This is the last morning of our backpacking trip around the lesser traveled trails at Guadalupe Mountains National Park in October of 2020. We left from Bush Mountain Campsites in the dark and hiked by headlamp to Pine Top. About the time we started down the Tejas trail, the sun started to come up and we were treated with amazing views of the sunrise across the Guadalupes. I also do a quick recap of our whole trip.
Day 1 of this Trip:
• Fall Backpacking Bear ...
Day 2 of this Trip:
• Lost Peak, Manzanita R...
Day 3 of this Trip:
• Burnt Forest, B24 Cras...
This is ChucoHiker's RU-vid channel. Check it out for videos of this trip from his perspective as well as videos from around West Texas.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. It was one of the best I've done out there for sure. Thanks for watching.

Another fantastic video Cameron! Really enjoyed watching these. Love the images from early morning and night. Being in the Guads at night is amazing. The dark night sky can make one feel insignificant. We hiked Devils Hall last fall under a full moon. Amazing to say the least. Anyway, keep up the good job!

Thanks Greg. Seen some of the best night skies of my life out there. I bet Devils Hall at night is amazing! I've never thought of doing that trail as a night hike. But I bet the moonlight on all the limestone looks really cool.

A fitting ending video for the trip! It is crazy how empty the interior was despite the full parking lots. I saw more people in the backcountry portion of the Outer Mountain Loop than we did in the backcountry portion of GUMO. I’m sure the fact the backcountry was just reopened played a role, but still it was pretty neat to enjoy that kind of solitude :) Thanks for having me along, I had a great time :)

I dont know ... I never see anyone back there. I think the most people I've ever passed on trail in the backcountry on a multi-day trip at GUMO is 3. One of the best things about the park. Thanks again for joining me. This really was a wonderful trip.

@@CameronHall88 Interesting, you certainly have more experience than I in those portions. Guess people don’t want to lug 2 gallons of water through the mountains hahaha!

Emphasis on "rocky". Some of those trails are rough! But it all adds to the charm of the Guads.

Loved watching every minute of this trip. Also, the new camera does great in low light...the early morning footage looked great. 👍

Thanks Todd. I really am happy with the photos and video the camera on my phone takes. Pretty noticeable improvement from my last phone.

This is a fantastic series! You mentioned in one video that you have the track up on AllTrails, but I’m having trouble finding it. Any tips? I’m looking to head out there in a couple of weeks and would love to check out your route!

I keep all my maps that I make myself private. Thats why it doesn't show up online. I appreciate you watching these videos John. You'll love it out there.

Wait! Turn around, there's still some more trails left to hike. Don't go home yet. Oh well, I guess I need to get my butt back out there.

Yeah, its time! I'll be out there one more time this year. Should have a bunch more videos. But they'll all be dayhikes. Differt sort of trip to experience the Guads in a different way.

My advice is don't start flaunting the gold. You'll have relatives and friends coming out of the woodwork. Invest wisely...quietly:)
