I’m absolutely disgusted. I really feel for this poor couple, and they’ve been offered less than the immigrates that have cost them their jobs and home. The government wonder why more and more people are turning to the far right.

Further to this immediate problem is the long term economic effects of the resort towns. Hotels full of migrants means no vacancies for tourists, which means businesses may have to close. Then you have those who lost their jobs, and those who can no longer find employment in the hotel industry or the closed businesses. If I, as one person can see the far reaching effects, then surely the politicians can too, but they don’t appear to care.

For the government to go to Devon or Cornwall and make hotel workers unemployed is criminal. Work is hard enough to find in the South West, and mainly summertime when visitors are coming for a break. The immigrants are given £30 a week spending money, how are they going to be able to afford to spend on helping that economy. It is a shame and a disgrace.

My daughter was evicted from her flat this year,2 children,sent to a hotel,then told hotel was "full" (420+ rooms) moved to different hotel,then to another hotel,then to a tiny 2 bed "flat" until they get somewhere permanent,very upsetting for them all,she works,one child junior school youngest nursery, all she was entitled to know was the landlord wanted to buy back his block of flats from the housing association,disgraceful.

I can see civil unrest coming to this country.

If the accommodation in tourist destinations is taken out of tourism, then all the other businesses which exist because of tourism will go bust immediately. Pubs, clubs, restaurants, gift shops, rides etc. I can just imagine the local councillors wondering why everyone has reverted to foreign holidays and their towns turn into ghettos. I also wonder if the extra benefits claimed by workers who lose their jobs and the loss of tax revenue from their lost wages will be totted up and added to the £7M per day we have already heard about?

I saw Nigel in the theatre in Torquay a few years ago when he was doing "An Evening With" kind of thing and I don't even then he could predict this. I live in Torquay and unless Torbay Council are very careful, this place will turn into the new Blackpool...This summer the demographic already changed with many people noting the difference..tourists especially. Our MP has challenged this in Court, but will it be enough. I wouldn't want kids down by the harbour on a summer evening any more with these roving bands of hooded itinerants mooching around

I cannot believe what I’m watching …….. this is utterly unbelievable

I live in Torbay. This is the THIRD Hotel ( that we know of) that has been taken over by these "asylum seekers". Torquay has a really, really bad homeless problem. We has an area called "Factory Row" that is overrun with homeless men...they get little to no help from anyone and there are beggars sitting on the pavements of Fleet Walk , daily, and outside the closed down Debenhams Store. We have very little money in this area...the main jobs are in Catering and in Care. We, like many other parts of the UK, have young people with children whose older parents are having to house them, and their Grandchildren, because the housing waiting lists are so long. Please take these young "asylum seeker" men and keep them in proper Detention Centres until their applications are processed. We have no idea who any of them are and we are supposed to accept their bring placed amongst us?!

Please, Nigel, give us a party to vote for!
