I was lucky enough to run into these guys last summer and they were so friendly, funny, it was like running into guys from high school. Very kind, very down to earth, just amazing guys!
Everyone gives them shit for being a mainstream band, but this makes you realize they suffered like all other bands. Chad comes off like a real warm and likeable guy.

Why do people always have to put down those who succeed, to each his own. The world would be a awfully boring place if everyone thought and liked the same things. You have to respect where they came from and what they've accomplished regardless if you like their music.

apparently you listen to their interviews, you made the effort to look this interview up on you tube and took the time to watch it. I don't bother using my time to listen to bands I don't care for.
@JohnnyWhiteguy11 Nickelback is my favourite band and there are many reasons for that. And one of them isn't that I have no taste in music. They have gorgeous lyrics (check out song called "If today was your last day"), great videos, lead singer with the best voice ever,... I wonder what type of music do you listen to, please reply.
I love this band and it is unfortunate that they have multi platnium success because if they were an obscure band the story would be different. They did start out as an obscure band and worked for all their success, why do people hate on that? Music is subjective but for a band to go from playing small empty venues to selling out stadiums is an amazing accomplishment. Hate if you want you can't please everyone, and there are many others that will enjoy their live shows and albums.
nickelback rules their succes is amazing and anyone who hates em can suck it (i do like their older stuff... rockstar... someday... hero... with santana into the night... and so on...

Black horse was their last good album. I admit they did have a few shitty songs a couple times but they still have a kickass legacy and a unique vocalist.
I'm not criticizing Nickelback, or any band for that matter, so I don't need to prove anything to others to validate my opinion & it is so very true that those who do run around criticizing others are the ones who are jealous of their success. I like this band, their music and lyrics, and I as for the bands I don't care for, I just don't listen to their music... I don't find it necessary to try to convince the rest of the world that they are bad.. gee, what a thought!!
they say "ugh" because it is the sound one makes while their stomach turns. You cant just spit out the word Nickelback and expect people with ears to hold down their food successfully.
I think the world and the critics hate nickelback because their labeled (or were) as a post Grunge band. People immediately compared them to Nirvana and the front man to Kurt. That's were it all went to hell imo.
@twistedclaimband actually thier new sound ain't half bad i listened to a lot of thier old stuff and they do the same thing some songs about drugs and sex and some songs with actual meanings (Never Again, Side of A Bullet, If Everyone Cared, Gotta Be Somebody just to name a few) and i love Nickelback i think thier just an awsome band but u have to remember bands are always changing and evolving with time but they stay the same in terms of sound

these guys write great songs, i dont like sigle every song they have but they rock. if you think they suck go listen to miley or godsmack. we all have our preferences.
They are regular guys who have worked hard for their success man! Don't watch it if you don't like it. Go and watch clips of the Boybands that u have posted on ur walls or something.

i don't feel my taste in music is superior. this is fact. I listen to talented bands, who write intelligent, involved, meaningful lyrics, who make new and sometimes groundbreaking musical ideas. they use theory, interesting chords, melodies and counter-melodies, vocal harmonies, and most of all, care about their fans and put on a kick-ass live show.. so please, enlighten me as to how nickelback is superior to, say, between the buried and me? right. you can't.
just curious, if you don't like them...why are you watching a video about them? why do people do that? i'm seriously curious because i think it's kinda stupid.
