Dan Wootton discusses Nigel Farage and Reform UK’s five MPs entering the House of Commons for the first time as the right-wing faces a revolution.
Meanwhile, the Conservative party enters a civil war with Suella Braverman launching a bold attack in Washington DC on her former colleagues and the PopCon conference being hosted in London.
We get the best analysis from re-elected Tory MP Mark Francois, PopCon director and Liz Truss ally Mark Littlewood, and Former Conservative Education Minister Andrea Jenkyns.
Then June Slater gives her outspoken take on the big news stories of the day.

I've voted Tory all my life but after the Tories totally failed to honor the manifesto of 2019, you destroyed yourselves and totally treated your supporters with contempt, and that betrayal is why I will never vote Tory again. It is the POLICIES that Reform have is the reason why I voted for them.

@flemster8370 @@dibradshaw9968They don't get "paid" anything. They can claim up to £115k for public office expenses if they continue to fulfill a public role, it's unclear what that role needs to be in order to claim it. In published figures Major & Blair have taken it all in recent years, Brown took slightly under, as did Cameron. May took considerably less until 22/23. Boris hasn't taken anything and Liz Truss £23k in 22/23. They are entitled to a severance payment, as do ministers when losing office of a quarter of their PM/Ministers salary (not inc the MP portion). MPs get 4 month severance like many people on that level of salary who are made redundant, I don't think any of it is particularly excessive. For me, & many of us, that would be a huge amount of money but you have to look at it in the context of what their salary was. Redundancy payments in any job is fair.

Conservatives need to start fighting for Britain, our customs and our heritage and stop pandering to groups who are constantly bemoaning Britain. I want to celebrate Christmas and Easter but that is not allowed in certain areas, we have to have Happy holidays so as not to offend. As far as I am concerned if you are offended live somewhere else. I am considerate of other people celebrating their religions and customs, sadly that consideration is not always reciprocated and we are expected to keep quiet or be accused of being a racist…..which I am not, I simply love my country. This woke and gender business is getting out of hand and needs to stop. The Illegal immigrant situation has to be dealt with and IMO having a strong deterrent is needed. My nearest town had 10 hotels housing the boat arrivals. Usually these hotels are full of tourists which In turn help the local economy. I won’t be voting Conservative again anytime soon unless they sort themselves out pretty quickly. I will keep voting Reform UK.🇬🇧

As a dual British/French citizen, I voted quite a bit recently, both in France and UK. I voted Reform and Rassemblement National. Not, as many refer to, as extreme right, but in my view, just on the right side. Neither won oustandingly, but Nigel's party had more votes than the Liberal democrats of which my constituency falls within. In France the same, more votes but less seats. I agree with you Dan. I have voted Conservative all my voting life and I am in my 70's. This election however I voted for Reform and not only that, my MP is Suella Braverman, a good constituency MP and on the correct and right side of the party and yet I still voted Reform. That must show the clowns in the Tory establishment that moving the party to the centre or even left of centre, is not what Conservative voters and members want. I can't see, even with someone on the right of the party, becoming the leader, them bouncing back from this and the next election, if in 5 years, with Reform taking more of the right away from the Conservatives. Looking back over the last 14 years, what did we have. 1. Cameron, who tried his hardest to be a Tony Blair facsimile, well to the left of the party, who lost the referendum and resigned, when he should have turned round to the electorate and said, "I accept the result and will now implement that result". A total coward. 2. Theresa May who did nothing but play politics with the EU, a left of centre Tory, a useless PM again put in by the establishment. 3. Bumbling Boris, yes a character but failed to get Brexit done, and allowed the country to get Brino. He implement Lockdowns and jabs when they all knew that the science was a pack of lies and then had the audacity to lie, not only to the British people but also parliament itself. 4. Liz Truss. Voted in by the members, going against the flow of the Tory establishment, who made a fundamental mistake in the choice of chancellor, causing her downfall but had the makings of bringing the party back to true Conservatism. The Tory establishment, did not like that and did everything to ensure she resigned. 5. Wishy Washy Sunac, put in by the wets of the Tory backroom boys, without a vote by the members, yet again and therefore even party members voted for Reform. As left and as wet as they come. Fundamental change will be required before I will even consider voting Conservative ever again. My membership will be a non event and I am considering joining reform as a party member.

It also needs to start respecting individual Core conservative members in selecting the Party leader… no change without election and scrap the MP element of the selection process.
