A local DJ in my hometown recently retired. She was the DJ for a rock station for over 40 years. At her retirement party, a bunch of bands and singers sent videos of well wishes. But Nickelback sent a video wishing her well in retirement, but also said, "Sorry for making you play our crappy music." (this was the height of the hate meme) Just goes to show they love the publicity, and will gravitate to whatever it may be

Those are some cool guys. Never really took the time to watch a Nickelback interview of any kind till now. Some pretty down to earth dudes for how much success they have.

Its not so much 'hate' against nickelback, its just general disinterest. Their music is just safe and standard. You can hear it and not know who it is and its fine. Hating them is a meme, no one actually hates them. They just have no interest or enjoy the meme.

actually they shouldn't be able to take it down anytime they want because it's transformative enough to be fair use, but with how broken copyright systems are the fact that they haven't TRIED is probably the point.

Nickelback isn’t a go-to in my playlist but I probably wouldn’t change most of the songs if they come on. Some fucking great B-sides and wholesome Canadian boys 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why do people "hate" Nickelback? Any music that's played on the radio, people hear it too much and it becomes obnoxious. If you've ever listened to the radio for an hour straight, you'd know they replay the same 5-10 songs over and over and over with a new one tossed in sometimes that eventually joins the replay loop and the cycle begins anew.

I always equated hating on Nickelback to hating on the Honda Civic. Everybody does it from time to time and there's some funny jokes about it, but how can anyone who likes cars actually hate a Honda Civic? Same thing with music.
