This is the man that has made most sense and communicated it effectively. I argue that outside Lagos and some government agencies, 20% os staff is enough to do the work . In some roles, 10% is enough to do the work. But can government fire even 50% of work force?
I know it will be difficult because not only is the government unwilling (there is corruption in personnel management, generally) but the Unions have government (both at the state and federal levels) in a chokehold. Labour will DEFINITELY not allow the government to fire them without a very nasty and drawn-out fight. Can you recall when NEPA was unbundled? Electricity Union workers went on strike for months!
Multilateral institutions are evil. Still lending Nigeria money, knowing fully well most times it’s never put to good use. Thank you Mr Chukwu they won’t listen, remember we need to buy jets for the commanders. You are so right on the issue on Civil Servants. Thanks for educating me on economic issues.
This is ironic. It looks like people who know are not in government directing the affairs of the nation, but those who don't know are in government directing the affairs. Your guest today seems to know what is actually going on.
All the governments have taken the path of least resistance by focusing on road constructions and leaving out the main need of the people and economy, which is electricity. Imagine spending 15 trillion Naira on a coastal highway and spending millions of Naira annually to power lights along the road. So unimaginable that some people, including the uncommon sense, Ben Bruce could insult the sensibility of Nigerians with his unguided remark.....#wearenotready!!!
