Grew up across the river. Worked in NYC , spent time in all five boroughs. Met some great people along the way. But now I moved far from it, it's sunshine and sandy beaches for me now. Gotta' say though I miss the East coast.. I miss it.

"Jack the Ripper," my generation called him, "Jake the Jip." I got my first Schwinn Stingray from there in the mid 1960s. I'm not certain as to when he opened the shop but clearly, he has been in the neighborhood for at least 50 years, still smoking, and not looking too different from 50 years ago, this guy is in not only a ripoff but a phenomenon and one of the two longest business owners in Laurelton. The other is King George Fish Market, interestingly enough, another ripoff artist. Support them anyway, the are the last of long bygone eras of Laurelton.

Once they make it, it opens the opportunity for other ventures. He currently owns his own bike shop on top of the sponsorships he has. Also idk much about the bmx market but if its similar to skateboarding, he gets paid for contests he enters they can pay big money. Plus, a house doesn't say crap about how much money you have.

Can't really blame parents though. That BMX shit doesn't really pop off especially for black kids. Same goes for the whole skate board thing. Any parent would be terrified if their seed decides biking or skate boarding oppose to enrolling in College.
