About 3 in 4 of the electorate did not vote for Woke Remoan Brexit hating & working class hating & unpatriotic Starmerism. (Low turnout & only 1 in 3 voted for Labour, whose support is as wide as the sea's but as shallow as the garden ponds). Labour will suffer a huge defeat in 2026 to 2028 if the centre-right unites Suellas 5 families + UKIP + Faragites. If they don't unite, then Labours' huge defeat can be delayed until 2029. Democracy….. ahhh. Don’t you just LOVE IT ! ? A land where government DOES what the people actually WANT & NEED ! Oh dear…You NEVER had that mate. NEVER will. BECAUSE…You have the WRONG political system. Maybe it was a good idea 300 years ago, but not for today nor tomorrow. It generally attracts the wrong sort of people for a start!. I mean, just look at their schoolyard behaviour where “point scoring” put-downs of other elected members of parliament is considered a “win”! Essentially most of them are “bully salesmen” who try to get their their persuade and bribe you, that ONLY THEIR ideas are great (vote for MEEEE). Sadly, ALL parties do the same - Was designed to be like that !! The notion that ALL the PEOPLE HAVE CLEAR NEEDS is not even considered!!. Another childhood dream is that “Competition” yields the best results! This has some truth, but only in the very short term!. COOPERATION YIELDS THE BEST CONTINUOUS SUSTAINABLE IMPROVEMENTS. JUST PROGRESS LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE Establish a national “Register of Visions” summarising the Will of the People. (Health, Housing, Education, Employment, Crime & Safety, Drugs, Immigration, Taxation, Societal Cohesion, Foreign Affairs, Welfare, Trade & Industry, etc etc ). A register Established at census time for each Voter - with real-time Web access for timely updates like Gaza, Ukraine etc etc ad nauseam. And don’t worry, AI will make short work of creating a succinct coherent unambiguous statement of requirements from the millions of Vision submissions! Certainly a BETTER WAY for the Nation. (Unless of course you are already part of the 1% thriving/thieving elite , then yes, you will experience a relative decline in your unwarranted privilege, decadence and legalised theft!). At the moment, China looks remarkably democratic when compared with you lot !

A government voted into power by only 1:5, 21% (60% turnout of 34% share) of the electorate winning 64% of the seats in Parliament is not democracy and cannot represent the nation. Labour is not a solution, just a continuation of the problem. Reform.
@MyRockActivewear
@MyRockActivewear 12 дней назад
That's correct. Another person stated how votes can be cast by recent immigrants; which needs to be stopped. Labour is not a true reflection of the public people at all and as you say a 'continuation of the problem' if not what will become and 'exacerbation' of the issues at hand.

The Alternative Vote system just benefited the duopoly. PR with a regional list would express more voter opinions.
@PibrochPonder
@PibrochPonder 12 дней назад
First Past the Post (FPTP) voting can be dangerously destabilising because it allows minority groups with concentrated regional support to disproportionately influence the majority. In FPTP, a sectarian or regional group can win multiple seats by securing a majority in specific areas, even if their overall national vote share is small. This means that parties representing minority interests can gain significant legislative power, pushing their agendas despite widespread opposition. For instance, if a minority sectarian group is strong in particular regions, they can win those seats while a more popular but widely dispersed majority fails to secure equivalent representation. This not only skews governance but also exacerbates polarisation and marginalisation. The broader majority may feel disenfranchised and resentful, leading to increased political instability and division. We need to be aware of how these dynamics can destabilise our political systems and consider reforms that ensure fairer representation for all.

In my region they hated Labour but didn't want tories...yet Labour somehow got huge votes...there not popular here...yet they won, reforms seats we were expecting at least 10...the numbers just don't add up on this..

I was born and grew up in the UK but moved to Israel many years ago PR is the system in Israel I can therefore compare PR with FPTP PR: Advantages: gives better representation for all parties regardless of size Disadvantages: You vote for a party list and not for an individual candidate. The order of appearance in the list is determined by party hacks (sometimes by primaries between party members). The elected MP is not responsible to a specific constituency that has a specific representative. It encourages the appearance of numerous parties. It is difficult for any one party to obtain an overall majority. FPTP: Exactly the opposite of the above. As Churchill once said: democracy is a very bad system of government but the alternatives are far worse
