The Clarissa Explains it All DVD set has a montage of 9 TV spots with the Balloon font Nick logo in the bonus features, if that helps.

My favorite is the “Top of the Hour” version with all the different things going on and how they insert the Nickelodeon logo into them. (Calendars, fish eating each other, Mona Lisa’s eyes going crazy, a roller coaster)

Mona Lisa’s eyes going crazy terrified me and still does. Painting that have their faces move scare me like Painty The Pirate (the painting in the beginning of the Spongebob theme song). He still scares me. 😟 Update: Mona Lisa’s eyes going crazy doesn’t terrify me anymore but Painty still does

Hirosei the Cosmic Guy That's the origin of the name. Here's the real origin: On December 1, 1977, a new experimental cable service was launched in Columbus, Ohio, known as QUBE. QUBE There were 30 channels. On channel had this channel number: C-3 C-3 was a channel that ran Pinwheel daily from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. C-3 would also be known as The Pinwheel Network, hence its habit of airing Pinwheel. On April 1, 1979, the C-3 channel officially launched as the name "Nickelodeon", which was named after what you just said. So that's a little origin for you just in case ;)

Oh, wow, these really did things to me. I've been on a hardcore nostalgia spiral for the last week, watching 80s and 90s stuff from my childhood, but somehow this is one of the only things that almost made me cry. I think it's because these are such pure memory time capsules. Other things like theme songs you might hear occasionally over the years, but these are just frozen in time until your brain encounters them 30 years later and you realize they've been stored in there the entire time. How did you even DO all this shit? Are you some kind of wizard? You're just using clips from people's old VHS and stuff, you don't have access to the studio archives?

This is, without a doubt, the most feel good bunch of clips I have run across in a long time. I had fond memories of watching Nick back in the heydays of the 80's when I would visit my sister in PA (She had cable, we didn't) and watch shows like Bananaman, Dangermouse, and the like. These bumpers are like a walk down memory lane for me. Thank you for the work you have done in putting them together!

The video is from the 90's . But the audio sounds more like if Nickelodeon was made back in the late 50's / 60's. Imagine if someone were to take these audio clips and give them animation style's of the 50's / 60's. How neat would that be? Well see you next five years!

It’s kind of sad that Nickelodeon back in the late 80s and 90s knew how to appeal to its young demographic in an imaginative way, yet today’s doesn’t even have a single iota of what children likes. Makes me wish I was born around a time this era would be relevant to most of my childhood.
