@@TollyKipper Well whilst paroozing youtube and seeing an email from said app claiming god replied to my comment... It tends to make someone curious about said notification lol
nier automata is better watched than played so the narrative can be enjoyed, some bosses mixed with no checkpoints make me so mad that I do not even focus on the cutscene after beating them lol
Alright since it seems nobody did time stamps for the endings I will do them. (Ending A) 0:00 (Ending B) 9:05 (Ending C) 15:04 (Ending D) 22:09 (Ending E) 31:49 (Those are for when the ending starts)
If 2B is a code name for 2E (Execution) then that would explain why 2B(E) is so cold or distant to 9S because she's been assigned multiple times to kill the 9S models in case they get close to the truth. In ending A, 2B's shell breaks after she kills 9S and says "It always... ends like this..." That means she's killed 9S multiple times that she hates creating bonds with the 9S models. You even get to meet with another YoRHa E-type during the B ending where she shares here inner feelings when being a E-type (Which means she went insane as an E-type). At the fight between 9S and A2, A2 says that 2B got tired killing 9S so many times, that just nails it all down from there. In this story, 9S doesn't mean No.9 Scanner, it means Suffering.
I know it's been 2 years and you'll likely never see it..... but.... THAT'S THE DUMBEST SHIT I'VE SEEN! I DON'T UNDERSTAND! WHO THE FUCK WOULD WANT 2B TO WEAR A FUCKIN T SHIRT? MAKES NO DAMN SENSE TO ME...
@Alex english felt so wrong in this game i instantly used japanese and i love the jp voice it fits more . english is not my main lenguege and japanese is not either But the japanese was far better in my opinion
@@erikgt2559 the "It doesn't matter! None of this matters!" And "Shut up, shut up, shut UP, SHUT UP!" lines always sends shivers to my spine. I always play with Japanese audio instead of English, but those lines are just something else.
Pretty much a happy ending. All 3 of them are alive just unconscious and memories are completely salvaged. I'll give 10 thumbs up for the all possible endings and also for this channel. Now I want to buy the game!
Yeah. I actually spoil myself games to some extent to decide if i want to enjoy them or not, so like this i decided i would never play drakengard and may god fuk that shit, and i will buy Nier series. Spoilers are nothing, what i really enjoy is the ride. Wow im kind of happy to find people that do the same :')
Very sad you didn't include one of the most amazing moments in game history occuring in ending E. Hardly ever seen that a player was addressed on macro-level in such a clever way. Fighting for the memories of 9S, A2 and 2B against the people who created the game which only was possible with the help of other sacrificed savegames and people around the world... with the choir in the background, woah, that really tore me to pieces. I even got a tattoo which can only be understood by the people who played all of ending E. For me the most important underlying message was: 'together we can do what we can't do on our own.' I found that incredibly beautiful.
The only character that really breaks my heart is Pascal, he's the sweetest and the most gentle character in this whole game. *SPOILER* I can't bring myself to kill him, so I just reset his memories but I feel soo terrible when I see him at his village, alone. Just warmly welcoming like I'm just a stranger! It hurts my Heart soooo bad. This game is sooooo good!
I don't know. I think 6O is so pure and sweet. I wish she existed just so I can go all 'big brother' on her and keep her happy. I don't really have much self happiness outside of my hobbies so I'd be fine with this kind of existence. As long as she never has to cry again. Throw 21O in there as well. All she wanted was a family.
Nostalgic if you haven't done it yet try walking out on Pascal and you'll get a trophy. on like my 3rd play through I didn't like the erasing or even killing option so I just left..whatz sad is his last words that really made me regret sparing him...
Same here, after getting the E ending, I was happy that 2B, 9S, and A2 all turned out okay, but my God, erasing Pascals memories absolutely destroyed me. Hardest I've cried at a video game in a long time.
I just left the factory when he asked me to kill him. I don't like denying reality so I was opposed to hacking him to wipe his memory. He should face the truth and if he wants to die then he is free to commit suicide on his own instead of shifting responsibility onto others.
Nostalgic honestly leaving him without his memories is honestly kind of worst as 9s states that the machines never learn, destined to repeat the same mistakes, resetting Pascal will only lead to create another village and likely suffer again
I will attempt to get all Joke Endings too, these are all the main endings in the game with depth, remaining endings include a death message and that's it.
Shirrako Dude... you're a true trooper. Thanks for giving us an early walkthrough of Nier Automata. I really appreciated all the gameplay and endings and whatnot. This Like's for you, bud. 😁👍
Sadly 9S, the best boi, dies in both C and D ending, and in E ending, according to the previous script for the play (The non-ingame canon content), he also failed to activate after being salvaged because of emotional trauma or something of the likes. But i also read somewhere that Yoko Taro rewrote it after the game released so everyone survives. Still, just to think that 9S is fucked up beyond repair is a bit too much.
@@user-en4eo1cc4t This game working on PC must be the biggest joke I read around here. Anyways on topic @Matthew Flowers 9S breakdown is nothing compared to real life normal person mental breakdown from playing this game, considering that it's quite depressing in general and how it erases your save data and whatever you unlocked so far, not even once. So many people quit this game due to it and you can't even refund this garbage. I am glad I never paid for this and only watched the key points of this game. Paywall on things that should be in the game anyways. This entire game is just a curse that has been put upon the person who bought it all and played through multiple times, grinded things for nothing.
@@iceyfloor6730 you know the erasing your data is optional right?? you don’t just finish and it deletes everything lol it asks you if you want to delete it and you can just say no and keep playing
I chose A2 because longer i played with 9S when he got crazier amd crazier i understood one thing i had to end his pain he just wanted to be with 2B again and thats what i did
hahah literally. before i played the game i heard you could sacrifice your data at the end of the game and i was like what??? no way lol why would i ever do that?? then i got to that part and i was absolutely sobbing and with no hesitation i sacrificed my save data. mannn this game is the best
@@hasnayaya Same... Too much Feels that I said to myself.... "Screw this I know the truth, why repeat to see 2B killing 9S over over over over again". erased my memories known as "My Game file data"
Route C ending had me in pieces, A2’s character arc is so beautiful and tragic. Sacrificing herself like that... I just love and respect her so much ❤️
A2' ending turns out to be my favorite. From my prospective A2 is an outsider of 2B9S' "Life, Love, Death" spiral. But still, A2 sacrifice herself to save 9S, and eventually ends the spiral (Tower collapse). A2 did these for a stranger, and she take all pain with her, free herself and join her comrade.
Yeah... A2 seems a Karen in the very beginning but after she read 9S memories at the Finale, I knew she had a pure heart, Just like 2B Cuz 2B told A2, We're both the same! A2 was just cold same as 2B just her anger Hides her emotions, meaning that she truly cares about this world despite her Karen's attitude. Which no Gonna lie, her edgy attitude is kind of HOT.
I always come back for ending C, I always get goosebumps and teary when A2 realises how much she loved the earth regardless of the reason she was put on it. You hear it in her voice, the peace she finally has in having completed her task.
Same. Really feel bad for 9S though since he was the gentlest and kindest character in the whole game and Taro had to dump this giant bag of shit on his head >_>
9S was definitely my favorite character. But, take heart for the underdogs Pod 042 and Pod 153. They, more than anyone else, saw what the tragedies of of their hopeless struggles wrought and how it all but destroyed the gentle 9S who, arguably, was the most humanly fragile and inquisitive...and how his love and grief drove him to despair. If you think about it, going with the question/theme of questioning purpose and the legitimacy of "life" Pod 042's defiance of their fate is proif that nobody accepts that kind of ending. Well, if nothing else... The true ending shows that not only did they survive, but that they will retain their memories. The rest is up to them for when they wake up. The bigger question is that...what now? Humanity is gone...all that remains of sentient life are androids and machine lifeforms like Pascal (post memory reset). Well, at least the "invaders" are gone so maybe Earth, and life, can finally heal.
I feel a great wave of the feelies and depression when realizing that 9s knows he is killed over and over again. Tbh this whole game makes me depressed
"Pods 042 and 153 reconstitute the androids' memories and experiences and reconstruct their bodies-despite the possibility that the three would simply repeat everything" at this exact point of reading, I just knew that my life is fucked up. :')
Eliz C I know, but playing all those fucking time just for to know only a possibility is like... I mean,... well... you know, Yoko Taro.. okay... but I admit it, I will enjoy playing this game, and sure the possibility of those three having a new future will be the best hope of all gamers who play this.. such a beautiful story..
What exactly would they repeat? They remember everything that happened, and there's no more Command to tell them what to do. It's not really a question of if they're going to repeat anything, it's what they are going to do now that they have true freedom for the first time of their lives.
Now now, let's not bash FFXV. While I do agree the story is (quite literally) all over the place (since you need to watch multiple medias to grasp the world building), the characterization itself is superb, the motives are good, and the backstories are legit. Don't get me started on the music; Yoko Shimomura loves the salty tears.
The Legendary Soldier You think VII was sadder than this and XV?I didn't even think VII was sad my first time beating it and hell I was around 8yrs old. When Aeris(th) was killed I was happy to see another cutscene with Sephiroth and the Masamune, I didn't care that Aeris was killed and was glad she wouldn't be forced in my party anymore. Luna got to me though..
Then you're watching videos about games in the wrong genre. FF is 'bout damn guaranteed to be brought up in anything involving RPG's, especially JRPG's because thankfully, your opinion about FF as a whole is just that, your opinion.
To all those who sacrificed their saves to help me.....thank you. :'( I couldn't have done it without you. I made sure that when I was done, I returned the favor for those who need it. If you were able to complete the secret ending alone, I salute you!
Yeah, without help i wouldnt have completed it too, so i deleted the save without even thinking. Some time later i discovered i could restore some of my older save from the online storage, but that doesnt change the meaning of the decision
you know, I feel like if Ending A had ended right at 6:30, like if it cut to black right then, Route B would have had WAY more impact when the ending happened.
shadowdragon992001 I know I’m a year late but some people don’t get the part that follows unless you do something specific. My endings A and B didn’t have 9S as a robot after
REBELXX LOPEZ would you be surprised if I told you there's a movie where one of the killers slips and falls, lodging his OWN FUCKING CHAINSAW into his side
I just noticed something with that btw. There are 6 pods: 042a, 042b, 042c, 153a, 153b, and 153c. And we see 6 doves in the ending. However, with the pods, we see that one of them is being carried, implying it is unconscious, while the other five are flying freely. Likewise, we see five birds flying out into the sky, before revealing a last one landing where A2 is.
the white pod being carried wasnt unconscious, it was pod 042, 2b's pod, he was the male speaking pod who said he was gonna commit suicide but failed to do so and is embarrassed
I got so many questions from watching this walkthrough: Why do Adam, Eve, 2B, 9S, and A2 all have blood? What created the tower? Was it the aliens (I thought they were primitive)? It doesn't seem to be created by Adam and Eve - does that mean the machines created the tower independent of the aliens and the Tower AI created the brothers? Or was it something created by mankind during the gestalt project? What was the purpose of the YoRHa project? If mankind was already extinct who would want to continue the war and for what purpose? Was it just androids wanting to extend their existence? and if so, why would they choose to delete everything at the end? Were the pods designed by humans or by androids? they play such a major role and act independently too - I don't quite understand how they fit in as just assistance for the androids. If anyone has any answers or just ideas I'd love to hear them.
it was all a simulation that will keep happening until mankind is saved somehow? I don't see how that would be possible considering all humans are dead though... & its not blood, remember androids are designed to look like humans, they have artificial or I forgot the word the used in game to describe the skin, but I think the red blood looking stuff is most likely oil? because they have black boxes built out of machine cores so no need for gasoline or an energy supply outside of a core/black box..but it most likely is oil because they would need to keep all joints in tip top shape seeing how maneuverable androids are...BUT if you continue after the first ending and play 9s's playthrough the first thing you do is play as a stubby machine trying to wake up another machine while calling it 'brother' you have to walk over and get it some oil but that oil is brown...makes me think either the red stuff is a much more refined oil for androids(most likely) or is something else(highly unlikely)
I can see the red oil being a highly refined version for androids, but I still don't get the purpose of keeping the androids fighting for a lost cause and then erasing everything anyways.
There was no meaning. Shortly after Nier dooms the Gestalt project the remaining androids wanted to give themselves something to live for. The aliens invade so they keep the war going on for as long as they can to have a meaning for living. Humanity has been extinct since the ending of Nier 10000+ years before Automata even happens. The point of the ending to this game is to fight for a better future regardless if it will be meaningless in the end. It's basically the ultimate representation of nihilism vs hope. No intelligent organic life forms are alive anymore. Except for Emil who is questionable due to developments from the first Nier.
Oh okay, I can see the logic in that. Does that mean the whole tower and machine AI red girls thing was part of the YoRHa project designed by humanity?
at least when i choose ending 9s is really worthed so sick with full of sadness, i wonder what they will do after no misson and living up together like a couple?
They're all together at the end, unconscious but still together. The way i imagine it is that they all eventually wake up and carry on living, so technically the true ending is good.
I'm glad Ending E existed. I felt terribly down after getting endings C and D. I still feel pretty damn sad for the deceased YoRHa members, Adam, Eve, and especially Popola and Devola who wont survive regardless of the ending.
Well... they didn't survived both 2B,9S and A2. They're survived bodies but... the pods where telling if they choose to help a player in Exchange on deleting Data? Meaning that the Characters Bodies survived but you had to choose, if you want their memories back? or sacrifice their memory by another player who also wants to play 2B,9S and A2 for this Cycle of Life and Death. So baiscally their alive but they don't won't remeber anything so it repeats the story again and again, again, again and again until never ends!
Wait, so does 2B know the truth about humanity and all that? It really doesn't seem so, even though she was designed to kill 9S so he didn't discover the truth and it's implied she has done it a lot even before the start of the game. Personally, I think it's more like she is programmed to not hesitate to mercy kill him instead of looking for options and the missions he is sent to are expected to damage him badly or get the logic virus. If not then did she just suddenly decide to kill him at random intervals for no reason and she didn't question it?
Deu2Ex She does... have you watched Edge of Tomorrow? This is just the same. She knows everything about 9S, yet, her role forces her to keep killing him to end his misery when he finds out about the truth. She keeps doing it over and over. Eventually, she gives in, she cannot take it any longer and requests A2 to carry on her mission. Probably, her suffering from her role - 9S' executioner makes her such a cool and composed character. Love her!
2B is so strict about androids not being allowed to be emotional and is hesitant to use nicknames like "Nines" for 9S because she doesn't want to develop a strong attachment to 9S. You can tell the ice queen act is a coping strategy rather than her true character because there are times when she slips and becomes emotional and protective even when she's trying to avoid it. The background you learn from the additional endings really changes your perceptions of 2B and A2. There are very good reasons why they act the way they do. They've both endured a lot.
Deu2Ex yeah I think she knew that she has to kill 9s at some point but that's why she said "it always end like this " after she killed 9s but before she do it she clench her Fists 👊 and Remember that at the beginning of the game in the bunker she does the same (clench her fists ) she started getting sentimental with 9S during the castle mission cause she said "Nines" for the first time. After 2B killed 9s she couldn't resist the pain but then she got really happy when 9s still alive. That's where the Cycle of 2B killings 9s Ends and the rest is just all new for all of them they did not know about the Adam and Eve or the Tower or anything like that. Not even the commander. Cause in the tower there was a document with class SS confidential that not even the commander has access Which make me think if all this is some kind of experiment by the Humans in the moon ? Or the Aliens ? Or the machines ? Don't known (that's what I think I may be wrong, not sure to be honest but that's what makes this game a masterpiece.) Also THERE is message for 9S from 2B in the flooded city after the tower appears that says That spending time with him were like lightening memories or something like that. It makes me think that 2B role of killing 9S model has ended since the beginning of the game. (Aahhhhh it's so confusing! ACTIVATING AUTO DESTRUCTION.
Executioner models kill other androids as needed to continue the cycle of endless war. 2B clinches her fist in that early scene after the "Glory to Mankind" exchanges because she knows it's all a farce and is so frustrated with having to continuously eliminate fellow androids who think they are fighting for a legitimate cause. There is also a sidequest in which another Executioner model who is becoming deranged eventually realizes she has assassinated many androids, including those close to her, and repeatedly had her memory erased afterwards.
AKSBSU now that you said it. It's starting to make sense now. Thanks for this clarification!!! What do you think about the tower, with what purposes they made it and who made it? and what do you think about ending E (The [E]nd of YoRHa ) and there are 2 rooms in the library's Tower one has some kind of trophies little version of the Enemies and the other room it's like a writing room. Also the Tower seems to be made out of the same material as the Copied City. Who made it if Adam was dead? •_____•
To those who sacrificed their saves to help others, thank you. I could not have seen the final ending if not for you. Realizing this, I too sacrificed my saves and sent a signal of hope across the network. Never give up!
Well there are some concert readings that have 2 endings to E ending that show what happens later. So in one 2B wakes up but 9S does not bcs it seems hes damaged beyond repair and even tho 2B tried to wake him up she failed and thus she stayed next to him or killed herself, eitherway died. And on the other ending 2B manages to repair and wake up 9S. So its like one of the ending with a possibility of happy ending... lol
Automata is in my Top 3 game ever and I'm playing for 25 years. Never thought that there will be game which could be so much deep, innovative and with great soundtrack. Thank you Yoko Taro
It will forever blow me away how brillant the storytelling is. With each ending you get closer and closer to the truth and you'll only understand once you have seen everything.
Even then you won't understand. Fasten your seat belts boys and girls. You've got LORE to read. Automata has multiple novels. 1 is a retelling of the story, another is a collection of short stories, and another is a story about scanner models. Then there's art books that also contain lore, guide books with lore, stage plays with lore, and even blu Ray DVD concerts with lore. The real kick in the nuts? The majority of character development comes from these side materials. Making the game even more soul crushing when you actually understand the characters and world.
yoko taro’s been doing this all the way since drakengard 1- oh you finished the game? play it again for a different ending! i’d highly recommend checking out the rest of the drakenier series if you haven’t already, they’re not quite as polished as automata and they’re kind of janky but they’re all a hell of a trip and give you some insight on how humanity ends up extinct in automata
The conversation between the pods in ending E is so beautiful. “A future is not given to you it is something you must take for yourself that quote will always give me a sense of hope.
Each machine location kind of had its own subsection being the carnival place for the beauty, the factory which was the machines experiencing religion for the first time etc.
Did the platinum yesterday. A beautiful story i will keep in my heart all my life. Will play Nier on ps3 next because i want to know more about Emil and Nier. Greetings from Germany
@@mehmetegemengungor7048 yeah rdr2 doesn't even come close to being as good of a game for me as automata. Rdr2 for me is more of a cool reality sim but for the cowboy days, and the story is alright. Arthur is definitely a really well written character, but I just can't relate to dying of sickness the same way I can relate to existential crisis and questions of the characters of automata. Also because automatas story is so philosophical, I find it to be more meaningful outright than any non philosophical story. Music and combat are no Brainers in favor of automata. It's all just too dang good. Graphics definitely go to rdr2, but art style/direction 100% goes to automata. Voice acting also automata. The NieR games are insanely good for their dub voice acting.
I like the other cool idea in this game being when you play as 2b you see things through her perspective and of course she is a fighter model so of course you are just fighting machines, with 9s on your second play through you see things from his perspective and since he is a scanner model 9s is more intellectually more perspective and thus you find all the hidden layers of the game you didn't find out before because of 2b perspective, this is why I love this game so much the subtle ideas like that, you then discover the machines lust for beauty like Simone that you hadn't before and other stuff like the truth about yorha etc.
The games a trip for sure. Truly a masterpiece, I really want a spiritual successor not to many game developers can hit the notes nier does hell most don't even try I can't help but want more.
You forgot the other version of ending D where you choose to stay. Then theres a bit of dialogue from 9S something like "2B, so thats where you were" whilst looking at the sky. Then the tower falls etc. same as the other ending of D
I dont think I was capable of going through the game multiple time to discover all these endings, so really glad this is here. and now I understand why 9S is in the image when you boot up the game.
Yeah guy...just fall on 2B's sword, the sword that basically just reminded reminded A2 to take care of you instead of killing you. Sorry, had to say it. 9S has the Tidus effect going on, I didn't like him at first but the little guy grew on me over time. It didn't take as long as it did with Tidus but still has the same effect.
I don't know if these words ever reach to them but I would like to thank Nico(GOne) , Rayne and COnic for their sacrifice that allowed me to finish this!
So, I think the question a lot of people asked themselves is "Well, okay, is the ending good, bad, or open?" And the answer is it's a little bit of all of them, but mostly good. - A2, 2B and 9S are all alive at the end, the pods rebuild them in the E ending. That much is clear. With Project Yorha having been destroyed, 2B (2E) also has no reason to kill 9S anymore, since that instruction was part of the Yorha project. In the concert's bad ending though, 9S was mentally broken beyond repair and 2B sits by him quietly for a long time. So, this means 9S might be the only one of the 3 that actually gets screwed in the end. - As for A2 specifically, she probably just stays with the resistance camp since she knows Anemone. - Following this up, in Emil's Head's weapon story, we see that a thousand years into the future the machines rebuilt the network and created anti-gravity systems again. I'll be honest, the implications of this are kind of lost on me, but that is worth mentioning. BUT, more importantly, Emil sees one android wearing black (which, we know must be 2B since the other Yorha are gone), walking around. Because 9S isn't mentioned, it could mean that the concert's bad ending is canon, as Emil only sees 2B. - "Will the machines and the androids fight again?" Well, without the Machine Network (the one that had infected the Yorha, not the one Emil is talking about) the machines can make their own choices. This means that yeah, probably conflicts will start because when you put two people in a room with their own wills problems can come up. So, while it won't be the same as before, there could be fighting in the future. - "What happened to the other Yorha? A2 couldn't have been the only one." Well yeah, there are probably some uninfected Yorha just walking around. As for the ones on the moon, now that the Machine Network left, it's unclear what's their result. - "What happened to the people who created Project Yorha?" Well, there's two possibilities, either they were being controlled by the Machine Network, or they weren't. If they were, then it's the same as the Yorha on the moon. If they weren't, then we just don't know. Those are all the questions I can think of.
Finished ending E today along With D since 2B died i knew 9S was gonna change didnt expect him to become a bad guy but his story is so sad he loses the bunker the girl he probably liked.. then has to kill his operator too
i didnt play the game for long because although its a great game this mix of genres aint my cup of tea but i always come back to this game from time to time by reading theorys or summarys and stuff like that. this game is a masterpiece because even though i will never play it im not able to entirely forgett about and/or ignore it either.
