Making this and ground nut stew for my Juneteenth holiday. I made soul food yesterday now making something from my brothers and sisters on the continent. Much love ❤
I thought my Nigerian bf to fry the rice when he put the oil and the onion and he loved how it came out, I’m Mexican and we do our rice that way, now every time he cooks jolof he fries the rice first 🤭
As a Russian I can say that Jollof rice is one of the most delicious dish in the world!!! So much flavours!!! Amazing !!! Thank you Africa for such a delicious dish!!! ❤️🇷🇺
@brooklynboss7203 Your ascertions are not just completaments but deep and profound. Your mouth did not just say these words but your soul confirmed it. For your sincerity, Africa stretches its welcoming hands.❤❤
This was so nice to see in my recommendations to watch. I’m Australian and my mother had a friend whose husband was from Africa. They were like family and coming over for dinner and spend time together he would either bring or make Jollof rice at our house. He passed away a few years ago now and I haven’t eaten it since. This did bring me to tears but in a good way. I miss him.
This rice....... I didn't even have all the ingredients yet but I did a teat run and all I have to say is GOD has blessed Africa. This is a staple in my home from now the hell on. This is a huge compliment because my family is from Jamaica that rice and peas is like drinking water.
When a man can cook it makes the woman's life easy because he will not sit in the living room watching the television and waiting for the wife to come from work before he eats. Well done I hope he will teach his sons too. Your mother did a good job in your life teaching you how to cook.
Amen! My man can cook too. He's not Nigerian though, so that will be on me for when I'm craving it. He'll be able to help with American dishes, which is what I eat most of the time anyways. I'm losing weight so I don't eat rice or fufu often at all. Give me stewed chicken drums and vegetables. My only weakness is plantain😭. Thank God for air fryers - less oil 😁. Our food has so much carbohydrates🥲.
Senegalese and Gambians have Thiebudienne rice which is richer, Nigerians have jollof rice which is most popular, Ghanains have copyrice and irrelevant bragging.
Is there any meat in jollof rice? I tried some recently, and it tasted like it had meat in it. But man, it was so good! And, I have some curry powder in my spice rack, that I've never used, but was hoping to come across a recipe that I can use it for -- and here it is 😂. Thank you so much for posting this video. I really did need a recipe for rice. You get tired of the same old white or brown rice.
I’m coloured, from South Africa, I want to try to make Jollof rice because it’s Nigerian boyfriend’s favourite and I wanna surprise him, thank you for the recipe❤️
@danielochuko thank you for sharing this, I’ve always been scared to cook jollof rice. Tried this recipe yesterday for extended family and I was 🤩 it was amazing, everyone loved it, thank you. I also used your fried rice recipe, ‘it was loud!!’ Thank you for boasting my confidence 🙏
