Great video as always! The rear LED's on Turbo S trims light up on the tailgate as well not just on the corners. Don't know why Mazda limits that feature to certain trims, doesn't look premium at all. Otherwise great vehicle!
You'd figure they'd also include it in the top trim of the PHEV, but I guess they wanted to keep the cost down, which in itself makes no sense at 60K. And the top Turbo S trim is the only one that gives you the brown/tan leather. Everything else is either black, white, or beige.
Being a pretty avid Mazda enthusiast, in regards to the rear taillights, I’ve only seen the taillights stretch the full length of the taillight assembly on the highest end Turbo 3.3 model. A shame in my opinion that on the highest end PHEV you don’t get them but still a gorgeous vehicle in my opinion.
No ambient lighting, no light up door handles, no approach lighting, light up cup holders, i mean others in this price tag have these features. Overall nice solid vehicle but the lighting is slacking.
Great video. Pretty unique perspective for a car review and I really like it. I am bummed out as well regarding the “missing” light accents. Not only does the top line S model get the full width tail lights, but the little “angel eye” accents in the headlight are top trim level only. I wish Mazda would’ve made them standard across-the-board. These little elements grab peoples attention, and would help with brand recognition. On another note… Which trim level was this? I know some of the other trims are supposed to have glove box, door pocket, and foot well lighting. I didn’t see that called out here. Possibly that’s another very top of the line future as well
I am really shocked and surprised this vehicle doesn’t have any approach welcoming lighting at night. For premium vehicle that’s surprising. It makes the vehicle have a lot more of a special touch to it.
Nice video. Full tail light illuminates on the high trim Turbo S only. I just ordered mine with the ambiance package. Would be great to add to this video that includes that for door sills, puddle light and it even has an extra cargo scuff plate light, but was not available until next month.
Love my Mazda, hate the situation with the rear tail lights and the lack of ambient lighting. Apparently, with the CX70 it looks like they heard the complaints and I t looks like they gave all models the full rear lights.
Great job fellas! Appreciate all the time and effort you all place into your videos. Any chance you'll be doing a future night review of the Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum???
Nice video of the lighting. In addition to the full tailgate light illumination on the higher Turbo S trims there are also some more ambient rope lighting on all 4 doors and a few more overhead. Mazda missed by not adding the full tailgate lighting on the top trim of the PHEV.
I wonder if they do this on all their models, I have a CX-50 Turbo and both light up but if you were to get a lower trim only the outer corner ones light up on the taillights.
With the press of a button on my key FOB, my 20 year old car has approach lighting. The interior is fully illuminated and even the fog lamps come on. Yes, it's not LED lighting, but I have only changed one bulb. My question is...what do you do when an LED goes out? I am sure it's not a $5 fix.
Honestly very disappointed that they do not have any exterior lighting when you approach the car. Even older Hyundai top trims and other cars would have some form of door and mirror lightings. makes it very hard to justify 50-60K!! Also the rear lighting has to be a fluke right? No way they designed it like that.
Can you Make comper with 2024 MAZDA CX‑90 3.3 TURBO S PREMIUM PLUS VS 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX Platinum I'M so confused which one is better i need your help..
Mazda claims that it wants to be a Luxury brand yet they fail to put any kind of ambient lighting in their flagship car? Really disappointing, at least out even simple straps here and there even without color changing function just to living up the interior, that is a pass for me
Not much lighting inside or out. No puddle lights, no logo projection lights, no ambient lighting of any substance. Given its price point it's is surprising.
It has door puddle lights when opened. sill lights as an add on option. Not sure why they didn’t mention but has footwell and door stage ambient lights as well. But agree is should have way more ambient inside and out lights for the class of car they are targeting.
