Try not to ignore that Nicki's grammy performance received backlash for good reason. Right after Whitney Houston's unexpected death, while people were still emotional about it, Nicki somehow found it appropriate to act out dying on stage and becoming possessed. It was horribly distasteful, nobody remembers it because it sucked, and it isn't rewatchable. It doesn't justify them blackballing her and denying her the meaningless award, but it feels like a detail that shouldn't be neglected in the story since the horrendous performance is where this all started.
Why would they wait until the last minute to tell her though? Its like if you were about to launch a product and the company supports your work up until the last minute - that’s foul on their part. And yes, her Grammy performance was a hot mess but the Grammys didn’t tell her until like a minute or so before she was gonna perform to stop. It was a lose/lose situation either way.

It was actually submitted in the melodic rap category which is a mixture of singing and rapping in which the artist's vocal flow sounds more like they are being sung than it does being spoken or rapped. So lattos song deserves to be there.
Nicki's perspective makes sense to me regarding the Grammys. Latto asked her to not mention her name or song title to prove her point but in countless interviews; however, Latto mentioned Nicki. Nicki is neither jealous nor bitter about these new female rappers. Whenever they wanted to boost their popularity, they used her as a feature.

My thoughts at the end of all this: Understand that just because you are talented and skilled doesn't mean that others will recognize said skill and talent in the manner of which they really should. This whole thing reminds me when Taylor Swift thought Nicki was talking about her & the media blew it out of proportion. They both were a bit messy. But Nicki was being vulnerable in her live stream buttttt everyone seemed to latched onto the Twitter battle instead. 🤷🏾♀️
Here's the thing, the grammys are very aware Nicki unfollowed latto. So by removing SFG, and not BE, especially when they both give pop was definitely messed up. Nicki wasn't coming for latto, she was addressing the GRAMMYS. As to why they removed her song and not BE when it's the same genre. She spoke about BE because it was the ONLY song in the catagory which was the same pop feel as SFG. So it's why she used that song as her reference. I felt like Nicki was fighting for equality which would affect future songs across the board. The back and forth and leaking the call was completely messed up and uncalled for. But latto really went overboard when she attacked Nicki's family. They were both throwing shots about music and tweets. So latto going to that level was disgusting af.
Here's the thing.... if you know you and another person dfw each other and yall had issues before why would you bring them up at all. That is very messy in my opinion. Because if me another person had words and we know longer talk I know if I bring that person up on a post on the internet I'm being messy and they have every right to say something

Nicki Minaj's point from the very beginning was very simple: keep the same (Big) energy for Latto that you have for Nicki. Don't criticize Nicki for taking private beef to Twitter RIGHT AFTER Latto did the same thing. Don't criticize Nicki for age shaming after Latto did the same thing. Don't be mad at Nicki for bringing up vicious rumors about Latto's family, when Latto did the same thing FIRST. And lastly, but most importantly, don't call Nicki a pop artist, and then call Latto a rapper for doing the exact same thing first. Simple.

This is my opinion on why Nicki is feeling the way she is. She shows how these female rappers hit her up for a feature. They speak on her in interviews. They say she’s their idol. They say all these things abt her. When Nicki wants her credit in a way that seems GENUINE, everyone is ghost. She loves Wayne and Drake cus they constantly speak up abt her mistreatment in the industry. This is a prime example. Latto speaking on her, asking for a collab but when Nicki talks abt the obvious strategic planning going on to snub her, she wants to these female rappers to speak up to show their true loyalty but they don’t. But she gets confused and pissed cus it was just “your my idol. You’re my dream collab”, and then why it’s time to uplift and not benefit, they’re silent. That’s why Nicki be mad. She says all the time how Lauryn Hill is her TRUE idol and she would never treat her like how she’s treated. But at the same time, she should know how the game goes. There’s no genuine ppl in the industry. Everyone for themselves. Just how the game goes. But i understand too cus at the same time, stop speaking on me if u not really for me. 🤷🏾♀️

A major issue is that in 2012 Pink Friday and one of it's songs were submitted to the Grammy's and Kanye was in both of those categories with 2 albums and songs and he won both so back then it was harder for Nicki to win cuz Pink Friday definitely deserved a Grammy but so did MDTF
