Actually some of the producers were aware that Nicki would do something controversial but they weren't told exactly what she would be doing. Miley was unaware that she was under the radar. It was not all spontaneous but yeah, Miley's presence of mind is great!!

@@goatsmokemedia3874 I'm sure this moment was staged, and even if it wasn't it's was just a petty comment made for entertainment, what Miley said about her before wasn't something harmful and I don't recall an "outrage" from the public after the show, and neither Miley nor Nicki hinted any bad blood between them afterwards so idk what to tell you, her Grammys performance however did cause an outrage that got her blackballed from ever being awarded with one, but I don't think the Grammys blackball would expand to other unrelated entities like mtv, but who knows 🤷🏻♂️
