Is melodic dubstep the right genre for this? Probably not, but I really don't care for that semantic argument right now. This is the point where I've started noticing patterns in how I produce and compose EDM, particularly in my structure and sound choice (PINGRID 2 from 5000 drum hits might be the only ride sound I have used for at least the past 9 months) and I don't hate it. I'll obviously try not to over rely on my own tropes, but it is nice to feel like I have somewhat of my own style developing in this area. That being said, I think I'm gonna take some time to make some more ambient type stuff once I've put out what's in my current backlog because I'm starting to struggle with it a bit and I wanna make some stuff that's a bit more chill. Also, I quite like the audio visualiser setup I made for this, so I'll probably be using it again. It's the first one I've made since I moved to using ZGame for visuals that actually feels reusable.
