First off - I just want to say - I GENUINELY think that her Vogue cover is one of the most gorgeous Vogue covers I have ever seen. She looks absolutely stunning, beautiful dress, minimal makeup, & that FACE CARD! Just wow. What a moment for her… and the 73 questions was cute, it was very true to Nicki & her personality - did not seem rehearsed or forced. I loved it.

Ok, so I have been a Nicki fan since she came out in Bedrock...always admired her art. Becoming a mother 20 years ago definitely changed how I presented myself ... I was in college living the HBCU dream but once I gave birth I tapped into my military side & became drill sergeant momma. That lasted for a long time until I realized my disciplined way was pushing her away. Motherhood has taught me how to be softer & strong at the same time, pray & how to keeping pushing 🙌🏾

Your creativity definitely takes a hit after having a baby. Honestly most things are off the table. You’re kind of lost in the mist of figuring who and what you are whilst also figuring out and getting to know a new little human. The stress of it is quite unique - you almost feel like a newborn yourself except you have memories of who you were before motherhood. It takes a while before you can get back into creativity, it’s like a muscle you have to retrain under a new identity. And you really don’t know what parts of you will stay, leave, or ever come back. That’s at least some of what it is. Creative mum here 👋🏾

I’m really happy Nicki did this even though I felt like she was nervous - maybe because she felt like she hadn’t done this sort of marketing in a while or because she was scared about how it would be perceived by the public in lieu of her recent decisions - but I think it actually made her more accessible in terms of relatability. We haven’t heard from Nicki in so long and her being so open and honest about what she’s been going through was really touching! I can’t wait for her next album and wish her the best in this new chapter of her life and career 🩷

I am extremely proud of Nicki. My first time seeing her I had just got home from school and she was on 106 & Park performing 5 star chick with Gotti. To answer your question about having a child and if it changes your creativity. Yessss it absolutely does. As a dancer before children I was able to move my body very effortlessly and I was a lot more flexible. After children I had to get used to my new mom bod and learn how to move my body in a different way. This led to me trying new types of movement to incorporate in my choreography. I ultimately became a better dancer for it because I was able to think outside the box as far as movement goes

@@Dianamichelleee If you observe the strategy behind this roll out, it feels the same as when a new artist is on the scene with the vogue roll out and interviews and the expectations to be treated every Friday until it drops. She is also going natural and being more vulnerable and softer (she does come off as strong normally and such she is channeling a softer approach ). The album is promoted long in advance and she is slowly building the anticipation for it for those who are fans and those who listen to critique. Also, we are currently in an era in music where music aren’t selling and you can check the albums that dropped this year and the sales for them. Here comes Nicki in this same era but predicting to sell and such everyone wants to know how well this will do and also we all know Mariah owns Christmas and here come Nicki dropping during Christmas.

Pregnancy changed my creativity for the better by grounding me more and altering my vantage point from wide screen to panoramic. I feel fully grown and deeply connected to my body in a whole new way. It's definitely opened up my mind for sure. But, it's super important to see your children as independent, fully autonomous beings and not in any way a vicarious vessel or extension of yourself, like an extra appendage. Because then you can be truly inspired by the journey of your little person, whom you love so much, as they grow and learn, and there's so very much to learn from your children. Despite the decisions she makes in her personal life and side-eyeing her for it, I believe Nicki has contributed much to pop culture over the years and that is something we cannot deny or take away from her. I enjoy her music and will continue to do so, but I don't think I can ever support her outside of her music....
