The judges have to realise that it's only wk6. We all know who Shirley's favourite is. Nowt got said about his moonwalk or how good the dance is or even their partnership is just how he made mistakes. I think it's time to say bye bye to Shirley & Motsi. OMG Motsi voice is like nails down a blackboard I have to mute her & put subtitles on.
@@nanasboys-qb7mr It’s just ridiculous how they can’t pick up positives from the dance content when there’s a lot considering Katya is making him do lots of things and they obsess about the negatives you would think that’s a duffer routine or something. While they can praise routines that aren’t nearly as good and don’t have that much content . The judges could have easily picked 2 positives and 2 criticism . There’s actually a lot to praise in this routine it’s annoying how they didn’t highlight any
They bring it every week, not just dancing steps but a theatricality, an atmosphere. They are the ones I look forward to watching every week, odd mistake and all.
Criminally underscored. He got the same score as Bobby and yet the judges were so much harsher to Nigel. He has improved so much! Hope the public saves him -- he's such a great dancer!
I absolutely loved this. I cannot believe the comments from the judges, one in particular. I genuinely cannot see where the mistakes were. I cannot believe there wasn't more focus on all the amazing things about this routine, of which there are many!!!
There were some really great points of this dance, the choreography and concept was SO GOOD! Shame about the couple of mistakes but the comments felt overly harsh and really deflating for Nigel. Would be nice for the judges to remember the celebs are all human and being critical rather than constructive is not helpful! He has all the ability, I wish he finds that belief within himself and produces more great performances!
What does Nigel have to do to impress the judges? I absolutely love watching him, he's completely brilliant. Come on judges, stop being so hard on him 😢
Wow! What a great Cha Cha! Just like with Layton, it is really shows how amazing a Cha Cha dance can be. The speed in which he executed the steps and the immaculate character! Another amazing dance from Nigel, and the display of Katya's art!
@@dyaneleblanc6447 Well to be fair Nigel is an actor... whereas Layton has had a hell of a lot of dance training from a young age...i really don't think it's fair to compare (don't get me wrong...i think Laytons brilliant)
@@deltafay1981 lol. Yes we’ve pounded that one in the ground pretty much. Layton is also an actor. Yes when he was a kid and got the role of billy Elliot he couldn’t dance and had to learn ballet and rap and yes he dances. Your argument would have merit if he was fully trained in ballroom and if he was given basic beginner choreography but he’s not. Maybe unaware but many west end , broadway performers as well as pop artist who dance and hip hop dancers have been on the show (dwts, scd)way before Layton.. they all agree it’s very difficult even if you’ve danced before because it’s technical and precise . So I cut Layton slack because like the others before him and after him they all work hard and put in the hours like all the rest. So put it to rest and stop hating on him for ridiculous reasons. He’s working hard and not cheating by doing beginner dances.
@@dyaneleblanc6447I like Layton and no hate to him as I am a fan, but it's disingenuous to pretend he hasn't had substantial training. I've seen him in a couple of shows so know his level of dance ability and have family in the business so know the difference between an actor singer, triple threat etc and Layton is definitely more that an actor who has learned a bit of dance.Yes, he is trying to undo things he has learned and no he hasn't learned Latin / ballroom before but he has a skill set to learn dances. Pointing that out isn't hating. I wouldn't mind if he won, I have no clear favourite (though there are a few I don't want to win!), but I suspect people won't vote for him for reasons that are beyond his training unfortunately.
Whatever lemons the producers throw at Katya, she makes choreography lemonade! I mean a Cha cha to I was made for loving you? Love her and hope that she and Nigel make it through
I was so sad for Nigel, he looked so defeated, Shirley was very hard on him, well she always is. She just can't help herself, every year the same. She has couples that she doesn't like for some reason only known to her and then every week gives brutal and rude comments. Since she is the person who always moans about people beeing unkind to her I found it so hypocritical
Always a little bit mean to Katya Jones and Karen Hauer and partners each year I’ve noticed. Shirley has some green eyed monster for the younger female Celebs. Just an observation.
I quiet I agree with you my dear sister Shirley the head judge of strictly come dancing has that problem with almost all the Couples that take part in strictly come dancing every year that the same thing and can not understand what her problem is with the strictly come dancing celebrities
What?! What?! What?! Why are the judges being so harsh?! They're acting like he did so horribly! Absolutely not! This is a travesty of judgement! They really dug into them and that was not necessary. Nigel is an amateur and expecting perfection is futile.
Yes he did make a couple of mistakes, but he covered them well and kept dancing. I thought the judges were especially harsh, and they all failed to mention how amazing the BLOODY MOONWALK moment was!
I thought this was a good effort. Shirley must have it in for nigel, she's never got anything good to say about him. Stay strong nigel, you've got this ❤
It was Katya Jones that went wrong at 1:01 not Nigel. Felt Shirley was unfair for critiquing Nigel for it. It happens but don’t blame the celeb. I love this partnership you never know what to expect each week from them
@@scattygirl1 One dicey spot is ca. 0:58 They do two consecutive New Yorkers, but after he starts a timid third one, you can see that his feet are only marking time, whereas Katya is dancing.
Score - *8/10* I know there were mistakes but, they were covered up quite well and there was still alot of good bits in this, the hip action was strong and the beginning was very good. It was a great routine and choreography, the drop went really well, it was funky, it was confident, it moved well and it was enjoyable. Much better than last week but I just don't quite think Nigel has topped that Paso just yet sadly and he set himself too high too soon it seems
Thought this was a great routine...you could see when Nigel messed the timing up a couple of times, but who cares...when he moves he really moves. Great chemistry...... i really hope these 2 make the final
I enjoyed this cha cha. It’s a difficult dance and I feel Katya’s choreography brought something different to it. I loved Nigel’s moonwalk and the undead bride theme. Katya’s tiny mix up wasn’t his fault at all. Shirley was very harsh for penalising him. I thought it was a fun Halloween themed number. Well done Nigel! Love your Latin numbers 👏🏼
He is brilliant. However, I think that since he has been performing well since the start, there's added pressure on him to do well throughout the show, hence the criticism from Shirley et al. But I expect he will go far, he has been performing to the highest standard. Have a good day reader
@@louisemcd2937the judge's need to be firm and no nonsense whilst offering helpful feedback. At times I find Anton and motsi are soft, but Anton is a crowd favourite (don't ever change). Also when a judge like Shirley or Craig give a ten, we remember it. Have a good day
Too many mistakes? None that I could see. Hips were quite good. These sorts of dances like Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Samba etc, really suits his personality and I think these are his types of dances for me. He’s good in ballroom too but he’s better in Latin! Criminally underscored for me there, he improves week on week too, Katya is incredible once again, brings out the best in him and frankly all of her students! Well done!
Unfairly criticised and underscored again, as he is most weeks. Nevermind, he's so popular with the public, who will simply retaliate each week. Bring it on! All the pros are great but Katya (and maybe a couple of others) have the edge especially in the choreography department - so creative! I have a few fave couples this series but this is my über-fave couple. Voting for you every week! THIS was a 9 for me, Craig (as well as Layton, Angela S and Ellie).
Why are they over indulging Zara every week, yet incredibly harsh on Nigel?? Well done guys!! Katya is such a beautiful and technically gifted dancer & choreographer. Imho, it was a great dance!! No one's perfect but i think Zara is like a plank of wood and shes still softly softly marked by all four judges!! Lol! 💯🤷🤷🤷
To be honest, each year I find the Halloween dances get more and more uninspiring and generally lackluster, with regurgitated themes, songs and makeup/ fashion choices. This dance and Lauren/ Krishnan's Victorian London theme were the only two I actually found refreshing to watch tonight in terms of eye catching spooky theme and costuming, and of course, Katya's interesting choreo. The only negative with Krishnan and Lauren was the song. I love 'Kiss From A Rose' but its overused on Strictly, a sinister instrumental or a song like Warren Zevon's 'Werewolfs of London' or 'Spooky' by Dusty Springfield would have been cool, although not sure if these songs would have suited a Viennese Waltz.
Katya went wrong at 1:01 that’s not Nigel’s fault. It happens in live tv. I felt Shirley was quite mean this week. I felt Nigel was good especially the moonwalk and acting part
They said in it takes 2 that they were portraying a bride and groom who have been dead for 200 years and come back from the dead on their wedding anniversary each year to get married again.
@@TheClairex Thanks so much, in the end, I'd imagined that Katya was Miss Haversham from Great Expectations but couldn't figure out who her ancient beau could be! 😊
As someone who does not live in the UK I am very curious about Shirley’s comments. I’ve understood that she was being very harsh, anyone who would like to repeat what she said?
She didn't say anything harsh she said what the other judges said. He went out of time and made mistakes. Nigel crazy fans make it look like she tired to kill him. He got a 7 from her for god sake
@louisemcd2937 because every comment trying to make Nigel seem like he was done dirty is wrong? He got a 30? Zara hasn't even scored that much yet. The poor nigel narrative is not a thing for someone with so much west end dance experience. He's a grown man
So you think it’s okay to knock someone’s confidence like that and not even praise him for the many fab bits? There’s one thing giving constructive criticism, but totally another to be damn right rude and disrespectful.
How come Nigel made mistakes in his Cha Cha and Shirley only focused on the mistakes he made and not how he got out of them but when Layton makes mistakes in his Tango, Shirley didn’t just focus on the mistakes he made? Disgusting favouritism from Shirley. P.S. I am not attacking Shirley or Layton so please don’t respond by saying how much I’m bullying them.
so the judges say that "we're halfway"..hmm...plenty more from dirty den's son, rather than holby...i think there could be biased in the judges' votes...he'll take it on the chin (the judges' comments)...go nigel!
our scores: me: 8 diya: 7 kelsey: 8 owen: 7 30/40 i know i rant about shirley a lot, but she ruins every show for me, she forgets this an entertainment show and not the world championship. he got out of time once or twice, THATS IT. its not that deep! a bit rigid at times but overall another decent dance from nigel.
This was good a few mistakes but we are only halfway through can't expect everything completely perfect yet maybe when we hit Blackpool yes, but not yet 7/10
@@ravenclawrumba7096though it wasn’t Katya who did the mistake . It was Nigel and she reacted to him to not make it obvious there was even a mistake for the untrained eyes . There were other mistakes from Nigel as well.
This lost steam every once in a while. Parts were great others not. Watched a couple times and saw a little weird thing with his foot work and I think katya noticed too. It wasn’t my favorite, sorry. 8 for the good parts
7/10 There was too many mistakes for me as Shirley said, I just feel like he’s not giving it 100% as the same with a few others, however the hip action was good and I liked the beginning.
Shirley is an incredible dancer, however, everytime she hears the crowd boo at her, she patronisingly tells them to listen and learn!!! The rest of the judges can get booed, but only Shirley moans about it!! Her scoring is a bit disproportionate tonight. Zara is not a good dancer, she's a plank of wood. Annabelle is better but not much. Lol!
So Nigel and Katya I'll be honest he was really good and I really liked it but again the dance did feel a tad stilted at times and the thing is there were mistakes as we noted before. 7.
I think S B should not have favourites . She do,s this every series ,especially to the women .She had her time ,many years ago .Times have moved on .SHIRLEY .
Clearly they are more than a dance couple. Completely understandable btw when you are completely mentally and physically involved with the same person for months. Basically, when you are serious about your relationship you probably shouldn´t risk participating in this show.
Typical. Low marks and criticism. Clearly he isn’t one of Shirley’s favourite just like Matt Goss last year. Is it because he’s a normal bloke. Not a box ticker. This year has clearly been tailored made so we have a gay winner!! BBC political correctness. This show isn’t as good as it was before we went woke
No she didn’t. She did ccc steps that she also used with previous partners ( before Nikita was in the show . so if anything it’s Nikita who copied from her 😉). Besides the rotating bit is something Katya did before Nikita copied her 😌( with Ed balls and Adam peaty ). And of course she added her unique moves in this routine
