I remember seeing this yesterday during an iCarly rerun on Teenick. It's amazing that they did this, it shows kids that they are not alone.

if i was younger and this popped up instead of a show, i would be scared Cuz idk about you guys, but ive always had a fear when a message of any kind is on screen

It’s amazing that Nickelodeon, a kids’ network no less, did this in this day and age. But I can’t help feel for the kids who might have been confused and angry at their favorite channel going down. I hope most of them understood what happened. They’re older then the ones that watch Nick Jr, so they probably understand more. If not, I hope they weren’t too upset with it and got clarification from their parents. As someone from Minnesota, it’s amazing to see and hear about all the support we’re getting.

Nickelodeon is wholesome for doing this

I personally congratulate all those who have stood up and made a difference. Black lives are on the same level of importance as the lives of any other race, especially white people. In the words of Sly Stone "I am everyday people". However, I feel very repugnant towards those who turned the peaceful protests into violent and extreme riots where they just started looting random businesses and shops instead of just going after the police officers like they should’ve. In my opinion, the real issue here is the institutional racism and the fact that police officers often feel that they can just take their frustrations out on black people. We need to stop this so we can have less Derek Chauvins in the near future. Despite that, Although the protest may be for a good cause, it is still breaking the law, putting our health and our health services in danger, putting our friends and families in danger, and putting themselves in danger. I just wish we had acknowledged BLM before the coronavirus became more serious What’s so scary about this is that History appears to be repeating itself. 29 years ago, in March 1991, a man named Rodney King was inexplicably, brutally beaten by some policemen. After the officers that beat him were arrested, they were acquitted of all charges, which led to riots happening.. Sometimes people have to learn from their mistake twice in order to correct it #Blacklivesmatter.

Its good that they went off air and spread that important message to kids.

Yep they sure did, I saw it, I was watching iCarly on Teen Nick when that happened, I was like ''What the frick, my show'' but that quickly faded to an ''Aww that's sweet.''

Imagine your mom said "You can only watch TV for 8 minutes and 46 seconds" And it was those 8 minutes and 46 seconds that nickelodeon went off air

I like what ViacomCBS is doing with their channels. They’re basically saying, “ hey pal, your not alone.”

I've always been a nickelodeon kid, I never watched any other TV network. I still watch it to this day and this is like one of the only things that made me happy this year, thanks Nickelodeon...for everything.

MTV Music also did this but they did it differently.... They went off air for 8 min and 46 sec... They just put the words "I Cant Breathe"... And they did 2 hashtags... one of them being #blacklivesmatter and the other one the same hashtag but in Russian... RIP George Floyd...

I love this message because I love it when Nickelodeon gives different messages about different situations like this pamdamic for example. Because what happened a few days or weeks ago. Nickelodeon is showing to kids that they care about what happened recently and giving a great message about it.

It’s sad that at this point we have to teach these young kids what’s going on in society now.

That happened with comedy Central too, after a episode of South Park it went off air to show a text "I can't breathe" With a person breathing. It show "text "DEMANDS" to 55156" I tried it of course and it works it took me to a website telling to speak word basically. Anyway It was on for a couple of minutes until tuning in to a office episode, for some reason it unsettling when I was hearing from the tv though

Considering the Minneapolis protests that are happening right now, it's pretty noble of Nickelodeon's part to give out this message during these dark times.
