You must search about the parrot fishes. Parrot fish is different to surge wrasse. Surge wrasse is the coral eater and they have a near color similarity in the parrot fish. Parrot fish have a big two teeth.

I know everything about reef fishes including Parrotfishes and Wrasses... I am a diver and I know what kind of fish I am taking and why I am taking them. Thanks.

@@MCGUIANG It is my favorite fish to eat, its bland meat is a lot tastier than other reef fish or even Tuna. parrotfish is just like other regular fish, it has done nothing to the reef but to eat corals, what you read in many articles those were all lies! Parrotfishes are all coral predators.

@@MCGUIANG There are certain kind of parrotfish that is bot allowed to catch, but that is way too small to get. Maybe next time he can manage not to get the smaller ones.

PARROTFISHES are all CORAL PREDATORS... Too many viewers had the most unusual concern on Parrotfishes because they produce fine sand according to them. Yeah! It's true...They produce dust, not sand! Unfortunately, these viewers are more concerned about having metric tons of dust than losing metric tons of corals each day from the PARROTFISHES that prey on them elsewhere on the planet. In my opinion, being a diver, and a researcher myself, we need more corals rather than needing more sand in our shorelines, because life is in the corals never in the dust and sand, the main objective of these people to forbidding fishermen catch any Parrotfishes is for the dust and sand that any sunbathers can have to lay on at every beach but then what benefits to any commoners would this campaign have??? Will, it provides food or livelihood to many people whose lives are basing on what they get from the reef and PARROTFISHES are among the easy catch??? Imagine, many viewers around the globe are being misinformed about the real characteristics of the Parrotfish especially the HUMPHEAD PARROTFISH, these sea elements devour coral by tons a day throughout the planet and turn them out into the dust. The sad thing was... Once an underwater sandstorm occurs, the Parrotfishes poops which are tons of dust and fine sand will cloud up from underwater plains then carried out by current where it landed killing all corals beneath. Corals do breathe through their microchannel and if these microchannels were blocked by dust the coral will die. This is one thing in reality that many article writers never put on their column because much of them are animal rights activists and don't like Parrotfishes being fish upon. We already had Billions of billions of tons of sand everywhere on the planet, from dessert, mountains, Ocean floors, and beaches that have been there Million of years ago and many PARROTFISH ADVOCATES still need more dust and sand from these fish. But what about Corals...??? They grew just of these days and their lives seem to come and go! Corals grow in a matter of years before reaching out into dense branching bodies, then die most of the cause is underwater erosion or underwater nature activities, and other factors due to devastating coral predatory fish among them are PARROTFISHES. Sadly... MISLEADING CONTENTS of many articles draw the attention of many people who also became misleading PARROTFISHES ADVOCATES claiming these fishes eat dead corals as well, if it were true then why on every sandy beach with tons of dead corals has no existence of any PARROTFISHES seen munching them? Just because PARROTFISHES only live where healthy corals are bounty, what NUTRIENTS would they get from eating dead elements for that particular reason? Too many PARROTFISHES ADVOCATES having more concerned about getting more dust and sand than having more corals, as a diver I witness myself and see every time I dive tons of swarming PARROTFISHES in the reef area maybe by thousands or millions in just an area I dove. Imagine how many metric tons of corals will be eaten each day by these predators in just a part of an ocean and still many misinformed fellas keep on yelling "DON'T KILL PARROTFISH..." "PARROTFISH ARE ENDANGERED..." "THEY MAKE SAND DO NOT CATCH THEM..." "THEY'RE THE OCEAN CLEANERS AND GOOD FOR OUR ECOSYSTEM..." etc...etc...etc... Well...The ocean from the very start and up to this day is COMPLETELY CLEAN, anything underwater is good elements and useful to create balance biodiversity which is beneficial to our ecosystem, each of them has roles that contribute marine lives to flow in good condition and any PARROTFISHES HAS DONE NOTHING WITH THIS! There is no dirt nor unwanted kinds of stuff in there. If anything that exists it was human waste dropped intentionally or unintentionally. The real ocean cleaner, if it were the issue, is the surface swimmer fishes that eat planktonic organism, somehow planktons pollute the ocean and reduce oxygen when they swarmed up by Millions of tons in every ocean elsewhere, furthermore, they became food to any fish that prey on them on a daily basis, and such nature a part of the life cycle. Many well-known writers wrote misleading articles about PARROTFISHES, without having to scrutinize the facts and the impact done by coral predatory elements such as PARROTFISHES and they were believed and followed by many people who became misinformed as well and inherit their ignorance. When PARROTFISHES eats corals, it leaves wounds and scars on it, and these wounds do not heal, it will remain wound until molds evolved and became attacking parasites beginning the sacrificing life of corals. PARROTFISHES eat coral algae too by eating the soft part of any coral sucking all algae in it then turn coral to dust, coral won't survive without algae for it is their blood and protective element against any falling debris that may fall straight to its microchannel where the algae used to travel as blood. If these microchannels were exposed by way of fish intervention like a coral is being eaten the algae will unstoppably bleed out made coral depleted until it dies. The Coral isn't like a tree, that once the branch broke off any soothe will soon regrow, the coral ate by PARROTFISHES it won't regrow. Corals grow in years then just being eaten in minutes by a Parrotfish, if we do not control the PARROTFISH population surely our corals are in trouble, let's have more concern on protecting the corals for they are the elements that bring us tons of fish and livelihood, protecting the predators just for the dust will give us nothing! NO FISH IN THE DUST AND FINE SAND!... FISHES ARE IN THE CORALS! LET'S PROTECT OUR CORALS!.... Now if you are not a diver and know nothing about PARROTFISHES never base on any articles do your own research in the ocean before tossing any comments concerning that fish, I will not tolerate any bad words and any annoying and unprofessional speech just by protesting on behalf of the Parrotfishes on this channel, surely your comment will right away be removed. THANKS FOR BEING PATIENT IN READING THIS INFORMATION HOPE THIS WILL HELP TO EDUCATE ANYONE ACTING LIKE AN EXPERT BUT IN FACT NEVER BEFORE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE IN ANY OUTDOORS ACTIVITIES BUT INSTEAD JUST BASING ON OTHERS MISLEADING ARTICLES TO PROVOKE OTHERS! Cheers! FreeDiver 736
