If the anime didn't forget about this filler episode later it would have been better. Chopper's reaction to Robin in episode 144 only makes sense in the manga where this interaction didn't happen.
Oda is a master at the curveball. Robin being the one to join instead of Vivi was a twist no on really saw coming. I mean they even gave Vivi her own eye catcher during commercials.
OH HI!! You gotta love it when Oda takes the time to revisit all the characters we've met during arc wrap ups! The last 4 eps of Alabasta are some of my favorite moments in "early" One Piece! Great reaction Katy!
Robin is my favorite One Piece female character!!! I literally cried when I rewatched this episode, when Robin told Luffy that she just wanted to die right there. Knowing her backstory, this just makes my heart scream with sadness, and joy that she's in a better crew now! The best crew! 😭
My favorite crew member, and probably overall favorite character, finally joins the crew. I think you'll really enjoy Nico Robin and her role on the crew. She brings a very different energy to the group.
I love how Sanji switches. I like how he can kick butt but also has great brains for strategy. He can be so suave but then next minute he cracks me up with his hopeless simping and fights with Zoro.
I think in the sbs Oda said that Nami draws her map in the evening when the ship is anchored, we can see why because the crew causes so much chaos in the morning 😂 plus she also needs to navigate.
Wait, you forgot about Chopper's Rumble Balls? He used them on his debut fight on Drum against Chessmarimo and on Alabasta against Mr. 4 and Ms. Merry Christmas. Alright, here's the bullet points: Basically, all *_Zoan Devil Fruit users have three forms,_* their natural form, an animal form and a hybrid form. -Chopper's natural form is his full reindeer self, where walks on all fours and becomes very fast and agile, that's his *_'Walk Point'._* -His 'animal form' granted by the Hito Hito No Mi is the human form, where he becomes this big buff guy, that's his *_'Heavy Point'._* -His hybrid form is what we see him most often in, the tiny guy, half human, half reindeer, where his power is focused on his intelligence, that's his *_'Brain Point'._* Being a doctor, Chopper experimented with his powers during his studies under Dr. Kureha, leading to discovering four new transformations on top of his regular three, thanks to the invention of the *_Rumble Ball._* These four additional forms are: *_-'Jumping Point',_* where he becomes a tall and slender humanoid, with a reindeer's fur, snout and legs for increased jump strength, useful for traversal, fighting in the air, or just making a quick escape. *_-'Guard Point',_* basically maxes out Chopper's fur, practically turning him into a giant puffball, shielding him from most attacks. *_-'Arm Point',_* Chopper's strongest form, basically a bipedal reindeer with massive upper arms, capable of crushing rocks and leaving cherry blossom shaped imprints on his targets (due to the shape of his cloven hooves). _Also his coolest form._ *_-and finally 'Horn Point',_* where he becomes this big reindeer with a human upper body and giant antlers, good for clearing the way. While the Rumble Ball is active, Chopper is also able to use the *_'Scope'_* ability, where changes into his Brain Point and holds his hooves like a small visor, allowing him to scan his opponents for weaknesses. However, the Rumble Ball only lasts *_3 minutes,_* and within that time, Chopper can freely shapeshift between all 7 of these. Once those 3 minutes are over, he's back to only his 3 normal forms, until he uses another Rumble Ball again.
when oda drew these chapters there was some kind of terrorist attack happening (was it 9/11?). he thought it would be wrong to make pell die through the bomb, so he made him live. i think there is an interview in which he states he regrets that desicion.
Scrolled too far for this i wish it was higher. Yeah since Pell isn't ever relevant in the story again, I personally just don't accept the survival as canon. I treat his self sacrifice as a death simply because that was Oda's intended narrative. I doubt Oda will ever make him relevant again, because i feel like he also just pretends Pell died in that scene.
In some fillers things just stop making sense, so its good to at least know when youre watching a filler arc, so you know not to think too much about it
Love these one piece reaction Sundays! I remember reacting the same way when Robin joined i did not see it coming. Also I cant wait until you see Robins backstory its really amazing. Thanks as always Ohkaty!
I'm so happy you're reacting to these filler They are some of my favourites and jam packed with wholesome moments. Yet no one ever reacts to them because Filler
For the opening "spoilers", people outside of Japan often forget that anime is not how you "find out" about things. Everyone read the manga already. Openings are not seen as spoilers but as "hype what you all want". And for that arc, everyone already knew about Robin. The non spoilery openings are very "new" in the Japanese industry.
Not everyone has the resources to read the manga. If you want the any show to be taken seriously then you should give the viewer the same experience as the reader. There are plenty of tv shows that copy books and they don’t spoil major facts with the season opening.
@@morganlynn6581 in japan, its literally a newspaper that people THROW away in the trash after reading it. Its very new that the Jump are well preserved, and you know why ? To sell them to foreigners collectors. Manga is an exportation product. You cant compare it in your country and where its made. I always buy my manga in japan because even with the export fees, I gain money. Last time I was in Japan, a Naruto volume (Not the jump, the volume) was 5 times the price compared to Japan...
And I'd add : how can you consider the manga story a spoiler in Japan when EVERYWHERE you go, the shops / commercials / toys, everything you see on a daily basis is already spoilery. The latest "huge spoiler" in One Piece is printed on giant sized posters on like every single shop of Akihabara, giant statues. it's everywhere.
@@Camuska so which is it? Trash people throw away or a collectors item? Is it the back page of a newspaper or is it posted on billboards? Just accept that a stranger on the internet disagrees with you an move on with your life. You don’t have to take it as a personal attack on your literal identity.
I think the reason the openings come across as "spoilery" is because it's generally assumed that the majority of the audience are already familiar with the manga. Usually, the anime adaption is paced about a year or two behind the source material, plot-wise (at the very least, anyway). That being said, Robin had already situated herself with the crew for a good while in the manga around the time the anime reached this point, so her appearance in the opening wouldn't come as a surprise to most viewers, I think. As for anime-only viewers, the only justification I can think of is that they'd lack too much context for her presence to be considered a huge spoiler..... at least, that's my take on it, lol. 😆
You didn't notice Chopper's Rumble Ball in action on Drum Island or against the Mole Lady, Big Slow Batter, and their pet Dog Bazooka? Seriously, devi fruits like the one Chopper ate are usually limited to three forms. In Chopper's case, his Walk Point is his deer form, his Heavy Point is his big humanoid form, and his tiny form is his hybrid form, AND his new default as well. He has about more than 100% more forms he can access, but only if he eats the Rumble Ball.
i've actually never seen the fillers, so i'll discover them with you! (all the dragons stuff earlier i've never seen before your videos either) those two were pretty nice
I still think "Four Sword Style" is one of the funniest burns in the series. Honestly, 131 is the only filler episode of this bunch I would watch because it really shows the dynamic between Chopper and Robin. The others don't really do anything. Honestly, Robin has the best theme with that super sleazy saxophone.
Robin is by that moment by far the most mature member of the crew, only Zoro getting near to that. The rest of the crew are more or less teenagers, even Sanji. So when Robin joined she pretty sure knew how to approach each of them - and since she knew Zoro was quite distrustful she took the slow approach, knowing she would not win him over like the others by aiming straight at their week spots.
Openings include "spoilers" because in Japan manga is king. The demographic of people watching are either kids too young to care or up to date fans so to them nothing is spoiled because they already know what happens. Other animes do this too - it's not unique to One Piece. The anime is an adaptation that caters to a Japanese audience, and the concept of "anime only" is literally foreign. So if you do want to avoid being spoiled, you should probably skip openings and even the title cards because those also tell you what happens in the episode.
14:40 yeah that was one of the 2 major spoilers I couldn't avoid. Don't worry no other spoilers are straight up in the show, the other one I couldn't avoid was because of a recap that title I read which I shouldn't have. *Also if you don't want to miss out on some of the best zoro moments* Don't forget that there are movies and specials.
im sure ur gonna get spammed this alot but oh well, here goes the community basically all think one piece bringing Pell back was one of the worst things the series has ever done. bcus it cheapens his sacrifice and vivi's pain about it and all that stuff but yea, the reason why is basically that it was published around the time of 9/11 so other ppl made Oda bring him back bcus of that
Yeh id actually strongly advise against not watching openings. Many of them contain spoilers some of them massive in future arcs. I guess The anime producers just assume most their audience read manga hard to say but watch with caution or have somebody approve beforehand lol. In my first watch I never watched a single opening for any episode Bc I couldn’t take the risk
Episode 131 and 132 were filler, but they were enjoyable and funny, they were not perfect but they were very entertaining. There will be in the future bad fillers, but this two were definitely good, the first time I watched the show I didn't even noticed thery were filler becuase they seemed very faithful to the story and to the characters, and for a filler episode, that's the best thing you should asked.
