Lifting visa restrictions is not the most important thing for the country. Basic governance that guarantees security and enable people to earn a daily bread in peace will lead to even more prosperity.

Stop this! He just made a point, you are just hypocritical. What does uae have to offer you? Why must you leave your country if it's habitable? Do you know people are really hungry and suffering as a result of subsidy removal? How does lifting a visa ban correct that? Think right

Seeing how the Blue Line has made life easier for Lagosians, one cannot help but wonder how much relief and progress it would have made if established when it was first conceived before cancellation in 1985. And yes, in 1985 Muhammadu Buhari canceled the project at a loss of over $78 million to the state taxpayers. Yet, the same man came and promised "change" and we believed him.

Having worked in the the diaspora transport industry, and predominantly rail sector, I am keen to know what the operation and maintenance program for this rail line will look like, as well as the safety of commuters and their patronage. If the transport industry is managed effectively, this will boot the economy through networking communities to foster enhanced trading and infrastructural development, which creates more job opportunities. Someday, I hope to serve Nigerians in the capacity of a transport minister, with an extensive corporate and operational experience gained in the international transport industry

As an urban & regional development planner, I feel two sad mistakes were made building this metroline system, based on the route approved for this project. One is, why is CMS central business district the final destination on the island and not Leventis CBD? The beautiful water front landscape of CMS at the marina was sadly, deliberately destroyed to make way for this project which then makes me wonder what highly trained, experienced engineer will design and build the high concrete structures which elevates the heavy metroline train, side by side bridges carrying vehicles with very little space separating the two? Is he not aware of the vibrational laws of motion in physics as it relates to the pull between two objects that are close to each other? The second is, why the 3rd mainland bridge water front route from the Osborne foreshore area, was not considered as an alternative ideal route for island-mainland to ease the heavy passenger traffic in Lagos? From here, one can extend it further towards Anthony central business district on the mainland which links major areas like Ikeja, kosofe, surulere etc. This two routes, would have solved most of the heavy passenger and vehicle traffic problems Lagos is known for and still retain her beautiful city landscape. I may be wrong, no one is perfect but these are my thoughts. 🤔🙄

These are interesting thoughts! I am no urban development planner but I assume the plan is to get the trains separated from the road, to get as many people off the road so the road won’t be as congested, hence all the alternative routes.
