew stale, but relying on the same tone too much is different from being sellouts or outright lousy. I would've preferred it if they'd stuck to their guns on a couple of things, such as the original video for "Never Again", but they aren't the first band to kowtow to that kind of marketing pressure and in a way it's understandable.

+Codi Baker Bieber doesn't have talent. You can't say that heavily edited music is talent. What people hate most about him is that he was basically a product that was pushed by a big corporation. He was just pushed to make money. That and well, later, he became an asshole second only yo Kanye.

Idgaf what people say or think and thank God that chapter of my life is behind me. Been rocking this band unapologetically since 2001. Maybe it's because I was born in 1990, but Nickelback is in my top 3 regardless of what "y'all" thinks. Edit: 560 million views tells the truth. Everybody is listening.

I can only answer your questions from my point. I really love rock and metal. Plus i'm playing bass and guitar. So I think I've got a pretty good knowledge of this type of music. My main problem with Nikelback is that all the songs sound pretty much the same. The lyrics are good and obviously Chad has a great voice. But the guitars are just the same in all the songs and the bass and drums too.
