Couldn't help but crack up a little when you added tape saturation to a couple of the tracks that were originally recorded on analog tape. Technology can take us to some weird places. 😆 One thing I have noticed from mixing a good bunch of these old multi-tracks that have become available over the years is how they really do kind of mix themselves a lot. Sure a little bit of EQ and FX are required, but in a lot of cases you just bring the faders up and hit play and it feels like it's all right there. These guys did some spectacular tracking back in the day.
Agree, @troubleondemand7703 - they do tend to mix themselves. They had to I guess, as they didn't have the options we're blessed with these days. As to the saturation, I hear you: it is a little odd. But is there a right amount? So long as it still sounds good, I reckon. They'd have mixed to another tape too, which would've added more. Thanks for checking it out. :-)
Appreciate the video and being able to listen to these tracks separated out. But Did you have a fan running next to your microphone? It was really distracting and diminished the overall quality of the video. May be worth a re-record so we can hear your voice and the music in pristine form without all that heavy "white noise".
Thanks for the feedback, @privatename3621. Yeah, I've blundered a little with the sound on this one - I'll have to work on a solution going forward. :-)
