Aesthetics, music and lore of the Night Elfs are amazing, but every victory is an empty shell, if Tyrande and Malfurion were removed from last 3 expansions, nothing in the story would change. I hope in dragonflight Blizzard return the former glory of the savage night elfs
Not only the night elves made... This is the case with many races of both Alliance and Horde. I wish that blizzard would stop with all the new bullshit we're getting and just focus on the races... We need a 5th war.

Sick of world of peace craft, one example of a now toothless race is Trolls, they used to be Human hating, Head hunting, Cannibals and now they’re all freakin zappy boi with gen x haircuts. I’m fully On board with that 5th war and bringing the races back to their roots! Their blood thirsty roots!
Thanks for this fantastic recap! I have been Horde for so long (since BC gave us Blood Elves) and wanted to return to my original race, Night Elf, for the heritage quest and to be ready for the new world tree content. This is precisely the motivation I need to get the NElf leveled!
You know I used to pity Illidan for having sacrificed so much but failing to get the girl of his dreams and the thanks he so richly deserves. After seeing what Blizzard's done with Tyrande however I see now the bullet he dodged.
The real title of this video is "Tyrande gets crapped on and the Night Elves continue to suffer. Forever." I can't wait until the expansion after Dragonflight! The devs will say "Night Elves get a cool moment," and the 'cool' moment will be Malfurion turning into a tree for some reason and immediately being thrown in a wood chipper.
Even if you HATE the Night Elves or the Alliance, you should be able to see how this kind of writing ruins the game for everyone. It's illogical and inconsistent. They've been miswritten since Vanilla but never to this extent. Their seething hatred for Night Elves is blatantly in your face since Cata. The idea that Nathanos could last even 2 seconds in a fight vs a 10-20 thousand year old, 7 foot tall warrior priestess, even WITHOUT the night warrior blessing, is laughable. Or that he could fight the world's oldest and most powerful druid, honed for 10 thousand years in the Emerald Dream. Both are literal demigods and Nathanos is a self insert zombie fuckboy.
that one time Malfurion decided to not sleep, and he was clearly grumpy about it. another funny thing to note is: wc 3 Tyrande was so powerful she could hold back an endless tide of the undead, and the sheer power of prayers caused the bridge she was standing upon to collapse. What power up did the Night warrior exactly do?
4:39 I expected this was the form End Time was describing when we fought her echo. I was wrong. So far, the visions in that dungeon have been correct. We have fought both Jaina (BFA), and Sylvanas (Shadowlands). I look forward to reuniting her with her husband! Baine, however........
Man, I feel like Malfurion got nerfed so hard in the games. I get they had to bring his power level into a reasonable place but this is/was kinda lame in comparison to how powerful he was early on. I'll never forget reading how he summoned a hurricane on land and effectively turned the entire landscape into a roiling sea of earth and stone - nearly killed the entire NE army during the initial battle with the Legion because of how upset he was.
Btw, a little "trivia/easter egg" for those who are curious: In Warcraft 3, every hero had 3 basic skills to develop and a sort of iconic ultimate skill. Tyrande had "starfall", Malfurion had "tranquility"... And Maiev had one (iirc) that turned you into a big shadow avatar. I think that's somewhat where the inspiration for the Tyrande's ritual and new form came from.
