It's not normal to have chest pains in pregnancy. I am a midwife. I would send my patient in for a check-up if she reported persistent or severe chest pains. Bear in mind that chest pains are different from epigastric pains which are due to gas/indigestion but the two are often confused. Very sad to hear of the loss of such a young woman AND her baby!

She absolutely had symptoms of heart problems after watching her RU-vid videos few days ago. She had breathing problems early trimester...Sadly, her doctor failed her big time! In UK, black women are 5 times more likely to die pre/postpartum and 4 times more like to die here in the US. Listen to your body and if something is wrong go see next next next doctor until you find an answer.
Speak about it!!! I was getting ready to write a post. The first thing I said to my younger sister when she told me was “I hope it couldn’t have been prevented because black woman have a high mortality rate when pregnant and during birth”. The look on her face and my mum silently and delicately smiled to further echo what I was saying is the complete truth. The minute the pandemic broke I thought what about the figures on the mortality rate for black women dyeing during delivery? The figures are shocking an receive no attention. Sisters take extra precaution with life, work and family when expectant. We owe it to God The Father that we are still here and ourselves and our mothers made it.

As a pregnant woman myself, this hit me so hard! All those dreams her partner had of being a dad and raising his son alongside the woman he loves are shattered! I pray for her partner, her family, and friends who have lost these 2 lovely souls😢
I do work in labor and delivery I only can say is following with your O.B doctor and I am not say to be every week at the doctor office's for any little think however use your commonsense to go if you feel is necesary is better to be safe than sorry. I seen capo cases in my unit that could be prevented if may you feel something is not not normal. Stay safe and God Bless you. Females walk thru the valley of the shadow of death bringing LIFE into this world. Own that power. Now take responsibility for it. Use it. If YOU think there's something wrong, you go to the ER. don't you wait until there's nothing can be done. Don't call your buddies and ask for advice...YOU take charge, little ones life and your life, hangs in the balance!!! If Nicole had been seen and LISTENED to before she had the cardiac event, there's so much Drs could have done to save her and Baby Reign. Now, their family has to mourn them. Forever. You TAKE CHARGE. and you stand your ground. If you know something is wrong, speak up. If they won't listen, ask for another Dr. Or their supervisor. Or Patient services. Whatever you must do, you do. But don't be moved. Hugs n kisses n love, to ALL the young Mothers here. I'm praying for all healthy babies, and Mommys, and a sweet, easy childbirth. This is an important message. It’s especially important, for any woman, to not get discouraged if doctors don’t take it seriously, and to see another one, until they do their job. It’s especially important for black women to be careful when we know how black pregnant women are treated by the medical field. This is so scary.

You didn’t have to know who she was to feel nothing but sorrow and heart break for her and the baby. My prayers are with her boyfriend, it’s so hard finding your person in this world, I know he is crushed.
As a doctor, I would assume she had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in her lung circulation) which lead to a heart attack. This often presents as sudden chest pain radiating to your back and shortness of breath. Pregnant women are at particularly high risk but often this happens suddenly without preceding symptoms and I don’t think blaming her caregivers in this situation is fair or helpful unless you know the full story! RIP to Nicole and baby Reign 🙏🏾
Every woman who gets pregnant is risking her life. Most of us don't know this but it's 100% true . Pregnancy is so unpredictable and even after you deliver the baby the risk is still there for about 6 weeks. Keep this in mind that our mother risked her life for us. Rest in peace dear.

Why would a midwife say " feeling out of breath and chest pain normal in pregnancy? Chest pain is never normal. If you suspect it may be GERD then let a Doctor confirm this....Never assume.
Yeah I’m literally due in 17 days and my mom always told me if I ever feel the slightest bit of chest pain to go to the er immediately. Out of breath is super common but chest pains, deff not.
I have went through ths pain as well, I have faced 5 losses this year, my sister due to a plane crash on PIA 8303, My mom due to the covid 19 virus (she was very young, only on her 53rd birthday) my best + most trustworthy friend due to an incident in a bike, my cousin, who is only 18, died from a rare disease called Pitt Hopkins Syndrome and my uncle died from a surgery. My brother is facing a huge amount of depression from losing his only job due to COVID as well as his blood pressure rate going high because of his heart beat rising up alot and he often thinks about suicide, which haunts me soooo much, I love him and his personality, he used to be soooo loving to our family, I really can't believe all this. From January to July it has been rough, and there are more things about to stick out, so we all have to be prepared for it! We should be thankful no matter what happens, because in this world everything happens for a reason and god's will, and I truly believe in that. My family isn't doing well, and neither are 80 Million others, but if we all stick together, we can get through this! my condolences and support to y'all who is suffering out there! 2020 is definetely the worst year by far in history! @Aman Yadav actually exercising while pregnant is good for the child (as long as it isn't super exerting). my mom literally used to go to the pool and swim laps while she was pregnant with me up until like the month before. not to mention, I never knew photo shoots weren't allowed? if you have the means to document every step of your Childs journey, then theres nothing wrong with that. instead of criticizing her living her life to the fullest up until her passing, maybe just shut your mouth and respect the family during this time of mourning.

Pregnancy is a beautiful blessing but it is also very dangerous...I almost died from an ectopic pregnancy and one of my daughters had to have a cesarean section she was so terrified and I was to..I thank God she survived and her son is six years old
I had mine while going through the toughest time of my life: just lost my six figure paying job and family plus friends. Homeless and sleeping in my sports car. Had to go to the ER for regular check-up appts to make sure me and the baby was ok since I also was illegally fired due to my health of seizures so epilepsy was another problem for me... thanks to the Universe and Buddha for a very healthy baby girl August. We are still doing very well. I lost everything but was gifted with a baby and mind you, me and my husband couldn't get pregnant for a very long time... So interesting how everything happened. I'm so proud and grateful for the family I have today. If it's meant to happen, it will.

From a nurse point of view... shortness of breath when she walks chest and back pain and pregnant. Sounds like PE for me... which can lead to cardic arrest. For young fit healthy person... the only thing I can think off. May her and her son RIP 🙏 life just not fair.

The Baddest no it wasn’t a heart attack and they haven’t confirmed a heart attack. Heart attacks are easy to diagnose especially if they are massive all it takes is a blood test and ecg. So I doubt this young fit girl had a heart attack more likely a pulmonary embolism similar to what Serena Williams nearly died from during her pregnancy.

I thought of preclamsia when read the news the first time. I heard a lot about that condition cause Kim K had it on her pregnancies and that's why she decided to do surrogate for her 2 last pregnancies. Wow. This world is so complex and overwhelming.
I believe it may actually be a heart attack.. one of the main symptoms of a heart attack is a chest pain and back pain. And that is what she said before she died. This is honestly sad and I cannot imagine how much pain her family is in at the moment. Nicole was such a loving and positive person from what I’ve seen in her videos. She’s so beautiful too. I never watched her on youtube , but from her pictures I can tell she radiates positive energy. And that’s what everyone needs in life. Rest in peace Nicole Thea ❤️.
I felt the need to write this comment, feel free to read. A month ago my grandmother passed away, I’m a teenager and it was also the initial passing of someone that I loved from my family. I honestly cannot put into words what she meant to me, unfortunately it came to that day for me to realize that. Please, please be grateful for every little bit that you have, because nothing is certain, ever, people come and go and that’s inevitable. Life goes on no matter what, you’re never alone. I have always told people around me there can be complications during pregnancy, and women can succumb to them and pass away. As someone said below, pregnancy is one of the closest a woman can be to death, one foot in this world, one world in the next. Be careful ladies, take care of yourself, if something is really bothering you, go get it checked out, and be persistent in it. Not related to pregnancy, but I had real bad stomach problems, and my doctors told me it was nothin. Until years later, I will say I was on government insurance at 1st, but during college, my family paid for my health insurance, and I guess the doctors were better, and they found out I had gastritis, duodenitis, and esophagitis. Nothing was a WHOLE LOT of SOMETHING. I also wanted testing for memory loss (severe car accidents, hit and run, and a roll over), they said nothing was wrong. It's clear as day that I have short-term memory loss. It's is a known fact that people of color, especially black folks, don't get proper health care treatment and resources.
It’s possible in her case because she was high risk and the doctors did tell her if she keeps her baby and continues pregnancy she may die, they told her her body can’t handle a pregnancy but she wanted to continue it anyway.
May she rest in peace. 6 years ago I almost died from a massive heart attack also. Was in ICU for 2 weeks and in a coma for 8 days and in the hospital for a month. It was by only the Grace of God I'm still here today .
She and her baby were a joy to watch! My heart goes out to her love, the babies father, their family, friends and fans. The two of them touched thousands of lives in their short time here. We will continue to grow from their teachings. God bless them! Thank you 🙏❤️
I just found out about her story and it's heartbreaking. What a lovely person. Her and her husband (marriage by love) were to be wonderful parents to their son and he clearly, not only loved, he celebrated. Nicole made an impact and she lives on in memory. May her husband live for love, there are no right words, I just wish him support.

She said she was in Yorkshire I think she moved from London to Yorkshire. Yorkshire you get attended soooo quickly and not like London . So I just don’t know what type of midwife she had . Too sad
When I was in labor with my first child I had to get induced and when the contractions started I had an epidural. But the epidural only took on one side of my body so I felt pain from them breaking my water and inserting a catheter! Man I was in so much pain and hours went by since they broke my water I started to feel really ill/sick! Like I felt feverish and nauseous! I told my doctor and she said it was normal! I was crying to my husband and sister in law telling them I need a csection. I never went pass 4 centimeters. I think maybe an hour later they said they need to get me into for an emergency csection . Mind you I still felt most of the pressure during my csecction. Mostly tugging and pulling and pressure. She weighed 9lbs, 3 ozs, had her on Valentine’s Day! Anyways afterwards my daughter had to to nicu and That night I got a fever and was vomiting so much that after awhile nothing came up! Each and every night I would throw up and couldn’t see my daughter due to my fever. I finally got a cat scan and my placenta was infected. So I was in the hospital for about 2 weeks recovering. I know God was on my side! Because I felt terrible. Looking back I should’ve sued! It’s been 12 years and my daughter is a healthy athlete and I also have 9 year olds son! His labor was a breeze!! I’m greatful to be here!! It’s important for us to speak up and have your families demand something happens if you aren’t feeling good! You know your body!! My heart goes out to her family and boyfriend!!❤️

May have been a pulmonary embolism. My 23yr old first cousin passed away at 4months pregnant on March 9, 1997; unborn baby as well. They thought she was having an asthma attack but it was a blood clot in her leg that traveled to her heart and burst. Pulmonary embolism. Same thing rapper Heavy D. passed away from. Sending my heartfelt condolences to the family.

I never actually watched or new of Nicole until recently and just happened to stumble upon her story. What a beautiful couple. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain Boga is still feeling. He was so ready to be a dad. Their little family was blossoming and it's heartbreaking that it was so suddenly struck down. I hope Boga and the rest if her family continue to feel the love from Nicole and Reign around them every day.
