Such a pity what happened to him. Had all the potential to be an outstanding player. My honest opinion is that he needed a bigger, more functional club than 2019 Arsenal.
I don't think he flopped at all,he simply wasn't played or had enough game time, nobody saw Saka's rise to the top, Good luck to him, as an Arsenal fan I'm just disappointed that it didn't work out.
Actually we DID see Saka's rise to the top. Right from when he wore the 87 shirt, to the 77 shirt, to playing left back, then right wing, then settling left wing.
Most of these goals even came as a a substitute Don't think it was wise to let him go Though he was overpriced when bought but he Is still a good back up to Saka From the stats he even seems equal or even better than Pedro neto and some of the other options
Yeah because you fall into the trap of club propaganda and supers fan agenda without doing your own research or using your own mind to know which player is good or bad. Club kept on making you think like that Xhaka is good enough for Arsenal and they made him stay for 7 years when we should have sold him after one year, they made you feel like holding is a good enough back up CB and you believed that nonsense and they keeping him for 8 years now, wow They propagandaized you to believe that Pepe ain't good enough and has poor record you blindly believe that as well and then they mistreated him and got rid.of him even though he.was fine player and now you are so.surprised. that he's scored that many. The guy has one of the best goal per minute ratio for.arsenal in last 5 years. 48.Goals + assist in 112 games ( many of them.he didn't even start), and he's not good enough? Really? You get what I am saying
@@goals27 you are missing that he stat padded by scoring a lot againest small europa league teams. Dont rewrite history just because you have seen a scoring montage, his overall play wasnt working. He always slowed down play, terrible dribbling, kept messing up simple passes. He wasnt terrible but I think its best for everyone if he moved on from him.
@@darkmist977 ok genius. If that's so easy why not every other player do that? Again don't justify what's wrong, you deep down know as well Pepe was mistreated badly and he wasn't a flop or a bad player, far From that. And you are telling me Havertz (have you seen him play) is much better than Pepe? Does Havertz bring anything onto the table? We all know Pepe was better. And also you act like Pepe didn't score in PL . More than Half of those goal/assist contribution came in the league and he didn't start every match or play full 90 minutes. 25-26 G/A contribution in 71 League games ( if you accumulate the minutes and divide them per 90 , those number of games he played actually)are bad stats? U must be kidding. His goal per minute ratio is better than most and he didn't use to miss sitters like Giroud who people like you glorify so much. So you need to be fair rather than believing what's mainstream just because it's mainstream before you accuse.me.of rewriting history. I am Just stating facts here. You either need to have same ruthlessness for everyone ( Xhaka, Holding, Giroud and now Havertz) or learn to call spade a spade that Pepe was mistreated. You can't have certain rules for some players (Giroud, Xhaka, Havertz)and one for players like Pepe..
I do not hold Pepe entirely accountable for his performance. Arteta, it seems, did not afford him adequate opportunities to demonstrate his capabilities. Despite making occasional mistakes, Pepe was swiftly sidelined, while certain other players received numerous chances to redeem themselves. The English press exacerbated the situation by highlighting Arsenal's apparent neglect of Pepe, generating further negative coverage. Unfortunately, the Arsenal fanbase also passed hasty judgments, expressing a range of criticisms against Pepe. It's essential to recognize the influence of media narratives in shaping public perception. Pepe remains a talented player, and had he received a similar level of support and patience as Xhaka, he could have undoubtedly improved. I say this as a dedicated Arsenal fan since 1996, and I understand the significance of genuine support, which Pepe unfortunately did not experience.
Weird? How? He's a class player , one could easily see that whenever he touched the ball , Arteta Just mistreated him .. if he hadn't scored such class goals that's what would have been weird actually because he's so good
Same with Maguire. Not saying he's best centre back in the prem, him costing £80m hasn't helped him. If he had cost less, he wouldn't get as much shit as he does
The amount of hate i got from my friendgroup as i said pepe would be a good signing for us. Finally after a few years (they are man utd fans) i sent this video into our group chat and said he's at least better than antony (they also said antony would be a gamechanger for their team.) At least ive got a decent highlight video to show that pepe actually wasnt as bad as people made him out to be.
On his day very good. Quick, composed in front of goal, good cross and a good left foot. But he is very inconsistent and has a very weak right foot. Also susceptible to defensive errors
Raul Sanellhi was to blame for buying him - Unai Emery wanted Wilfried Zaha instead. Arsenal ended up paying over £2.5 million for every one of those 27 goals
Some might say he didn't score enough but when he did it was QUALITY, still think we should've kept this one here and if it didnt work out sort something in January for him. Or MAYBE it's the snoring Zaha said about him why he got ridd 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@kman33fulthat goal/assist Record alone puts /should put him in the squad. Do you really think havertz and Eddie are better than him? Lol He's no a bad player and a.goalscorr as well
This is the major reason as to why arsenal has lost the trophy to man city just two times cause these are players who dictate games .. Arteta if u a to be a good coach avoid hatred leaders don't hate if it wasn't for arsenal which has given you time as for Madrid and Barcelona you would lose the job thank u....Pepe iam an arsenal fun who loved you and still regretting as to why??
Highlights can be so misleading 😂 ... We can't deny the talent, but OVERALL he didn't cut it. 27 goal tally is bad, top strikers score that in one season. But still thank you pepe for your time at Arsenal
I would challenge anyone to argue against the assertion that at £72 million, Pepe is the worst transfer in the history of the game. Who else? Dembele and Coutinho at Barca don't come close, nor does Carroll. I seriously put it to all that this was the worst bit of business EVER
@@theone4808 I mean only last week Sancho scored against Liverpool in a win, is a current England international and has done it for Dortmund including in the CL. Maguire is a very bad signing but still a major part of WC semi final and EC final run, and had also done it in the Premier League to a very high level consistently at Leicester. Pepe was good in Ligue 1 and then fell off a cliff at Arsenal and now plays beach soccer at the Walking Dead FC aka Nice
Arteta should get good backups, starting 11 predictable, and dey eventually ran out of gas. And it cost us the league. Mancity was not at their best in Epl this campaign. If we had gud backups like dey do, the rest is history.
Highlights make him look like a prolific striker and electric winger. His ingame contribution was absolutely zero, his touches were awful, his habit of hugging the touchline, his too left footedness and his single trick to score made his easy to predict and nullified him completely. He's average.
Flopped, didn’t have the consistency in training or in games. What do you expect, he’s not better than Saka, Martinelli or even Trossard. That’s why he shouldn’t feature, not good enough
