Is it true that you can be scammed anywhere but it’s also a fact that chances to be scammed as a tourist are higher in Turkey than any other place in the world. Turkish people don’t like be seen as a place full of scammers in every corner? Then do something about it: Punish scammers so that they think twice before scamming tourists. Alert tourists about the most common scams. Increase the police presence in touristic places.

Not as unsafe as India.. in India it is rule of the jungle. Women could get gang raped and the rapists can walk away! Men could be robbed and beaten by robbers, or even lynched to death in public, Scary think is they are all most probably supported by police. !!! ☺️

I'm going to Turkey next month, super excited. Scammers are in many cities I visit and Istanbul is by far the worst. However, remember that these RU-vidrs are baiting them even in the slightest. As a business man who travels and does the research and more importantly dressed the part and doesn't interact with people that are known to be asking for anything I'm not interested in, there is no issue. No issue at all. On business I sometimes tour the city im in, but in Turkey, you really need to be vigilant and not be the average tourist and stick out. I really like these cuties like Istanbul, Paris, etc because being ahead of the scammers really eliminates the problems most people have with these cities. There is a way to deal with every situation with one being the most likely to will run into. Taxis. I take taxis in every city, but nowadays try to use Uber when possible, but knowing how to approach drivers, taking picture of the post if a taxi. And insisting on meter and asking about the route up front appearing to be someone who knows the lay of the city. Second is pricing anywhere. Be vigilant.

Avoid Istanbul ... . Much better places in Turkey. Istanbul just has a name what everyone knows. There are better and much safer places like Antalya, Cappadocia and Side/Alanya
