@@Johnlindsey289 No remake of DOTD will ever top the original for me , It was too perfect. I did see the DOTD remake on release In 04' and It was actually really decent for a modern movie but still nowhere close. This remake is way better than the original though imo.
@@fawkkyutuu8851 What about The Blob, Fly, Hills Have Eyes, Maniac, The Ring, House on Haunted Hills, My Bloody Valentine, Invasion of the Body Snatchers etc? good remakes and i don't consider The Thing to be a "remake" of the earlier film The Thing from Another World but another adaptation of the original book and more true to the book
They held a world premiere for this movie at the Galleria Mall in Pittsburgh. I was 11 or 12 years old, and my uncle and father took me to see it. The entire mall was covered with man made fog as we walked in, and actors dressed as zombies roamed the halls to give it an added effect. It is one of my more vivid memories of childhood, my uncle, and my father. Needless to say.. this soundtrack holds a special place in my heart.
See its things like that that make me so sad i live in this generation. I feel like we have no creativity anymore. Movies are straight garbage and noone does anything special. Just try and sell you fkn t shirts.
now this song is very creepy. very atmospheric ambient. i remember it as a kid seeing the still pic shots of the zombies in the film. it has a good rhythm to it too.
"This is something no one's ever heard about, and no one's ever seen before. This is hell on earth. This is pure hell on earth." -Ben This movie is one of my all-time favorite horror movies, and will continue to be a Halloween classic… This movie is better than the original in every way, and I will continue to believe that.
That first Ben soliloquy hit like the first time i seen it in theaters. Its like you can see him losing his bearings and understanding of the world while Barb was gaining hers. Tony nailed the vibe of the original Ben to a T!!! Top tier masterclass in acting.
Yup along with Hills Have Eyes, The Fly, The Blob, Dawn of the Dead, The Ring, Cat People. Good examples, yet i don't count The Thing as one as it's often mistaken as a remake of The Thing from Another World, it's actually rather another adaptation of the 1938 book and a more faithful adaptation as the earlier film was just a very weak loose adaptation.
i would like to add Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the one with Jessica Biel, i know the original is so iconic and i love it but that remake really added a lot of atmosphere and terror, i really liked it
Mine is Day Of The Dead (1985), followed by this movie and the first three Return Of The Living Dead films. The Dawn Of The Dead remake is bloody good too.
It’s a very good remake! On a recent view my only complaint is that it seemed toned down in terms of gore. If it had a bit more gore I think this would make it even better. Surprisingly the violence was watered down considering who directs this film.
@@davidw5532 Funny that ive just seen your comment. A few days ago i watched it again (for the hundredth time) and was thinking how little gore there actually is in it. Apart from the burned dead bodies you dont see the zombies actually eating anyone. Compare that to Day Of The Dead, where you see basically everyone get eaten in really graphic detail. I dont think there is another zombie movie.tv show that shows that much flesh eating carnage. Maybe the walking dead is the only other one i can think of.
Temazo, cuando pensé que The Night of Living Dead no podía ser mejor llegan y te meten tremendo ending para poner en las fiestas de Halloween o alguna mierda así.
omg i know what you mean as a kid watching this i never in my life forgot that look Barbara had and that quote we are them they are us ..... man that was so deep this song gives me goosebumps everytime the the credits hit
I could easily see PT on the walking dead if she was the age she was when she made this movie. One of the most brilliant zombie horror movie performances ever. No matter how many times i see this her performance rings true and her journey from scared, meek, everywoman to hardened world weary survivor is mesmerizing, Tony Todd is just as good in a different way
What I loved mainly about this remake is that made Barbra a tough warrior woman instead of the scared frantic chick in the original. like aliens 2 this movie showed that women are tough.
You know how when a movie ends & the credits start rolling you get up & leave.I remember having my finger on the remote button 2 change the channel & didnt want 2 do it & I stayed in my seat til the end too lol.Amazing instrumental.Very hypnotic.Fantastic movie.Patricia Tallman I love you!
I like this song, but it's funny looking back... it sounds exactly like something that would've been composed for a mid-90's Capcom q-sound arcade game. Haha What I'm saying is... that lead guitar is clearly a synthesizer and the above is what it sounds like.
The only movie to get me legit scared at night. Seen it 100's of times since I was 7(43 now)I start looking out the window like its happening for real.LOL
I loved this soundtrack especially the creepy main title. But 1 hugely important cue that was missing was the one heard after Barbara escaped the first 2 zombies and flees down the hill. It was a creepy super fast-paced violin & woodwind cue that was heard until she reached the farmhouse.
I know EXACTLY where this movie was filmed and most of everyone who was in it...because i live VERY close to the cemetary right in Evans City in fact...born and raised there...every year they we hold a party to remember those who took part in the film the house in the movie is still in the cemetary to this day because me and MANY others got the money to keep it as a historical landmark...it's staying for good :)
