The Lausanne Music Festival 2024 is an exciting event celebrating a diverse range of musical genres and artists. Held in the beautiful city of Lausanne, Switzerland, this festival attracts music lovers from all over the world.
Like other Swiss cities, Lausanne was asked in 1995 by the Ministry of Culture to participate in this event, which has since become international. An organizing committee was then formed at the request of the Municipality of Lausanne and its Mayor, Yvette Jaggi.
From the outset, the Lausanne committee decided to respect the original spirit of the Festival, namely the date of June 21, regardless of the day of the week, as well as the principle of free admission. Nearly 2,000 musicians perform there voluntarily in around forty locations (clubs, cafés, museums, churches, hospitals, concert halls, open-air stages). All styles of music are represented.
In Lausanne, the Fête de la Musique has become an unmissable event, attracting more than 40,000 spectators each year.
