Nico Mannion has shown some flashes throughout his rookie season, but overall has been very raw. As a Warriors fan, I've watched his progression and let's just say, it's been interesting.
He started the season, as expected, as a benchwarmer who would only get a little time here and there. However, after the All-Star break, Kerr suddenly said that the young PG would replace Brad Wanamaker and would develop under the second unit. Well, that failed, as after only 10-ish games, he was sat back onto the bench. During that time, Mannion amassed much of these highlights, hitting the occasional 3 at a pretty good rate, but struggling overall around the rim.
As the Warriors now look to make a playoff push, Mannion is back to where he was at the beginning of the season. He's simply a victory/blowout cigar (along with Alen Smailagic) that is used at the end of games when things get out of hand. Maybe things will get better next season though?
