Nick's is only 5 or 6 blocks from my house and they make some of the best handmade boots around period!!! Thanks for supporting our local businesses and Sure wish I could've met you when you were In spokane buckin! Hope everone is doing okay and has a blessed day✌️.
As an American, I’ve bought only USA-made clothing and shoes for the last 2 and a half years! Nick’s Boots is one that I’ve yet checked off my USA committed companies list to support.
Once again I have learned something. I did not know there was a difference in how you lace them up. That is a valuable lesson. Thanks again Buckin. You truly are awesome.
I love u Billy… you inspire people and you make people happy… and that’s a fantastic thing in our world!!! Lifting up our fellow man!!! Kindness and Love!!!
Thanks a million Buckin for showing how to lace boots over the top, loose strings drive me bonkers, thank ya sir, amazing how small things, make such big differences, appreciate your sharing knowledge in all ya do brother.
The reason blokes like us are usually happy is because we derive such enjoyment and pleasure from the simple things in life, such as a nice pair of boots and a day under the trees. Testament to your character I just spent the last half hour watching you rub Dubbin into your boots! Did pick up some knowledge, though. I'm a Blundstone man myself. Good Australian boots made from good Australian leather my good Australians in Tassie Australia. You would LOVE it down there, mate. Ever thought of heading Down Under for a look? We Aussies would LOVE to get you down here and our old growth forests are the best in the world. Yer a top bloke, Buckin. Love what you do.
You had me laughing through most of this video. You explaining to Nick the Spruce tree and all of the attributes even down to the foliage and its many uses....to putting new eyelets in with a giant at Nicks and even the ballcap with the stitched bill and that Forrest Gump look on your face....you are a funny man Buckin and I mean that in the best way from the bottom of my heart!
Took me 10 years to learn how to lace up my boots correctly and here you’re just showing everybody!!! LMFFAO!!! God Bless you!!! All these young folks need good “Uncle’s” to help them get steered straight right out of the gate !!! If we would all step up a little bit and help a young person get on the right path!!! It would be a much much better society over night!!! You don’t watch a guy making mistakes and laughing at him and calling him stupid to make yourself feel better because you’ve been wounded emotionally or been abused… you need to dig down deeper and stand up for the world!!! Put on your super hero cap and vow to not let evil win!!! Come on people…we are all just one big tribe!!!
Ordered my Nicks Boots in Feb this year and hade to return them a few times to get it right but I’m looking forward to getting the back. I live the over lacing!
Just got myself my first pair of higher end boots a couple weeks ago, got some Redwing 1907 moc toes the break-ins been going good but was still getting some heel that was causing irritation/blisters... the over under lace method really helps to lock the heel down, not to mention snugging the entire boot up around the foot, funny enough, I actually lace my hockey skates that way but didnt think about doing it on my boots but its a world of difference... I like the Redwing mocs so much I picked up the iron ranger hawthornes as well a week later. Definitely would like to try a pair of Nicks some day, im also vary interested in Viberg boots which is a high end Canadian boot maker.
CRANK'M UP! I used a pair of wood boot stretchers overnight for a few nights and wore them during the day with slightly damp socks (water). Now they are mine-o-mine and have the best fit. (Nicks Falcon). It seems so simple, but thanks for the lacing tip!
My Bride and i were on a trip down to Montana, Idaho, Washington State. We stopped in at Nick's Boots and took the time to try on a couple pairs of boots. We quite enjoyed our visit there and I'm planning to order some boots this winter.
Buckin You are a very lucky man what an incredible thing to happen going to Nick's boots and wonder if you could have bigger eyewits. And he has got them in his pocket very cool. Once again a bwilliams program thank you very much.
I juice mine up with a tooth brush and really work it in the stitching at the sole to upper. I’m due for a new set going from whites to nicks! You don’t use cheap tools for work and your feet will thank you.
I know exactly what your talking about I’ve done all the brake in you mentioned for my high leg assault boots over the years but we had to be able to polish for parade so mix of dubbin and kiwi black still have my last pair.
I used half a tub of Nick's lubing my new Nick's boots. It took several days to get that much in. I use the sun or a hair dryer depending on the weather to really work the stuff in, but your fingers will get it started. A labor of love!
Those trouser Suspenders are the real deal, Billy Ray. They would even hold my pants up when I have a couple of pounds of tools in each pocket as usual. But those are very good boots from Nick's.
Been a fan of nicks for 20 years of firefighting. Been a fan of billy Ray for the last 7 while cutting trees with inmates. I love it when the path of genius and kindness cross.
You are right about having kids out in the woods . I have my 5 year old out in the woods about everyday here in Tennessee and he already know a few trees
Thanks for the tip with the laces. I’m just making some leather goods and decided to switch how I do my laces on my RW Iron Rangers (hope that’s ok, cause I’m not a logger or anything like that), and you’re right. The laces work better. They don’t slowly become looser.
I just bought a new pair of western boots. What I use is the same stuff I use for my knives and guns. It’s called Ballistol. Seals and cures woods, metal, leather, etc. it’s amazing stuff.
Hell yeah Sno-seal is the best. Atsko is a great company. I just want to talk about some boot envy. Nick's boots are worthy of being talked about for hours. I wear Thorogood cause that is all I can afford but, I wear them all day and out on the town. Great fun Buckin.
Mr,B You can always tell a workin man, He appreciates another workin mens crafts. Please show us what your Nicks boot build spec's are. appreciate ya! I'm Colorado at 9k feet above it all & Ips beetle is killin our Lodgepoles
honestly I own 2 pair of loggers boots one Georgia boot and one whites boots great boots but I live in a brown leather square nose cowboy boots every day day in day out for 20 years. my personal favorite 😁👍❤
I agree, i have had to send boots back twice in the first year for warranty repair. Sole got a crack in it. Stiching came off the front as well. So i was glad to run across Bucking Billy Ray's Video.
Damn do I ever need to save up for my next set of boots...I am so tired of rocking dakotas..and don't tell me about that damn snow big guy I had almost 8 full hours shoveling at the local university haha
I'm torn between Nicks and JK for 2 prs 12" corks all eyelets (14 eyes). Both try ons fit nice. But I make my own tongue 12"l x 2"w with my 2 holes 1" from the bottom. No scallopping/tassles/whatever you do.
Well well well--I never thought I would find another person that talked boots about like do. I am delighted--and darn--this this is just the same way I break in mine too. YAAA I am not a total😀 freak.
Mr. Ray is amazing for introducing the masses to the beauty of veg-tan leather. It is really a living skin when it molds to your feet when wet. My best shoes have been freshly conditioned even before my first insert, it makes a world of difference conditioning and making it supple to avoid cracks. The leather is really easy to maintain afterwards if you waxed it before first use.
i told my wife i want nicks bots for X mas she was not impressed with the price but after i said how long they will last and compared that to me buying a new pair of cheaper boots every other year, its really abut the same if not cheaper. your just paying for the investment up front. cant wait to get a pair. not to mention the cheaper boots i wear hurt my feet after a few hours of use.
I have 3 pairs of whites smoke jumpers with the oldest being 30yr hand-me-downs that were my dads and the newest being about 10 to 15yrs old. All have been rebuilt atleast once and the oldest twice with several resoles... They are the same quality as the nicks and let me tell ya whether you get the whites or nicks both are bulletproof and some of the best handmade boots money can buy IMHO. Not to mention they will save your back with the tailored fit and awesome arch support. I have been to hell and back in my boots doing years of construction, landscaping, tree work, daily wear and much more. I wish ya the best friend and hope you get a pair... you will love them.
i have my very first pair of Nick's on order. i wont get them till i am an alaskan instead of a texan but i am incredibly excited. i have lived in boots for years and i have always been disappointed with them. hopefully the fight the cost of the Nick's caused was worth it.
