this makes sense when you are a small country and you dont really have a military capable of protecting it - look at what happened to Qhadafi and Sadsam when they were hoarding gold to try and get off the dollar system. If you aint got the punch and the big-boomer-fast-movers to hold onto it and to make invasion an undesirable prospect for your rivals, all your gold can be jacked fairly easily. Why do you think a small hermit country like North Korea hasnt been invaded yet? Because they're armed to the teeth and they are an undesirable prospect.

Yet after WW1, the US had so much gold, after profiteering from the Europeans, France, Germany, Russia and Britain up to 1917. that they didn't know what to do with it. There are different groups here, you can go to prison for membership of these groups. We aren't talking about the Scouts. There are leaders and there are people who might even believe that they are in charge lol. WE should all keep our cash and valuables in our own possession including the 401K's and IRA's , what you end up with is locked in USD, that will soon be worthless, or so low you can,t even survive from it. and taxes will be taken out too. better you have your own in your own possession ( in hand or IN vault close to home.) try to deal in silver and gold, leave the banks , as soon as you get "paid " take it out and buy lasting value with it , and only keep as much as you need to pay bills , but don,t let criminals use it to their favor but shares nothing with you.

@fraugendaz ,They sell it in the market just like any other investor. So the BoJ will probably call one of the big Japanese banks in New York or London and give them the order to sell Treasuries. The Japanese bank will call a broker dealer and ask them for a quote.

I am a old family of Nigeria...we used to own gold mines in the Tsohon Birnin Gwari-Kwaga area. Most of our gold is still not refined...though we have a few tonnes refined and made into ingots. Our ingots weigh 498 gms exact. Till recently we held our gold in the US..at the FED Manhattan vault. We have taken it out. Its still in the US. We need a safe place to store it.
