It's honestly the best upgrade you can give your PVS14. I definitely use this a lot when I'm driving out on a dark dirt road with my freight truck. I close the iris up, and with the help of my headlights I see everything, lol It's gotten me out of ugly roads with nothing but confidence

Is this adequate protection on the closeed setting for leaving them setting around? Such as walking around with them on your head in sunlight? Great vid btw
The gap on the closed setting is slightly larger than the hole on a standard daylight cap. There are some mods where people have fashioned the iris inside a butler creek cap, and that would completely block any daylight.
The focus ring doesn't shrink your aperture. Changing your focus using the focus ring just shifts where your plane of focus is, it doesn't allow your plane of focus to grow.

I've never thought about this. No clue if it would work or not. I'd imagine you'd run into some light transmission issues, but it would be an interesting experiment for sure.
