Night in the Woods: 1 hour of relaxing music 

God, this game actually changed my life. I’m not kidding, it encouraged me to get to know my friends on a more personal level, step outside my comfort zone with things I did, and to explore the town I live in. All three of those thing has left nothing but good results and memories.

Gotta love the part between "rainy day" and "the bridge" where "pierogies in the dark" sneaks in to remind us how wonderful of a soundtrack it is.

I discovered and played this game in the middle of quarantine, april 2020 or so. I hit the fucking jackpot, everything was just the way I needed it to be: the right characters, the right gameplay, the right story, the right art style, and the right music. I loved everything about it. I hardly cry. People usually tell me that that's just me being "manly" and not letting myself be emotional. Nah, I'm fine. I just have a hard time resonating with fictional characters because I always unconsciously think "oh, but these are not real, I don't need to care about them". I can accurately pinpoint the very few times I've actually cried because of a film, a tv show or a videogame this past decade. That being said, Night in the Woods got me. Several times. A couple of them, by playing the story, specially getting closer to the end. But once finished it and after finally uninstalling it, I cried yet again when I found the soundtrack on youtube. I'm so happy this game exists. I don't suffer from depression or anxiety, but I need to work a lot on myself. Night in the Woods found me in the right time, it tucked me in and told me "relax for once. You're safe here". And I've seen tons of memes and jokes about the characters and their traits, but for me, it more than that. I love Mae. She's an idiot who hasn't quite figured out how life works, but she's a great person and it's in the right path to improve herself. And I love Bea, Angus and Gregg. Perfectly realistic personalities who have their struggles and their own way of dealing with them. It's a beautiful story and there was no better way to tell it. And I could go on and on forever (I wish I could. I recon this thing has a word limit and no-one is gonna read this anyway), but eh, gonna keep listening to the music for a while and call it a day. May replay the game any day now. I just wish I could forget it and discover it all from the beginning

Life is... weird right now, to be honest. I'm finally coming out of my depression. I've moved states, I have a job I actually like, I'm talking to more real people again, and I'm focusing on my hobbies. Suffice it to say that Night in the Woods helped me through some tough times. Not even that long ago, actually. About a year ago I dropped out of college following Sophomore year just like Mae, moved back home, and spent awhile figuring things out. Having a character I could very closely relate to was a big deal to me. Hearing the soundtrack and re-playing the game brings a rush of emotions as I think back to how life was at the time. It's bittersweet. To anyone reading this who's going through a tough time, I promise it does get better, as long as you're willing to put in the work. I had to pull myself up by my bootstraps, get help, and actively work to make my life better. I love you all.

This soundtrack to this game and all of Alec's music really shows that he did care for what he did. and i bet that whatever is after this life ,if there is anything, that Alec Holowka is making more music and doing what he loves. He made this game. And he made a lot of people pick up instruments. He inspired me to create my own worlds and characters just from his music alone. He helps us get through dark times. and that is awesome. but as KGhaleon and Ryuzaki said, well miss you Alec.

i know you posted this in late 2018 and its 2020 now but,,, you dont know how much this playlist has helped me through this terrible year, this is such an amazing soundtrack thank you for putting it together!

I remember seeing what seems to be a pregnant raccoon in the background when you're walking through the town. Later in the game you can see her going around with a carriage with a baby in it. This could just be the character design, but I always thought that was a neat little detail.

Really fantastic music from a game I truly consider to be art. It had such a huge effect on me when I first played it during the worst year of my life. I was unemployed right after college and back in my hometown. I don't think I've ever related to something quite as much as this. Hearing the music still brings those good vibes. I love this game to absolute bits, nothing has ever compared or related to me more than this story.

I've played this game so many times, but never to completion. It's just something that I can't describe, how it makes me feel playing it. The story is so great, everything about the game is amazing. I just can't bring myself to finish it, as if it's filling a hole in me I don't know I have.

It took a long time for me to pick up NitW again after Alec Holowka died. This game was exactly what I needed when I needed it. I played through it with my brother and we had a deep heart-to-heart about mental health at the end, one of the few times we've ever opened up to each other like that. I used to listen to the soundtrack constantly, to remember how much I loved playing through the game with my bro. And then I found out about how Alec Holowka died... It hurt too much to return to his music for a while, but I think I'm finally ready to come home to Possum Springs. This music, no matter how much I hear it, feels like home to me.

Also, Long story incoming: I started watching a playthrough of this game about 3 or so years ago by commander Holly and Ross before the whole controversy with her and Projarad came out. After all that I couldn't bring myself to finish watching the game because it sort of felt wrong, not quite ruined but off, like some childhood betrayal was weighing on it. However I did hold onto the soundtrack. I listened to it alot while skateboarding/biking around my sleepy little hometown in-between my first few semesters of college. It's crazy how music can imprint so hard with memories and emotions. The setting of the game is alot like my home and looking at the visuals and the sounds of this dorky old game gives me so much nostalgia: Stairing at sodium lamps outside my window on cool summer nights Walking the old creek near my house, looking up at the sun through the falling autemn leaves. Biking miles in the cold rain just to make it back to a warm house. Hanging out with old friends, pretending like the world has just stoped spinning for a change... It's kind of funny I have had this game downloaded on steam for a while, but I haven't brought myself to play it. Maybe stumbling on this video is a sign. After all the mess I've had with this, and all the things that it's seen me through, I think it's about time that I experience it properly. Thanks for reading, go out and have yourselves a day :)
