The irony is that most of these joke endings lead to a better fate for the characters than most of the main endings. By exercising free will and running away from the fight, the androids are, in fact, breaking out of the cycle they are trapped in!
You have to do horrible things to get to "joke" endings, wiping pascal's village or killing pascal, leaving popola and devola to die, letting emil wipe life on earth, etc.
Considering most of these endings are talking about how androids are on the verge of extinction or are extinct its not exactly a good thing. That's just how i feel though.
*2B and 9S abandoned their mission to go... fishing. Yeah that's it! Fishing! With a smile on their faces, they packed up and headed for the coast.* *Credits roll*
well the whole plan was to fail anyway for YoRHa ... so but the other android organizations still oparated and on the moon is a DNA bank of humans from what Drakengard 3 is pointing is actually that the androids of future went to past so they can research human life more directly and to create a new life for the human masters they are about to re-create since the androids are devoted to their creators like humans are to god and so on ....
plot of next game: The main character is tasked with Yorha to track down a rouge android. This android is highly dangerous and skilled in fishing. She abandoned her mission 10 years ago to catch a big fish, and has being the most dangerous android since.
With help of 9s they developed an army filled with fish that have AI and their mission is to take over the entire water area on earth (bc androids cant swim) And Yorha developed a swimmer/diver model to hunt these fish. The entire game takes place under the water
I know you're joking, but that's like much too direct for Yoko Taro. For him, each game has to be as loosely connected as possible, so rogue 2b would like wipe out most fish life to the point where fish fight back against the androids for revenge. And THEN, after millions of years, the new fish would eventually evolve into people and you'd play as a fish person whose trying to fight against their oppressive fishman government while learning the truth of what life on land used to be.
Ending L is by far my favorite, just fuck everything time to go fishing! Add to the fact that it would seem everyone survived, minus those who went after 2B, just makes it better.

well, it wasn't easy tbh. Getting extra height isn't easy in Automata in general. Of course you have double jump, but without a high platform that won't do much. And keeping your height for a certain distance is cancerously hard
How the hell does that even happen? 2B comes back just fine after getting shot, stabbed, blown up, beaten to death, sawed, burned, crushed, and plunging to her death, but a fish somehow removes her ability to respawn? Why can't you just cram that thing down Eve's throat at the end?

557deadpool uh...they do "NEED" them.... "good" is irrelevant. Theres no replay value in playing the same story and making the same choices because you have to. The witcher 3 has replay value because you can make choices an they effect the story progress. It encourages you to play it again differently. Linear games that force you to follow a route an story dont have replay value. There is no value in doing the same things over an over

ending L might sounds stupid but it's pretty heart warming after knowing everything. 2b doesn't have to do her job as executioner and she can live with 9s happily ever after. A true good end
Love these endings Love how A2 screws up by just taking strolls, so carefree Love how 2b abandoning missions leads to amusing choices, fishing Love how 9s is just saying screw it or being brave Some of these ends work out pretty well
It's funny how the joke endings with YoRHa being destroyed is only because 9s and 2b didn't do their job or simply got killed. I guess if it weren't for them everyone would be screwed.
everyone was screwed anyway..the truely fucked up thing is them dieing actuly stops everything being screwed up. Broken [W}ings could be considered the best possible ending threw a certen point of veiw.
I love how Lone Wolf implies that YoRHa beats Eve anyways and then assigns a team to take out 2B and 9S. This means that the Logic Virus never took out YoRHa and that the Bunker was never destroyed because 10 Years have passed.

ok I know this comment is from 3 years ago and don't laugh at me but I got this ending like 8 times in my first playthrough I felt so dumb when I realized that the ladder was pretty much in front of me
@@jaycobhughes3932 imagine wandering just a tiny bit away from the mission area to look for ways around, only for your character to develop the insatiable urge to just study robots and run away
There's like 4 paths to cause this at the beginning. At least you didn't fall into the Aliien Well on your way to save Pascals village as A2 and got I think it was ending M

I'm bummed there's no ending where 9S just runs off with 2B and screws her circuits out and they go AWOL leaving the machine-android conflict to resolve itself. How many people would start referring to that as the "good" ending?
Fishing ending is the best ending. Both 2B and 9S are safe, and can live a happy life together (besides the fact that they'll have Androids sent out to kill them, but everyone loves some excitement)

well, the fastest approach for an all endings speed run would probably be taking the fastest route to ending A to E, taking as little joke endings with you as possible (since getting that lost progress back takes a while) and get everything else afterwards.
I love how dry the humor in these endings is. I want to know if these endings were all Yoko's idea or if other members of the dev team thought this up. All of them are my heroes, except the selfish ones.
Honestly, I believe they were Yoko Taro's idea. He did the same thing in the first Drakengard, and that ending leads to the events of both Nier games. And it was meant to be a joke ending at first!

Mike Jones nah ya probably didn't play the first NieR to get a gist of Y ending. its by far the saddest ending for me I guess. from Seere>Mikhail>Emil it is an eternal suffer for that poor soul. definitely a [Y]oko Taro ending
Kinda sucks when I did the secret ending that deletes my save file...should of utilize my debug room, chapter selection to get these endings, o well, just another 40 hr journey to greatness *and tears*
But the entire game it was hinting at you that it's a bad idea to just keep everything on one location, and that you should regularly be backing up to multiple disassociated external sources so that in case a virus forces a nuclear option you can restore that.
These are great. I only found one or two on my first playthrough, now I've learned they're all over the place. L made me laugh harder than it should have.
Ending L is by far the best ending for me, it's even better than ending E for 2-reason 1. Yorha bunker never attacked and most of their crew still alive (except those sent to capture 2B) 2. 2B become more badass in this ending
I finished the game today, I did the main ending A, I didn't even know I had a way to get to these very different endings, and I also didn't know that you could use the A2 and 9S as playable characters. I'll explore a little more of the game.
Ending H is about as close as we get to 2B and NS having a life to themselves for however long it lasts, and the cycle of YorHA coming to an end. Though I find it hilarious that it's the only one that implies they stick together... what else comes to mind when you think of the letter "H"?
Now that Bayonetta 3 has a multiverse, and also made by Platinum games, this means Nier could be a multiverse and every one of these endings are canon. Yes that's right. You heard it right here.
Good to see the Japanese continuing the joke ending tradition. I used to love the silly endings in the old Silent Hill games as well. The dog ending of the second game, and the series of alien endings across the first three.
