Thank you for pointing out that for the majority of boating (sailbots) EP is completely viable.

I was wondering if you could reduce to 1 diesel burner on a cruising sailboat, so install an electric motor, driven by regular diesel engine OR generator + sufficient battery pack for some autonomy for silent propulsion and or Airconditioning at night without burning oil. Get rid of 1 motor, so less infrastructure+real estate would to me seem biggest win in this hybrid puzzle, especially on 40-44 foot boats (my sweatspot of almost realistic dreamyacht)
